Something so sad about watching Travis & Kylie's daughter, Stormi, standing alone, still and silent in the school bus isle. A school bus isn't the same without the kids and laughter
She probably saw it on TV with all the kids in it and thought what am I supposed to do in an empty bus? She wanted the experience, not to own the bus itself. Rich parents often throw money at their kids instead of actually listening to them and then call them ungrateful when they’re older and call them out.

The fact that I’m only 40 and haven’t even heard of a third of these celebrities and only have peripherally heard of another third of these celebrities, and know little about the remaining third, shows that celebrities aren’t needed to live a fulfilling life. Just ignore these out of touch idiots.
Couldn’t agree more. Celebrities are relevant or “famous” only because of their fans, yet they act so self-entitled and spoiled. If one day we chose to ignore them altogether, where would they be lol
Gwenyth Paltrow is pretty insufferable in general but she actually was making a decent point, which is that its nearly impossible to survive and be healthy while living on food stamps.
Agree. Gwyneth IS pretty insufferable but yes, she was correct. And not knowing much about it, she overspent on things that 1) she was probably used to and 2) she probably didn't think were luxury items. And honestly? They SHOULDN'T be considered luxury items, but they are. (Shoot, a store I often go to to recently had a big bag of fresh cherries for about 60% off and I thought I'd hit a jackpot!) I also don't blame Bill Gates much. He wasn't trying to brag or or humble-brag. He genuinely didn't know the price of things. Shoot, my dad wasn't rich but since my mom did most of the grocery shopping after they stopped going to the military commissary together, he underestimated how much things actually cost, estimating them to be the price that they were, maybe a decade earlier, and couldn't understand why she was spending so much.
I agree! I feel like she’s said more tone deaf things, but this for me wasn’t one of them. She was pointing out the truth and some folks reality, even though she only did it for a few days. At least she was being truthful and not claiming otherwise, plus she admitted she couldn’t handle it! But maybe there was more tone deaf sht said on the clip, which I wouldn’t be surprised. Still can’t stand her!
The K-J and Foster clans are notoriously moronic and mindless.. Hard pass on all of them... But especially BRUCE.... Sorry Kaitlyn... Or whatever that MAGA Lizard is going by this day...
As a nurse who worked through the pandemic, many of these examples were new to me, and I found them difficult to watch. People were lucky to stay at home, make videos in the bath or sing virtually with their friends. Those who risked everything had no time to make videos and complain about being bored. Feeling sorry for themselves because they had nothing to do and felt trapped - little did they realize, that was their luxury.
Agreed. I’m a nurse and worked through the pandemic sweating in PPE, and being yelled at by members of the public who didn’t want to wear a mask even if it was to protect themselves. My mother was in a nursing home and we were not allowed to visit her during much of 2020. The celebrities making videos in their mansions as if they could relate to the rest of us was ridiculous.
My husband’s cardiologist said there were covid cases in the cardiology ward. He was overwhelmed. Post covid, he had to see a therapist. I almost cried.
Yeah, I have chronic illness & have to stay home in bed most of the time, so for me, Covid was pretty much life as usual & all these people were complaining about not going out, etc. And I'm thinking, you still have the internet, books, movies - it's not that big of a deal. I know video chats aren't the same as being together, but it really sounded like they've never been through any real challenges in their life. Plus, I believe if you're bored it's your own fault. You can always find things to do. But of course, everyone who really suffered financially or had loved ones die, & the healthcare workers went through a lot & it was very serious and difficult. However most of the ones complaining were about trivial things. But I thought the celebrities making a song or other videos was nice. If someone does something out of kindness, we should accept it in the spirit it's given.
If you want an example of a parasocial relationship, when I tried calling out Ellen for her bullshit - my mom got so fucking defensive. I was an “essential worker” and was only making $10/hr but my mother felt so bad for Mrs. Ellen Degeneres being trapped in her multi million dollar mansion
I don't think your mom felt defensive because of what Ellen sitting in her mansion...Your mom more likely became defensive of Ellen being attacked in general..Think about it

@@lillaurapI wouldn’t say none of them have worked hard, there are some who actually did come from poverty and had to work incredibly hard to get where they are. It’s really the ones like Grande who came from very privileged backgrounds that you’re talking about.
Totally and to only care about the camera instead of the actual experience!! But what she said afterwards in the first interview made me actually despise her
The backlash Gwyneth Paltrow got for this has always bugged me. Is she out of touch, yes, but this particular example is actually her recognizing and bringing awareness to the fact that it’s not as easy as “just eat healthy” when you’re in a tax bracket that makes that so much more difficult.
The David Beckham moment shows how down-to-earth he is. When Queen Elizabeth II died, and the pubic was able to go and pay their respects, the queue to do so was at its peek for 24 hours!! David queued with the public, and some lesser famous celebrities used their status to skip the queue. He enjoyed meeting fans while he was there and I’ve always seen him differently after this happened.
That show made me realize how much I actually love him. Probably the best thing he could do was that. He seems endearing and not as mentally far removed from the general public as others are.
@@TheBOG3 I believe certain English speaking countries use the work queue (or to "queue up") to wait in line. It's also used in the U.S. for certain online activities. Like if an online game server is full, you are put in a queue.
@@lordprotector3367 Yeah, he was on a sitcom and apparently does voiceover for a cartoon, so he was saying - I'm famous, but I'm not THAT rich! Plus, his original answers were good ones - even though normal people have those things, they can still be thought of as a luxury, especially when you consider that there are cheap brands and expensive brands.
Don’t forget when Oprah was on a talk show and said that veggies were sooo expensive. That’s why she brought along her own, grown on her expensive grounds on Hawaii by several gardeners, when she traveled. 🙄
To be fair, Cate Blanchette grew up in a commonwealth country with a strong English cultural influence. Her use of “middle class” was, I think, used in the sense and manner the English use it. In which case - it was correct. It has nothing to do with her job or fame as an actress. Those things are covered by her phrase “I am privileged.” I am not often a big defender of celebrities, but in this case the WatchMojo criticism is misplaced due to their rather lazy understanding of what was actually being said.
I thought that straight away. In the UK we have an ACTUAL class system. And if you're not born (or marry) into nobility or the periphery thereof, you will only ever be middle class at most.
Absolutely spot on. I’m American and I even know that. Just watch a few clips from 8 out of 10 cats does Countdown, and you’ll figure that out real quick. You have to remember if you have royalty in your society, the highest class you can go is middle class.
I think there's been a misunderstanding between you on this post/thread, Watch Mojo and Cate B. Cate didn't say (and this is KEY) middle class *BACKGROUND* 😖 Which made it seem as if she remains middle class, not appreciating her hierarchical progression. I come from a working class background, but now would likely be seen as middle class. However, working class would be my 'heritage' of sorts growing up 😅
No misunderstanding here. Cate sees herself as middle class now (and always) because she is not upper class. ie. aristocracy. Rich, yes. Famous, yes. Privileged, yes. But all of those can be part of being middle class. Whereas being upper class is, usually, by birth or marriage.
no but he did grow up at his mothers place, didn’t know his dad until he was like 17. When he finally managed to know them both his mother was killed in a car accident. So no he wasn’t living on the streets but he also didn’t have it easy. He even wrote a song about his situation with his parents called Mother, it’s in spotify. I do think he actually joked about imagine later on tho, but i’m not sure rn:)
As a British person, I feel class is not about how much money you have or what car your Dad owns.... It's about your education, your attitude, your style, your values, your manners, the way you speak. Money doesn't make you posh.
8:00 - At this point I'm just glad for any celebrity still trying to stay in touch with the average person, while so many of them have jetted off to live their lives on some island or yacht.

@@cinnamon8884 No she wasn't. In her lawsuit she gave to NYT there was a letter from management and it specifically said NOT to make light of the main theme of the movie.
dude, Gwyneth Paltrow's food stamp challenge did not belong on this list as she ended up proving a point; if there was a statement made beforehand about how easy it was going to be or the usual nonsense of rich people being like, oh just eat healthy it's super easy, that would be more appropriate, or any number of Gwyneth's other cringy statements would have worked much better

I was in a car with the CEO of the place I work and a bunch of other CEOs from other companies once (i am a nobody that was there to answer weird questions) My CEO said something like "I don't understand why kids these days even have to get their drivers license with a manual car, you can barely buy them these days" In Sweden you almost always learn to drive with a manual, if you only learn with an automatic your drivers license says you arent even allowed to drive manual. I told the group that there are actually people who cant afford to buy a 2025 car and have to buy a Skoda from 1997 which may only exist as a manual. They got quiet then 😅 And I still have the job 🤷♂️
To be fair, it is definitely more difficult to buy a manual transmission vehicle in North America, even a 20yo used one. Europe has always had more manual cars on the market. I would love my children in Canada to learn on a standard soon, but I don’t think they’ll have the opportunity unless I buy one specially for that.
@@nicolasimpsonkhullar986 yeah yeah ofc, but in sweden it was the standard until like 5-10 years ago, and most people that are 18 can't afford €80 000 on a brand new car 🤣 My first car was a Saab from 2005 that I bought for ish €3000 But in NA, you have always had more Automatics, you're right, I think that to at least have the knowledge on how to drive a manual is good, you never know when you may need it

Some rentals do include electricity, I've lived in some which did. My guess is that she lived in one when younger and when she became wealthy didn't pay her own bills to make that connection. Still fairly unaware yet electricity is actually sometimes free for a tenant.
I still don't get what Blake Lively thought what "It Ends With us" was about. Did she understand it at all? Did she read the script? Why promote it as a nice cute romantic movie you watch with your girlfriends on a night out?
She really thought she was creating the next Barbie/Oppenheimer because she was also trying to promote Deadpool and wolverine for her husband like he needs The marketing
I thought I was going to be outraged by what Gwyneth Paltrow said. But she actually understood the assignment. She got the point of the entire challenge, and communicated it clearly. She usually is a capitalist pig, but this was different. I may be poor; but that doesn’t mean I think everyone else should suffer. There is actually more than enough money to ensure that everyone has a decent, comfortable life. That’s what makes me mad about income inequality. The people at the top actively trying to make sure the people at the bottom stay there. If you are providing something of value, you will actually profit off of an increase in wages for everyone.

I'd love it! I would shut my mouth and collect my enormous paycheck! Acting poor on television or movies is a lot easier than living the role of working poor. These celebrities have PR people.. How about running these ideas past them before doing these activities? 🤔
@SmokingRun I don't know, acting can be hard and draining depending on the role you're playing, I bet acting in a soap opera is chill though! I can't shut my mouth in the heat of the moment though, roadrage gets me acting like I've been possessed by a whole ass demon! 😂😂
I don’t think the Gwyneth Paltrow food stamp challenge should be on this list. She grew up wealthy and didn’t know what it was like. She learned and grew. If any American goes and lives with people living in poverty in a third world country, then we would probably look the same.
You don’t need to go to a third world country to experience poverty, just look around America you will (unfortunately) find plenty examples of poverty.
To be fair, the people at Pepsi should have canceled that commercial. Kendall did not write the script or direct it or anything other than appear and do what she was told. You can’t put 100% of the blame on her. That being said, she should have passed on the commercial.
You're right but Pepsi was not going to cancel it because they knew it would cause controversy. Kendall Jenner knew that it was going to be controversial (and for the Kardashians /Jenner family, even bad press is good) as well which is most likely why she chose to stay on.
She is also a comedian, and that was very clear to me in that comparison. It rubbed some people the wrong way but people have different sense of humour and find different things funny

We often describe our social status based on our upbringing, regardless of how much money we have as adults. Cate Blanchett was brought up in a middle class household, in Australia, we describe ourselves as being of a certain class based on our upbringing. She wasn't out of touch, she was being Australian.
Hopefully she was brought back down to reality, unless she pays for it herself. My daughter worked 2 jobs in high school while going to college part time. She loved expensive things & I refused to buy them, so she earned her own money.
imagine you're 20+ and youve never cut a cucumber in your life its actually tragic these people would die the moment they have to take care of themselves
You shouldn't talk about grave matters naked in your bathtub for social media. And i weep for humanity if that is all you took from this video. You don't need a brain anymore.
People were losing their homes because they had lost their jobs. So some of them didn't have baths anymore. And more than that, it's what she said. She called COVID an equalizer. COVID was not an equalizer. Rich people, or even just people who could work remotely, could stay home with relatively no risk. Poor people were grocery store clerks getting paid $10/hr to be surrounded by people all day, including customers and even coworkers who often took the pandemic unseriously. I worked in a Target at the time. The number of people I had to interact with wearing a mask incorrectly, or taking it OFF to sneeze/cough? I should've gotten hazard pay. Not to mention that 60% of my coworkers didn't wash their hands regularly (even before eating) and would rip off their masks as soon as they got to the back rooms. Teenagers and 40yos alike. Some cared, some didn't. I definitely wasn't thinking about milky flower baths when that was happening. I was thinking about how I was putting my own health at risk to pay bills.
That wasn't the point...covid wasn't an equalizer...if her or I got sick ...yeah it might kill us both but her family can afford to bury her, mine can't, her care is gonna be a fuck of a lot better than mine, I'm gonna get stuck with 6 other assholes in the same room, she'll get a private room, the best Doctor's, ill get some jerk off who barely passed medical school! I didn't get to sit around in my bath tub singing songs...I was considered essential! So NO it wasn't the great equalizer that she thought it was!
I dont think having money adds class, there are lot of rich people out there that have zero class. I'm working class and no matter how much i earn that's what I will always be. If Cate says she is Middle Class that's what she is. People that are rich and famous aren't all upper class
the thing is with Class an the UK, Cait is right to say she is middle class. Its not about money, its about family line and history. So middle class means very different things between the UK and USA
Agreed. It doesn’t matter how you live now, it matters what you were born into. Your personal achievement or what you married into is immaterial in determining your class.
Cate Blanchett was correct in describing herself as Middle Class. In Britain and Australia, class has nothing to do with how much money you have. If I was a billionaire, I would still be working class. You can be flat broke and still be upper class.
Exactly. With us in the Uk, you’re only upper class if you come from old money or landed gentry. Rich celebs would be nouveau riche. I grew up middle class, but I now live in a council house on benefits because I fell ill and had to medically retire. I’m still middle class because I grew up relatively privileged with a nice-ish home, 2 cars, parents on above average wages, grammar school/university education etc.
Totally true. I’m American. I even know that. If you have royalty in your society, the highest class is middle class. She was straight up calling out her privilege and saying she’s from money and doesn’t understand. The disconnect is that in America middle class is the normal class. And all the barons and fat cats are the high class. That’s because we got no royalty
I genuinely thought that interview with Larry King and Danny Pudi was a gag because I had only ever seen clips. I assumed it was from some show of Danny's that Larry was being a good sport by guest starring on.😂
I doubt Bill Gates could have told you about grocery prices even in the old days. It probably doesn't rise to the level of what he's is/was concerned about. And Cate Blanchett IS middle class where she lives: she's not working class and she's not royalty/nobility. She's in the middle.
Well she should watch how she words things. UK is VERY different to the USA and she said she is white and she is privileged wtf, People don't really put any stock into your race in the UK it's all about your class. If that is the case then why did she use a USA way of referring to things??? Besides she isn't either one she is Australian and God knows how they believe, hahahahahaha
@@Catsface99 US ideas of class aren't relevant - she was speaking while in France, and Australia's ideas about these things are broadly similar to the UK's (they're a British Commonwealth country, and most of the people that live there can trace their roots back to the UK). White people self-hating isn't restricted to the US.
In England, the class you were born into defines you far more than your bank balance. Eg: An aristocrat can be dirt poor but will never be lower class. Meanwhile, a working-class man or woman could be a millionaire but never be considered upper class.

Amen. I work in dentistry. Talk about those frightening early days.
Agreed. I’m a nurse and worked through the pandemic sweating in PPE, and being yelled at by members of the public who didn’t want to wear a mask even if it was to protect themselves. To be fair, Cate Blanchette grew up in a commonwealth country with a strong English cultural influence. Her use of “middle class” was, I think, used in the sense and manner the English use it. In which case - it was correct. It has nothing to do with her job or fame as an actress. Those things are covered by her phrase “I am privileged.”
I am not often a big defender of celebrities, but in this case the WatchMojo criticism is misplaced due to their rather lazy understanding of what was actually being said.
I thought the same, class and money aren’t the same thing, and people can be proud of coming from hard working class people.

You shouldn't talk about grave matters naked in your bathtub for social media. And i weep for humanity if that is all you took from this video. You don't need a brain anymore.
Also I respect the desire to make the video aesthetically pleasing and not like… in her pajamas, looking a mess, in front of a beige wall
Don't make sense, it will disturb the righteousness these morons are enjoying believing they are better than those who have more than them.
“I’m not a good cutter.” 🤣 Oh man, here in the Bahamas, that quote is especially funny lmao
Just to explain: in the Bahamas, a “cutter” (pronounced Cuttah) is a person you have a one-night-stand with.
I dont think having money adds class, there are lot of rich people out there that have zero class. I'm working class and no matter how much i earn that's what I will always be. If Cate says she is Middle Class that's what she is. People that are rich and famous aren't all upper class
Cate Blanchett being Australian likely uses the British class definition, not the American one. In Britain she IS most definitely middle class.
Dani Pudi is a real one for that😆
@@SisyphusMythDidn't the narrator say "Iconic response" ?🤔
When I grew up, my mother gave us choices. (1) eat it and (2) leave it....
And if we did not eat it, it will be your next meal.
She wasn’t upset with him at all.
Hysterical and “authentic “😂😂
Aaah yes, know it well: "Didn't like it for dinner? Expect it tomorrow for breakfast."
Jokes on my mom, I was making wine...
I know my mother tried that with me, but I just kept falling asleep with my head and the food at the table….
Nothing will ever top SNL’s Pepsi add
Katie Perry is hysterical. They soooooo didn’t go to space.
I couldn’t finish this. Narcissistic people like this just it’s too much
Yeah it’s nauseating listening to these people
soo... humans? It's human nature, don't like it? don't be a hypocrite and start self-identifying as a different species then.
the thing is with Class an the UK, Cait is right to say she is middle class. Its not about money, its about family line and history. So middle class means very different things between the UK and USA
.......No
Wasn't it the same with Victoria Beckham?
@AgnessaMo not the same because Victoria was trying to say she was working class growing up when she was actually middle class
Agreed. It doesn’t matter how you live now, it matters what you were born into. Your personal achievement or what you married into is immaterial in determining your class.
not in 2025 mate
Also, Mojo, do you research better. I suggest just watching a couple of 8 out of 10 Cats before knocking British slang.
How is she working class? And you cannot be a billionaire and working class
@Rosafanta
I have no idea why they chose to compare themselves to non-Americans. It's different societal breakdown. I didn't know it worked like that.
I genuinely thought that interview with Larry King and Danny Pudi was a gag because I had only ever seen clips. I assumed it was from some show of Danny's that Larry was being a good sport by guest starring on.😂
10:50 How much could a banana cost, Michael? Ten dollars?
Hahahahaha
Singing what a wonderful world…. While destroying the Earth….nice😂
Some of these are legitimately out of touch and some of them are people being way too easily offended 🤣
I doubt Bill Gates could have told you about grocery prices even in the old days. It probably doesn't rise to the level of what he's is/was concerned about. And Cate Blanchett IS middle class where she lives: she's not working class and she's not royalty/nobility. She's in the middle.
You got the Cate Blanchett one wrong - by the traditional UK measure of class, she IS middle class. It's about breeding, not wealth.
Breeding what are you guys, dogs?
Because many Americans are stuck in a bubble too thinking their society structure is universal to the rest of the world.
@@laurapriego6595The word breeding has more than one meaning use a dictionary and get back to us.
In England, the class you were born into defines you far more than your bank balance.
Eg: An aristocrat can be dirt poor but will never be lower class. Meanwhile, a working-class man or woman could be a millionaire but never be considered upper class.
the Khards have all this money for food but would literally starve if the chef died
Gal Gadot officially ruined that song for me. I can no longer listen to that song without cringing.
Exactly. So tone deaf.
The song was always cringe. It's communist, soulless propaganda.
I would put up with Gal Gadot any day all day just to avoid Rachael Ziegler.
Hearing gates say 'its branded, so...10 dollars?' makes me wonder how cheap was his stuff that he would slap his billion dollar name to?
He is creepy!
More likely, the last time he was shopping for his own food was in college, buying the generic or store brand cornflakes.
@@la_scrittice_vitawasn't his father well off? Atleast to the point where his kid isnt eating Raman unless it's by choice? (Which was a total possibility)
