    Considering he is so old, seems like the guy was finally Goodenough for the prize.

    Possibily the most impactful Prize EVER! I suppose almost every person watching this video is using Li-ion batteries in some form or another.

      Maybe in chemistry, the development of vaccines and golden rice were very important to people's lives too.

      @@earlpottinger671 What is strange is that only one person has ever won the Nobel Prize in Medicine for developing a vaccine. The person who received it was Max Theiler and it was for the Yellow Fever Vaccine (I'm not correcting you or anything, I just think it's interesting).

    Such an honor to work in this area! So proud of the scientific community that is allowing us to power the future with lithium ion batteries and all the new kinds of batteries!! In June I finished my MSc at the University of Warsaw with lithium ion batteries under direction of Prof Czerwinski and dr Hamankiewicz and now I will start my PhD on it also. Such a motivation and an inspiration to see this happening!!!!! 😍📚🔋🎊🎉😎

      Pure Chemistry

      @mariappanmani4112 5 лет назад

      of course, it is interdisciplinary because it is merging physics, chemistry and engineering.

    Why has it taken so long, Li ion battery was created long time back ?

    • @Krrypton
      @Krrypton 4 года назад +3

      It usually takes a long time. Nobels are generally awarded for discoveries and inventions that prove to have a meaningful and large impact, and it takes time to assess that.

      rRobert Smith
      But don’t you think they deserve a Nobel? The lithium ion battery is a world changer, most people nowadays can’t even live for a week without phone or computer. Out of all people they should deserve the Nobel the most. It’s bad enough that they’re recieveing the Nobel decayed late, they should be the ones complaining to the selection committee.
