Lindsey Morgan has directed this episode; this is what she said about the last scene:" That was such an interesting scene because I was thinking and playing with it as like, Everyone's devastated, and Clarke should drop to her knees, and the world ends, right? And then I spoke with Jason about it, and he was like, "You know, in that moment, it's got to be that pure shock. Shock." So, once again , because of Jason, we don't have the bellarke emotional scene that we deserve after seven seasons.

That isn't a realistic reaction from Clarke though she has lost soo many people. In real life you don't just drop to your knees and break down right away not unless you have been expecting to be told they have died because at that point you have had time to process what losing them will mean. In real life if you were told news like that it'd shock first as you try and process what you have been told then the grief of the reality of what that means or denial and anger comes after.

Episode 5x3: Madi tells Bell Clarke's alive. Cut to Monty and then the others looking at Bell like they know the news means even more to him.
Episode 7x7: Gabriel tells Clarke Bell's dead. Cut to Raven and then the others looking at Clarke like they know she'll be even more affected by the news than they are.
I think Monty and Raven know just how much they care for each other, like Octavia does. I actually like Clarke's reaction at the end, and I think it was the right call in that moment. When Bell finds out Clarke's alive, he doesn't have an emotional reaction at first. That comes later.
Both characters have emotional reactions when the other person MIGHT die. Clarke comes in to save Bellamy only to find out she was too late. She was too late to save her mom, and she has the same shocked reaction. She doesn't break down about her mom until later at the end of the episode. If we don't see an emotional response to Bell's death in 7x9 (since 8 seems to be a flashback), then I'll be disappointed.

Yes, I would still love you to update about Bellarke. I still love Bellarke and Bellamy even after all of this fiasco because I love them and not the actors. It's a different thing entirely. Some people would find it hard to differentiate Clarke Bell and Bob Eliza but to me, characters are characters. I love them. And I would love you to update them.
