  • Are you successful? Before you answer, how do you judge that? And how do you measure it? Someone will think in terms of their work and measure their success by how their business is doing or how much money they make. Others will think of their relationships and how popular they are. They measure how their family is doing or how many people like them. But how do we judge if we are a success in God’s kingdom? In Luke 4, we see Jesus’ hometown reject him. By worldly standards, Jesus seemed a failure, but the better we understand the kingdom of God the more clearly we will see that rejection is not proof of failure.
