I purchased an assembled DSO138 along with case kit. But there are no instructions to assemble the case. Now with the help of your video , I can easily assemble the case. Thanks for sharing. It reduced my frustration. Very informative video. Hasnat Bugvi Ham Radio Op "AP2HA" Islamabad Pakistan
I found using rubber bands to hold the 'sandwich' together while installing the long screws and nuts helped quite a bit.
Thanks for a great video! I couldn't have done it without you.
You are welcome. I am glad you fount it useful. Cheers.
Thank you for this very useful video. Since the kit I bought lacked any instructions for the case, this saved me a great deal of time and frustration in assembly. Thanks again!
you are welcome. Glad it helped!
Sir, you're great video and kind voice, continuous to help us in this frustrating task, thank you very much.
Just wanted to say thank you for the tutorial. I did modify your procedure a little, If you assemble the entire top section ( all 4 plates) mount the switches and screw them together before mounting to the main board, I goes much smoother and takes a lot less time.
you are welcome. Thank you for sharing your tip.
Thank you very much for this video, it helps me a lot. Without it, I probably still working on this difficult puzzle.
You are welcome. I am glad that you found my video useful.
Thank you for this video. I lost at least half an hour staring at the disassembled pieces 😀
You are welcome. Thank you for not skipping the ads and keep watching them. This will help me a lot.
Thanks, just got one of these. No instructions. I knew someone on RUclips would have a video. Thanks I’m good to go now. Interesting and well presented. 👍🏽👍🏽
Thanks for putting these instructions up - really helped to get me started and clarified what went where.
You are welcome. I am glad you found it useful.
Very helpful. Thank you! I bought the DSO138 assembled with DIY case kit.
You are welcome.
Thanks for sharing your work. I suppose I could have figured out the puzzle myself, but you saved me a lot of frustration..
you are very welcome.
I thought that the kit was impossible too until I saw this video. Thanks for posting this.
You are welcome.
Thank You for the instructions. I made some changes that I thought needed. First the long bolts. I put the top three pieces of plastic and tighten them with four bolts and four nuts. I then fitted that over the red board and placed nuts on the bottom instead of the top. The reason for this, your way the bottom red board could fall over time. It made for easier installation.
You are welcome. yes we have to find better way. Always.
Thank you dear for this really good descriptions of mounting the case .
It's really a pity because there are no instructions for case into the kit .
I'd never thought, May be my soldering the kit will be working also because verry small instructions for electronics.
But I have had much luck.
The cases construction is really excellent but without instructions may be faster damaged.
So your video was a really good help for me
And now I will take your channel
Thanks from Germany
You are welcome. I am glad you found it useful. Welcome to Robojax channel. Ahmad from Canada.
Thanks for the making the video. I don't know how anyone could put it together without instructions!
You are welcome. I am glad you found it useful.
Thank you, I was very confused until I saw this. I agree with the bolts mentioned below.
You are welcome.
I was able to guess about 98% of the instruction before I came here. Thanks so much for providing this in lieu of the elusive instructions!!
You are welcome. I am glad you found it useful. Please 👍 and subscribe.
Thanks for this video. It helped a lot. I enjoy your videos and learn so much from you. Thanks again!!!!
You are so welcome!
Close, but the second nut should be below the pcb to provide support for the buttons and to keep the pcbs sandwiched.
Thanks for doing this video. Makes sense now!
You are welcome.
Thanks a lot. You save me time!
You're welcome!
Thanks a lot sir for making this video. Your explanation is amazingly good & helpful sir.
You are most welcome. I am very pleased that my time for recording this was not wasted.
Perfect, thank you!!!
You're welcome!
Big help. Thank you!

WOOOOOW We use it!
great. here is my Arduino Step by Step Course (over 100 video lectures) Starts here robojax.com/L/?id=338
thank you!
you are welcome.
It sure would have helped to see this before putting mine together but still an interesting case design. I broke mine in 3 places but still glad I put it in there. The other thing is I should have made my test point much longer as now it is hard to reach inside the case.
Thanks for the video
You are welcome.
Should have looked at this before I started to put my kit together.
Yes. But it happens.
Glad I paid $3 extra to buy the scope with the case already assembled :)
Yes. Employ the money to work for you.
I don't know whether to say, "You Lucky Son Beech" or "I prefer to take the difficult road, Gives me Moxie, and I am able to keep up my cursin' Vocabulary. Perhaps I'm learnin'.Not sure." :-)
@@jlucasound Not so lucky. I find the scope useless for my purposes. Oh well.
@@johninjersey same here.
thank you
You are welcome.
One thought. I found it easier to assemble the display "sandwich" with the slide switch and button extensions then attach the display board to the main board. Order of hardware: bolt through all four plastic sheets, two nuts one up against the plastic, one lower which will touch the main board; install the main board, one more nut up against the main board; bottom plastic cover, acorn nut. Done.
Can't believe I watched that video just to see if make the same mistake I was trying to avoid
😂😂😂😂😂
Has anyone complained about the case four main screws not aligning up with the oscope? I've ordered two of these acrylic cases. First one came in broken and second one I find that the screw holes dont align up with the board. Maybe I have a different version of the oscope.
Dear sir, how can we use it by measuring an AC voltage of 220 volts
Make a voltage divider using 2 resistors so the output voltage from divider is maximum 5V and the measure it.
i bought a DSO138 kit with the acrylic case over a year ago, I never built it but have all the tools available. im not experienced in building electronics but i did a basic soldier repair once or twice taking my time & being careful.
I wanted to give this kit a shot & use this to look at waveforms from a synthesizer . After opening the kit, I noticed this is probably a little complicated to build unless youre an experienced electronics builder. I dont know how to read a multi meter & the instructions say one of the first things to do with this kit is to test the components. Kit was not expensive,so if i break it or build it wrong its not the end of the world, but im not sure what i want to do, So,
I guess im asking opinion of is it worth trying to build, or too complicated for a begginer And better to sell this kit on ebay. I know they sell these already built also But, obviously they cost more built. whats youre opinion??
Even with beginners, some people can do it easily and some with 3 years of technical education in electronic can't do it. So it is how handy the person is. I have explained it at the best of knowledge and have not escaped anything. You should be able to solder tiny item. Here is my video on this ruclips.net/video/Nc3XQakqgn8/видео.html
did you try it? do one step at a time...the journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. :-) check and double check. The main things to check with the multimeter are the resistors and they are easy to assess.
I got pre built kit it is well built but the 150 model is complete with a case and is not much more
Sir, you may want to revise these instructions again. you video is correct up until the long bolts are installed. From the pictures provided with the DSO138, the bolts starts on the back plate then double nutted. The pcb sits on the stacked nuts, then insert the sides and the front acrylic pieces. The acorn nuts are last and are placed on the front plate. hope this helps, thanks for the video!
Are you saying the case I have put it together incorrectly ?
Robojax yes, it looks like your bolts are backwards and the nuts are in the wrong place. However, it really doesn’t matter, since it looks like it is functional. Thank you for video and response!
Actually I agree with the way you have done it rather than double nut it. The way you have done it creates a rigid stand-off so you cannot over-tighten the nuts and damage the PCB
I didn’t get any acorn nuts. Just double the amount of regular ones. And no instructions with mine. So thank you for the video, even if I had to figure it out at the end. It’s enough to figure it out from there. Especially if you have no instructions whatsoever...
where do you get the case

The Acrylic case I got, the prongs on the red slide switch was too narrow. They are breaking off.
it seems multiple sources are producing them and we now don't know who was the original producer. They copied it but did not make it properley.
@@robojax I've order the case from two different sellers. First one sent me broken pieces. The second one snet unbroken pieces, but same slide switches that break off easy. Right now I just took mine apart to remove the side pice so I can reach in there and change switches. Had to do some readjustment on the four Oscope holes to align up with the acrylic case. Very poor quality.
Casing is not available for urgent delivery. Can anyone share Laser Cutting file for the casing. I will be so obliged.
never seen it. you have to purchase it.
@@robojax Oh no. OK Thanks
think my ds0 kit is non genuine, yours brings an authenticity screen up on boot, mine doesnt
I think they added that screen in a firmware update.
I am not suprised that you struggled, you built it back to front. If you had googled 'DSO138 case' there are plenty of instructions to download!
I tried to help people. when you push something online, there are ALWAYS some people don't like this. But look at how many times it has been viewed and how many people got help. Perhaps this is the best video for this item. Unless you make a better one.
rad.
Build is out of sequence. Top acrylic piece needs to be added BEFORE bolts. You will have to disassemble if you follow this video.
Thank you for the comment. I recorded this video long ago and don't remember what I did. But this has been found to be helpful.
well the video does it the hard way, you just need a screw driver and you can do it upside down and that will not take more than 3 minutes !! ,, however thank you for the effort
Your very welcome. It was very hard for me and once learned how to do it, shared it and it has helped 1000s of people.
@@robojax true , it helped me too , thanks alot

I ended up throwing it in the bin. (didn't get any instructions or spacer pieces)
HORRIBLE kit.
yes. NO instruction. That's why I spent my time to create this tutorial. I got 3 tutorial on this product.
Horrible instructions. I had to take it apart because things weren’t lining up properly. The order you do things in is incorrect.
Thank you for your comments. have I put the case in a wrong way? it is perfectly working. Please explain. Thanks
I followed your instruction until you put the reset button in the wrong place. However there is no need for it to have that small offset pin as it creates alignment problems. I glued a piece of acrylic in the cut out. You might have been better editing the errors out rather than correcting them later as people will watch a section and pause it then come back and watch the next section only to find you have made an error making it a more frustrating job than it already is. Other than that I agree with your version of assembly - it makes perfect sense.

You need more training to assemble in correct way. Waste of time to watching this video. Bolt supposed to on top
