Bette Davis was an extremely good actress who had a great screen presence. Every movie and show was made that much better because of her no matter the role. A legend.
I was just commenting about "...Baby Jane"! Wasn't she unforgettable?! Wow, not a lot of actresses could have pulled that off! You'd have thought there was a hidden camera watching these lives play out in real time! The director, Robert Aldrich went on to direct her in "Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte" (which originally costarred Joan Crawford as well but who was replaced by Olivia de Havilland).
Wow! Betty Davis is an extraordinary actress! This short film was outstanding! The main character was very self absorbed. She had no human relationships other than employees providing services for her. It was sad to see her treating her dog as if she were a human! What happened to the employee was horrific.
Reminds me of some folks I see with their dogs. and animals today. Treat these animals like they are human, and some are treated better than some humans?

She was so smart, saucy, sure of herself; a great role model for women. “I’d kiss ya but I just washed my hair!” (One of her funniest lines.) They interviewed a host of famous actresses, and several said she was their favorite actress, the one they emulated. I always thought she was uniquely gorgeous, too. Her greatest role was Baby Jane Hudson in Whatever Happened To Baby Jane which I first saw on t.v. in 1964 the first time it was on tv when I was 16 and I have seen at least 150 times since. It will be on tomorrow 3/2/21 on ME TV at 5 pm. eastern

Y’know, I thought the ending would be that Eddie would actually rob Miss Fox and she would identify him, but nobody would believe her because of last time, so he got his revenge. That would’ve been the perfect ending, I believe!
I thought she was done when she entered that alley. When the black cat jumps it made the cockroach run 9:00 mark, I watched it a few times at half the speed. 😂

The guy she thought robbed her? Sure. Then when it came to be it wasn't him that robbed her, she (seemingly) went to the owner or whoever to get him his job back. Then she apologized, explained what happened and tried to help him by given him what at the time was a bit of a fortune. She did make a mistake and she owned up to that.

Loved those Betty Davis movies 🎥! Combined with Hitchcock suspense, it keeps the viewer on the edge of the seat. Having wealth doesn’t mean it’s ok to be stupid and assuming. She should’ve hired a detective for $500+ to investigate first. And been prepared for her eternity as she was for doggy care. Romans 10:9-10

She shouldn't have said she saw him. She didn't see him. She was wondering why the dog didn't bark, and she had just experienced a guy demanding money from her for someone that had nothing to do with her and him being pissy about it. Yes she did not give him the money out of jealousy, but she was under no obligation to help him. She had already paid him for two weeks of services and he came and demanded yet another week's pay! He did not even ask her nicely for the money for his fiancee. He was a bum. I cannot blame her for thinking it was him that stole from her. She made an assumption that was based on real information about him. Yes he lost a year and yes his fiancee died and that is horrible, however, if her situation was really bad she was going to die regardless of him receiving the money or not. His fiancee's death, is not on Bette Davis' character. She apologized and she tried (if we believe her) to get him his job back and she gave him $500! He makes $70 a week. At the time, $500 would have allowed him to move on financially from this job into another town, but that is not what he wanted. Why even go back to work there? Clearly he just wanted revenge and didn't realize how much of his own attitude led to his problems. Once her body is discovered, guess what? He may run, but he cannot hide. No one is stupid, not even the detective that was grossed out by her behavior, he will know he did it. The media will assume there may be an alleged connection. If there is fingerprint testing at the time, he doomed himself to a life long imprisonment or death penalty because he was angry at her. He was angry at her because after giving him two weeks' worth of money, he came in, was upset about his fiancee, was rough and unpleasant to the person he was asking for money from, and couldn't understand why she would think it was him that robbed her. It was a good couple of episodes. Very enjoyable. I guess the lesson is to not make it obvious to men who work for you, especially if they are younger than you, that you are attracted to them. Don't encourage their flirting either. Also do not flash your money around. Don't walk in dark areas late at night. Be truthful about your account if you are a victim of a crime. It was appropriate to mention what had happened with the young man, that she found it odd that her dog didn't bark at a stranger, but she should have been truthful, that she did not see the assailant, she didn't hear his voice and couldn't determine if it was someone she knew.
