Thank you for the video, I have spent part of April for the last 2 years with my son near Tokyo, and knowing I adore Tree peonies we visited 3 peony festivals around the area last year. I picked up the love of tree peonies from my father who used to grow them in south east England. and I still have a few of his plants. Such a beautiful and under rated plant.
Tree peonies are the queen of the garden. A forest of them is an extravagance one can only dream of they are quite expensive and still hard to source here in the US. The companion plantings set them off splendidly.
I totally agree. I have just one and it flowers faithfully, but nothing like the beauties in this garden. Thanks for watching and for your kind comments!
Hi Mary, that is Lewisia, I'm guessing L. cotyledon, a native of northern California and SW Oregon. It was named after Meriwther Lewis, of Lewis and Clark. There another one at 3:37.
It's lovely. But wouldn't work here in PA. However, I've had such wonderful success with tree peonies. My all-time favorite fall bloomer is Japanese toad lily.

Your channel is so unique. It's my type of content about Japan.

if life is as beautiful as flowers, who would like to wage war. Feeling so peaceful and calm.
Maybe we should start dropping flowers and gift packages on each other?
