tbh i've never been a fan of the 65% version of that board, it seems to have a fairly different sound profile compared to the 60. However, I can recommend throwing in some polyfill to combat hollowness and trying diff plate materials to experiement with diff sound profiles!!!
damn, listening to you talk is so informative, it's great man, good job, if I got these switches in the beginning of this hobby i probably wouldn't have taken up a lubing job and learned from many lubing mistakes and personal preference of how a switch I'd like to feel. Although I've tried like stock switches smooth like tealios, I still dont regret, making mistakes and at the end of the day, finishing lubing for your own build feels like a timeless accomplishment every time. It also teaches you to identify ping too. But, of course there'll be times you just feel so lazy to lube, or getting a switch like this and feeling weird knowing it's not lubed.
I feel like this is kinda misleading, when they asked if it is lubed you just said that it's stock, leading towards the idea that it isn't lubed, but it actually is lubed, just factory lubed. If you want a pre-lubed switch, I would suggest another one. There are multiple companies that have good lubing service so there is really no excuse.

First time watcher. I was blown away by your production quality and clarity of presented information. You've more than earned a click on that subscribe button.
I don't think a 1 time premium justifies these switches. Owning all the tools will allow you to build experience and give you the flexibility try new switches anytime. Not saying they're bad, just that there's more value in owning tools/resources than paying an almost identical price for a one time job. That's just my budget mind take though.
the implication is "hand-lubed," and this was expressly discussed and briefed to each participant. also, i lowkey missed the fact that the clip in the beginning doesn't match the clip towards the middle, def an editing mistake on my part and comes off as deceiving when in reality im just bad at proofing my own work LMAO
Stock means not modded. Lots of switches come with factory lube and people don’t even realize it. Dry means no lube, yet there aren’t nearly as many dry switches out there as people realize!
I know there was a bit of backlash on the duck switches on the yt sound vids Rama posted, but I still went and pre-ordered them anyway, think it's safe to say I made the right choice when influencers are praising it now.
Influencer's are not your friends, including me! While I personally believe in these switches, you should always form your own opinion and take influencers' words as grains of salt. We can be wrong too, ya know! We may be more experienced but at the end of the day what matters is you buy something YOU like and is within YOUR means, not ours!! I'm only here to inform and help make decisions, not make the entire decision for you!
@@AnzelLmao I did make the purchase for myself and didn't mean for it to come across as, "influencers are the reason I make decisions", I chose them as they are unique in a sea of similar switches. The positivity that influencers bring also doesn't increase my expectation of the end product as different batches can have different qualities to them, it just makes me more optimistic and excited. :)
eh this was misleading.. you said no lube in the beginning? and turns out it's actually factory lubed. doesn't "stock" imply no lube whatsoever? "veterans in the hobby believe (that it) was lubed" it literally was tho...
Hi I actually addressed similarly in another comment, but you raise a great point! So basically “stock” implies no mods on my part. Many more switches than you’d imagine have some level of factory lube, it just depends on the application. I disclosed to every participant that there is factory lube in these switches. However, despite that, these are still “stock” switches that don’t need to be modded at all imo. Again, the point is that they feel like modded switches, and many factory lubed switches don’t feel nearly as polished as these. I apologize if this came off as deceiving in any way, I promise that wasn’t the intent. I merely edit for brevity and engagement in mind. If you watch my other videos I frequently make edits and remarks in the comments because I’ll be honest- I slip up fairly often in my edits (granted I always do my best to catch them regardless). It’s why I offer revisions when I edit weddings. But thank you for raising this point, and hopefully people read this comment!
Sounds great but it's so damn expensive wow. Honestly looks a lot like gateron cap v2, would love to see a comparison with those two. (tho gateron cap v2 is a hit or miss on stock)
I agree, these are suuuuper expensive. I still think they're great, but I always recommend getting a switch that fits your needs best, and for many I can easily see why these wouldn't be the best choice.
Wait, wait but they are lubed just not by the end user. When I think the term "stock" in the switch world, that means no lubrication of any kind from the manufacturer. Weather I lube them or I pay some one to lube them or the manufacturer lubes them, then they are not stock. There should be a note here saying pre-lubed from the manufacturer.
@@AnzelLmao I'm a big of fan of MX blacks and Sp star meteor whites so the fact that these are hyper smooth stock is nice but they sound too similar to your average JWK to justify this price for me. Still a very cool switch I could recommend for any beginner or just a lazy person lmao
I don't really think that this is "lowering the barrier to entry" since they're pretty expensive. Not really what I'd recommend to a beginner either, due to the cost and wait. Also personally I think beginners are better off learning how to lube anyways but that's just me. The ducks seem to be a fantastic premium switch but that's all I can really give them credit for.
Yes they're pricy, but beginner is not to be synonymous with budget! I'm not saying that these are the only choice for beginners, but a good one, as they literally feel professionally lubed and filmed. This also allows beginners to lube their first set of switches properly, as they have a switch that provides for them a baseline! I mention this at the end of the video- these aren't a forever switch, and having a reference for lubing means minimizing the risk of overlubing!
@@AnzelLmao They do set a new bar for factory switches that's for sure. But it also makes me feel hesitant recommending too good of a switch to a beginner. They're switches that barely need any modification and I think that cuts out a chunk of the experience.
While I think they deserve a lot of criticism and I understand why people wouldn’t support them, there are farrrrr worse folks in this hobby to support imo. But yes- they deserve criticism for how they’ve been handling keyboard releases and PR.
@@AnzelLmao True there is way worse but I think due to Ramas popularity he's able to crew way more people over. Especially newcomers who don't know any better. I just do my part of cautioning people to RAMA before they are left waiting for years for products without any communication to what's going on.
This video was fantastic first of all, absolutely no hate. BUT this is just too expensive for me. Also, they sound smooth absolutely, but they are really on the thin side. Sound is huge to me. I don't hate that these came out, but I am certainly not hyped. The good thing I see about these switches is that these are innovative, and the price of a switch like this can only go down from here.
I agree, these are suuuuper expensive. I still think they're great, but I always recommend getting a switch that fits your needs best, and for many I can easily see why these wouldn't be the best choice.
I honestly don't understand why you think they're neither really thocky nor high pitched, sounds pretty high pitched to me. But at the same time, I really like that sound so that's perfect
@@UncommonS3nse not implied, I disclosed that these were factory lube to each participant. The conversations were far longer than shown and were cut down for the sake of brevity and pacing, not to be deceiving. If it came off that way I apologize, but that was not the intent.
These are cool and all but like… it’s still an MX clone. I’ve become a jaded old man. I’d much rather see a new ALPS clone than the millionth attempt to make MX less bad. Great vid to be clear, not meant to be having a go at you.
I'd also love to see some love in the ALPS department! I personally like mx far more when it comes to linears and tactiles, but ALPS/SKCM is sooooo good for clicky. Unfortunately pcb designs seem to pay no attention to ALPS, and there aren't many keycap options, so I think there is going to be a slow but eventual fadeout for ALPS/SKCM production. I wish it were otherwise as theyre so damn good, but I guess we gotta prepare for the worst :(
@@AnzelLmao ah I’m just a curmudgeon I suppose. It’s been disheartening to see some people in the community basically cast away things like Lekker switches because the change in design means it isn’t compatible with a lot of MX mods… which IMO is missing the point of the HE design. But then hobbies like these are all about personal preference, so I get that I’m the jerk here lol.

Wonderful video man
They were so nice
yes they were! Nice meeting you at keeblife!
ngl I don't think they are worth the price but thats just me
Everyone's needs are different, and I totally get where you're coming from!
I can’t support RAMA as a company. The worst hands down.
I still think they're great, but I always recommend getting a switch that fits your needs best, and for many I can easily see why these wouldn't be the best choice.
lol@ all the haters in rama's duck switch comments section who will now end up buying the switches
Lol
This video convinced me to stick with Gaterons
I honestly don't understand why you think they're neither really thocky nor high pitched, sounds pretty high pitched to me. But at the same time, I really like that sound so that's perfect
He said they were neither too thocky nor clacky, but leans to high pitched.
@@TheChaosScience ah, my bad then
@@TheChaosScience exactly!

Too clacky

no, you are not in focus!
only downside to cine cams HAHA
I'm a bit confused why you're telling everyone they're 'stock' kind of implying that they don't have any factory lube
stock just means no mods!
Afaik, stock doesn't mean "dry" but instead it's just the experience you get out of the box
@@grubbygeorge2117 I understand, but the way it was being said in some of those conversations was basically implying that they're unlubed.
Not even implied. Literally the first second taeha asks if there's no lube and replied "no"
@@UncommonS3nse not implied, I disclosed that these were factory lube to each participant. The conversations were far longer than shown and were cut down for the sake of brevity and pacing, not to be deceiving. If it came off that way I apologize, but that was not the intent.
dude your videos just keep getting better and better 🥹 come visit my animal crossing home anytime xD
Thank you dianne!!! Can't wait to steal all your flowers >:))
Bro minecraft steve 💀👍
no lies
Hell yeah
WUT
I'm getting milky yellows and a lube station for my first switches and clone gmks for my first custom build.
have fun!
From top to bottom, this was a quality watch. Man, so proud of the absolute legend of a creator you have become. 🤍
You, my friend, are a legend. Thank you again for the support, and I’m proud of you too ❤️
