Aloha from Hawaii! Much appreciate the budget review for 2023. My wife and I are retiring to Hua Hin in a few years and we are always keeping abreast of budgeting. We are fortunate to conservatively have a $5K per month budget, but we would love to try to keep our expenses down 50% if we can.

Aloha again and forgot to ask since I don't think I've ever seen mentioned if there is a cost for weekly trash removal? We have to pay for a service here in Hawaii for 2x a week (but that's because we live on a private road and don't qualify for the C&C pickups).
We don’t pay anything for trash as there is an area at the end of our street where you drop off your trash and they come pick it up. We even have a huge recycling area there as well.
We have never had to pay for trash ever living in Thailand 😀🩵

Thank You so much! Actually, there really aren’t any in Hua Hin other than my friend Gai’s shop in Market Village… that is one thing I miss So much!!!
Anyway, she has a shop on the First Floor as you walk in the big glass doors on the right side when you enter and her kiosk is on the left across from “CC Double O” 😀 She’s the only one that sells the Best stone bracelets, necklaces and Crystals in All of Hua Hin 🙏🏼 If you go, tell her Tracy and Ray sent you 💖 Her prices are very fair too 💫🙏🏼

Hi Guy's, I've had a look at your budget (so useful, thank you very much) I see your expenditures calculate to 2495 usd Your breakup of expenses was a total of 1211 usd (shopping, transport, phones, Internet, electric, rent, coffee & cake, spring rolls etc) given that your extra's totaled 1284 usd (cloths, workout stuff, dentist, acupuncture, massage, gym etc) is that correct? I am asking because I am currently doing my figures for my husband and I to "potentially" make the move later this year/early next year and I really want to be as accurate as possible to ensure we have minimal surprises (except for the good ones that is) - I look forward to your reply. I am quite surprised how expensive gym memberships are in Thailand. Is it that they include everything for 1 monthly rate whereas in North America there is more of an a la carte pricing model?
Hmmm..I think maybe so. We actually paid more in California then we do here though 🤔 But yes, all the classes are included for sure. Personal Training is an extra cost. 😁

Thank you for the budget info. You did not include any costs that you might have to travel back to the USA to visit relatives, etc. We currently live in the USA and travel to Chiang Mai often. Thinking about moving there full time and the airline tickets are the highest monthly expense for us if I break them down as monthly.
It’s mainly because we don’t have any plans to travel back there. We communicate often online through Skype and Messenger..even Instagram and FaceTime actually. It works really well for all of us ☺️🙏🏼

We have the retirement visa and we got an agent in Bangkok to get it for us this time around. It was expensive, but so worth it!
Thank you for your great channel my husband and I really enjoy it. Does the budget include health insurance and visa costs? We are considering moving when he retires this December we also have to bring our dog over from Australia, which is a big decision.
