    When I was a kid the neighbor had a Golden Jubilee sitting in a field ruining. It sat there for years. Was in decent shape. He said it quit one day and he just left it there. My dad had a Farmall Cub for our small farm but I was fascinated by that Golden Jubilee. I practically begged that old man neighbor to sell me that Jubilee so I could fix it up and get it running. For whatever reason he wanted it to sit for 20 more years and ruin. Finally after I was an adult I went rabbit hunting and found the old Jubilee was missing. My guess is he scrapped it during the metal price frenzy a few years back. Terrible shame how someone could just park a tractor for 25 years in the field because it quit. For all I know I could have poured fresh gas in, new battery, and started it.
    Thanks for sharing your tractor. Brought back a childhood memory lol although it didn't work out like i wished.

      That’s a great story! I’ve seen tractors left to rot many times like that. It’s a real shame. They are nice machines. Everyone has different reason I suppose. Wish he would have sold to you!

    Oh lord ,when i was a child ,so many things happen. Remembering the fords we drove and worked the farm with, back at that time, farmed almost 100 acres, alot back then, the 8N, 9N, and the Jubilee's. even had Oliver, Allis Chalmers, but the Fords were the best, all day, half if not all night at times just to get the ground worked. I found me a decent Jubilee,53 that will be at my place over the weekend. A lot of good reading all you fellows are giving, btw the hidden switch is a fantastic idea. Love the post!

    My dad had a Jubilee that took the place of the 8N that he had before, he loved his Jubilee, it had a much better engine than the 8N had. He got a lot of good use out of it, The Jubilee was one of the best tractors Ford ever built. My dad did a lot of good farming with that tractor.

    Helped restore one in Hobart, OK in 2018. It was propane-fueled. The stuck clutch is something we had to hire a welder to fix because the clutch was slightly bent to the left from it being in a barn fire around the 1960's, (that he was aware of and replaced.)That 3-point hitch is exactly like you said, "Good for pulling anything". Not fast, sure. Getting a dually truck out of deep mud? Yes. Slow and steady wins the race. It was a dually funy enough that helped pull a 1985 Case Tractor out of the muddy ditch I accidentally ran up upon. Luckily the farmer didn't kill me right there haha!

    My grandfather had an 8N which he bought new in 1948. In 1968 it was stolen right out of his garage. So he bought a 1953 Jubilee to replace it. He then sold it in 1987 when he gave up farming to move in with my parents. But when he bought it in 1968 my father wired in a key switch, which apparently it didn't have from the factory. He also wired in a hidden toggle switch. Both had to be on to get it started. That way it wouldn't be so easy to steal.

      Sounds like it is running rich. Could be weak ignition (spark). Make sure distributor is operating properly, etc etc. Also possible carb is out of adjustment. Basically sounds like it’s trying to run with the choke on. Make sure the choke is fully closing too. Good luck

Then some of my recent videos, you'll see I've pulled the sheet metal and painted it. Still doesn't look as good as yours though, my sheet metal was rough. ESP the fenders
      My grandpa had a red belly Ford tractor, But I don't remember which it was. I have a box of old family photos, but none of the tractor. If I could find a pic of it, I could maybe sort it out.

    • @ProjectKing
      @ProjectKing 6 лет назад

      Does it black smoke when it’s running rough? It’s possible carburetor is dirty or clogged from old gas. Also make sure fuel tank is clean and that sediment bowl screen is clean. Make sure fuel is flowing to carb through fuel line. If you can find factory specs, adjust needle valves on carb to factory settings. The engines run very very smoothly when tuned correctly. Yours is definitely in need of some tuning or repairs. Good luck!!

      BNSF Bandit start out w/ new plugs Autolite 437, and new points, rotor, condenser, and wires. Gap the plugs, and gap the points. Rebuild the carb is very simple, and fresh gas.

    • @ProjectKing
      @ProjectKing 3 года назад +1

      First clamp the clutch down so it’s disengaged. Take starter off and spray brake cleaner around flywheel. Will need to rotate engine a few times. I drove the tractor around (you can bang it into gear at idle) with the clutch still clamped down. It eventually broke loose and tractor came to a stop. Worked great. Proceed at your own risk! Lol

      That’s a good rule to follow. Unfortunately on a lot of antique equipment that is hard to do. Gotta be aware of what you are doing at all times. (0:

    • @frostythesnowdragon3170
      @frostythesnowdragon3170 6 лет назад

      true but it’s not necessary if you make sure it’s neutral or park as some tractors have

    • @dennismoore1116
      @dennismoore1116 6 лет назад +1

      Not necessary as long as nothing happens? I know of one fellow nearly killed doing just what you describe. Yes the ground he thought was level wasn't quite. Another is dead. I don't recall the Jubilee as having park btw.
      Antique farm equipment definitely needs to be used carefully as they lack safety features of newer equipment. And yes sometimes it is hard to do, but I can't think of a situation where you can't do it in using the tractor. Hard is bad, dead or crippled for life is worse. Use good safe practices and antique farm gear is fine. The Jubilee I use is a fine machine.
