I arrived in the 1st week of ,March. The real progress came when Baker tools released a new and revolutionary tool called a Packer. Once the fire was distinguished and the damaged well head was removed the Packer although experimental was lowered into the tube while hooked up to a mud truck which would inflate the Packer allowing the mud truck to take on the pressure of the well which begin to pump 10- 14 pound Mudd into the well. The Mudd would than plug the perforated holes at the bottom of the stem thus plugging the well. A new wellhead was constructed and a work over rig was used to bring the well back into production. I was present when a Gentleman from Baker tools first came out to a Safety Boss location to try the tool for the first time It was heavy. I helped him unload it . We used a Ventura tube to direct the fire upwards and used a magnesium rod to cut the wellhead off then removed the Ventura tube distinguished the fire stabbed the packer pump the Mudd plugging the well and move on to the next. I was the only one from Texas working as Safety Boss fire support team. I enjoyed working with the majority of them though a couple was arrogant beyond dysfunction. Their Medic Dave Moun ,I hope I spelled that right should have received special recognition for saving lives from heat exposure and other problems. Dave showed us how to reduce our core temperature in short time thus averting serious health crises. I can't say enough good things about Dave who served with honor with the Royal Navy. Great Guy! I thought Mike Miller was a down to earth guy he kept things real and It was a pleasure to work for him. They called me Nomex and if you want to know the truth why just ask. ... ..... .......
I was there. We deployed x-Mas eve 1990 from Fleiglhorst Germany. The guy at 17:14 looks like Richard Pryor. Maybe he faked his death and began fighting fires instead of catching himself on fire. Ha ha.
What you needed was John Wayne! He knew how to douse those oil fires! I saw him do it in the "Hellfighters" where he was Red Adair! He made it look alot easier than these guys did. Scarry job, don't envy you that one!

I was there in 90 91, with the US Marines. We went through the middle of this for 3 days. It was like being in Hell.

Whoever made this and did not mention Safety Boss who, put out more of these fires than anyone else! Had the experience to work with them in 1997.
