I thought about getting a Union Suit because its something you can sleep in and wear stuff over it, But I tend to wonder if are Ancestors worn so many Lairs of Clothes in the Heat then did that ever effect them? Like people would think your crazy today if you worn all that gear!

@@DarkBishop19 The typical dress of someone in the 1800s is about the same as you’d expect. As the video notes, most people wore cotton or linen underwear under their usual clothes, although in many cases men might go without if their pants were lined or if they just couldn’t be bothered. Shirts were cut long to be tucked into the high waist, and on rare occasion shirts were long enough to be tucked under the groin similar to earlier 1700s styles. If a man was not wearing a union suit or similar coverall, he might go without any sort of undergarment under his shirt, though for obvious reasons these were less common to begin with.
Wool and linen breath well and in the case of wool presents a temperature-flexible barrier of hard-wearing material for all year round. Heat and humidity were facts of life, just as they are today.

Interesting video, I always remembered seeing long johns from old cartoons. I do have a question though, I watched your video on old west tobacco but how would they carry their matches. In the video you showed various scenes from movies where they lit the pipe or cigarette with a strike anywhere match, my question is how would they carry them to keep them dry from weather and to keep them from going off by striking against the other matches..which is still a problem with strike anywhere even today when it comes to shipping...which is why the USPS really DOESN'T like to ship them without charging you an arm and a leg from what I gather.
