Most I made was 250$ in 2 weeks for like 10 or 15 hours of work, so here's the thing: Developing is completely inaccessible to younger smaller developers who don't have access to advertising money. Tools to learn the methods of scripting aren't free and easy to understand, but I guess that's because the language isn't easy to understand. Roblox does only pay their developers a fraction of what they make for Roblox, it's part of Roblox's method to promote really good games, by starving the developers of any success for as long as possible and as far as possible, and incentivize trying as hard as you possibly can and still failing because its just not enough. So yes, Roblox does exploit children for their money and time (labor) by underpaying them SYSTEMATICALLY and its just accepted since nobody wants to unionize. Additionally, gambling ran rampant on roblox for literally nearly a decade after it was created because they also allowed alts and robux selling sites to run rampant. Looking back is seeing how brightly their teeth shine in the light.
fun fact: roblox has only around 1,500 human moderators on their site. MOST of their moderation is done by shitty ai systems gee i wonder why child safety is such an issue on roblox

I recommend everyone watch the videos and interviews People Makes Games had made on roblox years ago. The interview they had with a kid who was 11 at the time I believe puts it all in perspective. Hearing a kid that young talk about his experience and everything he had to fight for as if he was working non-stop for almost 40 years over this stuff was very disheartening. There was this one case where a guy was blackmailing underage girls and the staff just refused to do anything about him, they continued giving him a platform to make money on (he was the author of a popular Sonic game). The site was pretty cool up until around 2014 when things started to become more corporate and then since 2020, just about anyone who looks into the inner workings of the site, hates the site. The more time it has been since someone joined Roblox, the more the hate the current state. There have been cases of people leaving the platform like 10 years ago, and then returning to see corporate bs plastered everywhere.

Yeah the predator issue on Roblox is BAD. There was this one case where a guy was blackmailing underage girls and the staff just refused to do anything about him, they continued giving him a platform to make money on (he was the author of a popular Sonic game). He was only finally stopped years later because the police in his state caught him trying to kidnap a child.
Not condoning what Turkey's doing but yeah, after hearing that I kinda want Roblox banned everywhere.

but roblox has alot of bad things obviously. like i love what roblox gave to me in my childhood, hate what it did too. but this game cannot be defended anyway. like roblox being banned obviously is just governmental exploitation, but theres definitely plausible reason.
2016 roblox had samey games but at least the most exploitive games were just "buy magic carpet!" now its like flashing lights lootbox simulator highs. like simulators were disguised gambling but now they literally have that sols rng game which is only gambling. its like if you had csgo trading without csgo.

Roblox has been doing a horrible job at trying to moderate their platform, they fall for any bypass and kids are most likely gonna see these disgusted bypassed assets made by annoying players and I guess the other thing is that people tend to be very offensive on Roblox which might also be why Turkey banned it.

I will have you know, just about every Roblox user over the age of 13 hates the company. The only reason anyone still plays Roblox, is because no one has come up with something better. The site was pretty cool up until around 2014 when things started to become more corporate and then since 2020, just about anyone who looks into the inner workings of the site, hates the site. The more time it has been since someone joined Roblox, the more the hate the current state. There have been cases of people leaving the platform like 10 years ago, and then returning to see corporate bs plastered everywhere.
the irony was back then, it used to go straight back to roblox, because the roblox account was the main way to get things, because only them was able to upload hairs, hats, gears, all things ugc can now do, roblox's own account is where most robux goes to disappear

Well if you think about it, even at a 20/80 split (Not saying this is ok btw), You make addicting gambling games or shocking games that get a lot of press, you're probably still making bank. So in that case, them taking more of the dev's cash is just incentivizing them to make horrific games that cause gambling addictions.
