Wow had no idea it took 3 years to accumulate your cabs, though in retrospect it shouldn't be a surprise given the difficulty of getting some of these and the condition they are usually in. I can't imagine the expense, especially the pinballs. What an achievement. Glad to be a part of this even if in the smallest of ways as a patron.
It's one of my favorite stories in a long time. I'm glad you had the forethought to document it to remind yourself and show us. I could write so much. I wish I had some skills I could contribute. I stink at fighting games, but I remember my first time there, being drawn to the Simpson's cabinet just because of the way it stood out proud. I love the Star Wars trilogy but I still cant beat Boba Fett or Darth.
Watching this makes us all appreciate the games there so much more! Travis in regards to "fight me in the comments for best arcade soundtrack" NOT being Outrun -HNNNGGGGGGGGGG!
Tim here! Finally got time to watch this video. It's amazing to see the starship humble beginnings. I had no idea people were selling cabinets for cheap. Thanks for getting that baby pacman for me too
Glad you thought to document from the very start. I always love getting to peek behind the curtain. Cate, in regards to how far you've gone chasing your dreams: "that's so cute! 🤩"
Loved this video! Seeing a passion project built from the ground up is inspiring. Definitely gave me much more appreciation for certain games that I'll give more attention to, next time I'm at the arcade.
Great video man. I hope you have a walk-through video of the building/space the arcade is in now before you rented it. Keep up the great work; love seeing how it all started!
Great question. Zero electronic background, only went to idiot school aka RUclips. Haha. I knew I needed a lot of practice to run this arcade successfully. That’s why I bought broken games for 3 years before we opened. It forced me to learn how to fix them.
Also, is your Dragon’s Lair cabinet a ROM conversion? I’ve read those laser disk drives in those cabinets would bust over time because they were always spinning when powered on.
Great video, but I never saw a Rastan in the wild and have no nostalgia for it and it sounds kind of mediocre to me. The first one that comes to mind for my is Gyruss, it just fit the game so well and was at least 'sort of' stereo.
Mike be like the Walt Disney of the arcade, it’s all started with one man, one game and a dream! ✨
Vision; you can see it but others cannot until they decide in believing in your Vision. I enjoyed this video.
Man I appreciate your dedication to making your dreams come true for you and your family! I really enjoyed this!
@@solracrod thank you! I appreciate the kind words.
Awesome video! I’m inspired and will definitely be swinging by when I’m in the Dallas area in a few weeks!!
Really interesting to see how you built the arcade over time, great video. I dont know if you could find any cabinet for $500 nowadays lol
I love this, Mike. Very cool to see how it all started!

Awesome video, looking forward to part 2!

Thank you Cat, we love you guys. And I admit, Outrun does have a badass soundtrack.

Rastan OST is great, just gave it a listen! thanks for sharing your story!
Amazing how you just learned on the go to repair and restore the units. That's enthusiasm and very inspiring :D

This is very cool.

What is your background in electronics, or your ability to work on these games with great success?
Great question. Zero electronic background, only went to idiot school aka RUclips. Haha. I knew I needed a lot of practice to run this arcade successfully. That’s why I bought broken games for 3 years before we opened. It forced me to learn how to fix them.
@@ElectricStarshipArcade that's fantastic, thank you for the quick reply! You're videos are great!
@@kevingerding4177 thank you for watching! Still working on getting better at the whole RUclips thing.
@@ElectricStarshipArcade you're doing great, keep it up!

Ooh, for best arcade game soundtrack for me it’s a toss up between The first Ninja Turtles or Mad Dog McCree.
Great video, but I never saw a Rastan in the wild and have no nostalgia for it and it sounds kind of mediocre to me. The first one that comes to mind for my is Gyruss, it just fit the game so well and was at least 'sort of' stereo.
One game with better soundtrack than Rastan might be Raiden Fighters 2. Both are great tho!
Narc. I really wanna find one.
