    My late dad worked for waste water treatment. It’s good for everyone to know how waste water works on day to day basis

    Hmm does the hydrated lime stop the pathogens?

    Interesting. But what happens to all the household and industrial chemicals in addition to the bodily processed pharmaceuticals / drugs that enter the sewer system?

    Wait,how can human poo be used as fertilizer? I thought only herbivorous mammals waste could be used as fertilizer?

    • @DJPhreaky
      @DJPhreaky 7 лет назад +2

      SAMMIsLIFE this presentation didn't go into detail about the activated sludge process. Technically, bacteria ate all the poop and turned it into nutrient rich sludge.

    • @AthensWWTP
      @AthensWWTP  7 лет назад +1

      DJPhreaky
      Correct. The activated sludge process is what treats the bacteria. We wanted to keep this video simple and short. Explaining the activated sludge process would be lengthy and really needs it own video.

      What about the chemicals in the water? They just leave that crap in there so then it turns the fish gay..

      Thank you. Do you have a video of your plant? Would love to see it. We are fascinated with other facilities and appreciate those that are in the industry.

    i love all that poo. Whoops, shouldn't I have said waste?

    • @AthensWWTP
      @AthensWWTP  9 лет назад +2

      There are many words for it. The proper term is "WasteWater", but sometimes we just like to call it poo.

    • @emme6080
      @emme6080 9 лет назад +1

      Athens WWTP poo is the best term
