    Does Big bluestem need a companion species? I'm trying to grow it in Australia with plenty of fert and water but its slow going.

      It shouldn't need fertilizer, but then again, I've never tried growing anything in Australia. :)

    Is there any other name of indiangrass?? Is it belongs to india ??

      There are many common names for Indiangrass; including Yellow Indiangrass and Golden Feather Grass. It is native to North America and as far as I'm aware, not native to India so when the bison roamed in North America this grass would have been growing here.

      E Gama,fescue, lesped 16-Aug 9.70% 59.70% 0.4 has not been frosted

      Indiangrass 6-Jan 7.79% 64.64% highest dom & protein after frost
      Indiangrass 14-Feb 6.95% 54.60% 0.37

      Little Bluestem 7-Nov 6.44% 58.79% 0.3
      Little Bluestem 16-Mar 6.24% 56.92% 0.37

      Mix Native 27-Jan 6.83% 56.24% 0.36
      Mix Native 29-Jan 5.83% 53.53% 0.27 lowest dom after frost

      Note as forage ages there is a tendancy for numbers to go down
      These samples were not pulled in one calander year.
      Samples were pulled after the ice cream was eaten, not much green left.
      No test available on strip sprayed fields but they are more palatable
