Metal Detecting on Achill Island 2020 Irish Birthday Beach Finds

On this video we travelled to Achill Island to see the sights and go looking for minerals on the beach. What usually looks like an easy day out often becomes more difficult when we see the black sand on the beach. The black sand seems to be high in Iron or some other kind of metal so it shows up on the detector. Unfortunately, our kids size metal detector goes bonkers when the black sand is around, which makes and metal detecting near impossible.
If we had invested a few hundred Euros we would have a metal detector that could differentiate between different types of metalic minerals, but alas our cheap little 60 Euro detector is useless... still a good day out at any rate.
I took home some lovely rocks and a huge Quartz rock which I plan to crack open at home, video coming soon.
