Great video and great channel. You should definitely go and have a look at the amazing semi-abandoned circuits in Sicily (Siracusa and the Targa Florio routes, but also Pergusa). Great stories there, connected with F1, Sport car Championships, F3000
@@Circuitsofthepast Wow, great experience!. In 1970, a terrible fire was set after a crash between Jackie Ickx and Jackie Olivier in the corner right behind the pits during the first lap. Fortunately both drivers escaped from the flames.
Thank you for sharing your adventures to these beautiful tracks. A shame blistering rubber wont meet the surface anymore :( I wish i couldve been around to see the glory days of these old circuits. Maybe someone will make some track mods one day for a sim game so we can relive it :)
Great video! The old track is one of my favorites to race in games. Just a small constructive criticism, I did feel the background music was a bit too loud :)
Thanks. It's quite difficult to get the right balance between voiceover and background music. I demped the music to 10%. When I do 9% you almost don't here it anymore.
A big hello from Hungary. Did you have a plan for checking the Brno Circuit before demolision really started? Or another idea. Before the Hungaroring, the hungarian has another circuit for grand prix-es. This track is in a forested park than called "Népliget" or "Folks grove" in english. It's a small track with sharp turns and medium sized srtaights where over take is difficult (I think it was and is a common theme for every tracks in Hungary, the Kakucs-ring, the Rábaring and the most famous, the Hungaroring. All tracks are well knowned for the layout isn't really supports overtaking). The Mercedes and the Auto Union teams are in this GP with all big racers behind the wheel. I hope you find this circuit from my country's past worthy to a video apearence. Thanks to your videos, I learned a lot of things about some old circuits. Like the well known "old" Hockenheimring is actually the 3rd version. Be well and thanks for the great contents.
Jó estét andrás. I already visited both circuits, only it was before I made videos. Here my report of the Brno visit: www.circuitsofthepast.com/brno-masaryk-circuit-2010/ Just checked about a possible demolition of Brno, but it seems to be just rumours. And here a slide show with voiceover from Népliger (peoples park): ruclips.net/video/pS3SSa1kTYY/видео.html Greetings from the Netherlands.
Ciao Herman. I wish you a fun weekend on this track. 👍
Grazie!

Thanks. These circuits at Sicily are on my to do list.
Excellent Herman, I hope I can visit any of these legendary tracks one day. Some years ago I visited Jarama, north of Madrid. Regards from Argentina.
Thanks. One year ago I saw Jarama from an airplane :)

Very nice video! I wish you could've superimposed the current layout on top of the old one, just for reference, and to better understand the scale.

@@Circuitsofthepast
Heel erg bedankt!
You really are the best circuit historian.
Goedenavond.
un vero peccato che il circuito sia cosi' corto oggi...
Yes, but it is still a cool race track.
@@Circuitsofthepast sure..but i am a nostalgic...😊
Current circuit and grand stands make the place looks boring and uninteresting.
@@tekpic04 You have clearly never driven at Zandvoort. It is a beautifully challenging circuit with fast corners and height differences.
