    As we don't tow a car or take bikes, I'd love a copy of your list of 37 sites !! All being well and if allowed to do so by July, we have booked Moffat for our way up to Scotland and also for our return. We also have friends that live in Hightown, near to you and so Southport would be good for another time to meet with Ann and Clive.And York, I want to do them all !!!!

    Dulverton is a great site, nice pitches by the river and a nice village. The Thai restaurant was great last time I stayed there. We took a trip into Exmoor and to Tarr Steps, roads were a bit narrow but worth the trip!

    Great vlog, love to see the places you visit. Can't get Su to Scotland though, rains to much.
    Two of our best sites are Castleton and Hawes.
    Bob I have to include this. Just made a fantastic omelette as per your instructions, really chuffed feel like a master chef.👨‍🍳 I have the Tf Gear toaster, similar to your ridgemonkey.

    Love Castleton, especially at Christmas time. We’ve also stayed at Morton in Marsh which is great for the town and on the train line for Worcester and Oxford. I’d also say Bath Marina, which is quite a walk into town, but a nice setting next to the river.

    We normally use Moffat to break the journey to and from Wales to the Highlands staying a single night. This year we tried to do likewise and discovered that there was a minimum stay of two nights, even in midweek, last week in July. We checked to see which C&CC sites in Scotland could be booked for a single night. Only one, Dingwall. The rest of our week we managed to book 5 single nights at Caravan Club sites (including weekends) and two nights at independent sites. Very disappointed as we love Moffat, we only have a week so don't have the luxury of staying two nights each way. I always thought touring was the name of the game.

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  3 года назад

      The Camping and Caravanning have had a policy of two nights minimum at most of their sites as long as we can remember. It stops us using their sites for stopovers too!

  • @TheSwithy

    Hi Bob & Jenny, any chance of sharing the full list, we are always looking for decent sites near small towns, some of our favorites are Cheddar, Moreton-In-Marsh, Tewksbury all very short walks it would be interesting to see if they are on your list and where, another few are Thirsk & Warwick & Woodstock & Bristol but Bristol & Woodstock are closing and the Warwick site isn't that great.

    Hi Bob and Jenny. We too love Moffat. We were there several times last year as it is less than an hour away from us. We have the feeling of being away from home without a long drive before and after. Also, Moffat is a lovely little town.

    We always check out the area on Google before we book along with disabled persons facilities. Our preference is a pub and eating place very close by then a town and if possible the efficiency of the local public transport. We don't mind driving to the area's tourist attraction's and garden's and monuments, though we didn't miss the car when holidaying on the Isle of Wight as the public transport was brilliant. Please note, there is no free public parking on the Isle of Wight.
