I was looking at the DJI Pocket Osmo 2 but now I think I'll look into this gimbal instead. Love all the features of the app. Don't remember what phone you used, I have the Android on Samsung S20 with Armor case that makes the phone about twice as thick, so have to check the acceptable phone dimensions. Great review. Thanks much. Oh, forgot to ask, is there a tripod screw mount on the gimbal?
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts. Yes there is a screw at the bottom and it comes with small tripod and selfie stick. I still will be doing comparison of top three gimbals in a week just to be absolutely sure. DJI OM4, Moza Mini MX and this one... I’ll also show Moza Mini P. Those are the top this year I had a chance to review... But I do fully agree. Those features are amazing and pretty much has everything. I tested it with Samsung galaxy S 10+

The wide angle lense of the 12ProMax is on the exterior of the phone. I am wondering if it allows for NOT interfering with the view. The phone is 228gr. I don’t want to add counterweights. Love your Chanel

I use an Android phone and film a colony of cats that I take care of and wanted to try and improve the vids with a gimbal.
I just bought what seemed the most popular (dji om4) but if I had saw this review and being I have an Android I would of likely purchased this Gimbal after watching....I always seem to learn the hard way 🤔🤔

This is it finally 😂 a portable light gimbal with very minimal sacrifices ,after haven't own 3 different gimbals(Smooth Q,Moza Mini Mi & Smooth Q2) I'm looking to get this .. sorry Smooth Q2
I have been looking for a smaller smartphone gimbal that has the focus wheel on the side, like my Zhiyun Smooth 4. I have been spoiled with that wheel. So this doesn’t work with Filmic Pro? If not that is discouraging. I don’t want to use a gimbal that isn’t compatible with Filmic Pro. I feel Filmic Pro does better than other apps, and phone camera. I saw that you said it works with Filmic Pro, but does that mean the focus wheel does as well?

Hi Zdenka. I received my Aochuan Smart XR yesterday and have been trying it out. I am using my galaxy s10 plus with it. Seems to work pretty nicely, I like it. I did notice however when switching lenses, it only let's me use the standard and ultra wide angle. It does not give me the option to use the telephoto lens. I have heard from multiple people that the XR let's you use all lenses, but I am unable. Maybe it's just operator error. Either way I really like the XR, just wish I could use the telephoto lens also. Thank you again for the review.
After having a bit more fun with my new Aochuan XR, I have found that you can use all camera lenses so long as you do it in your native camera app. And that is ok with me, I don't mind. The AC Play app is a pretty good app with lots of features that i am exploring. I am also going to download Filmic Pro app also, looks like it has alot of features that I want to use and also I will test it to see if all camera lenses can be used in the app. Thanks again. I hope this helps someone else. I really like the Aochuan Smart XR.

Darn, I Only film in 24 FPS…(and w/anamorphic lens).. Need a filmic pro integrated 280-300g payload gimbal..(android and iOS)

They don't say their name properly in any marketing they have online as far as I can see. I have a tripod of theirs and it's a big shame they haven't put their name out there, I mean it's easy to mispronounce so branding 101. They seem to have the products that deserve proper brand recognition

hi very nice to meet you ! in the video you described a counterweight problem.... may l suggest although it's not beautiful solution but maybe it works if you want to use the filter : there are reusable rubber zip ties, Dura-Tie DT13bk or Q.Knot cable ties that stick to your phone without damage, use your counterweights that you have or use your imagination for something else that is approximate weight of your filter lens. measure the weight of the filter lens you're using then put the counterweight on the opposite end of the phone. using reusable zip.tie, zip.tie a ink pen or ice cream stick to the phone, then use another zip.tie to secure the counterweight. Or just simply zip.tie the counterweight directly to the phone.... with the pencil or ice cream stick you can adjust the counterweight to get it just right....

Thank you for reviewing this, I have been waiting for someone to review this since I found this gimbal about a month ago. There was literally no coverage of this gimbal that goes in depth as you did. You showcased the app well, I didn't know you could lock the Exposure, that is a huge plus and it really makes me want to use the app instead of using alternatives, and changing the lens? Wow, this gimbal is very robust! That mic test sold me this gimbal. Thank you again!

Hi, Zdenka! I am not a linguistic expert, but I think the name AOCHUAN has to be pronounce like Ash-one (One, like the number 1). But you are right! Let the company give you the right pronunciation!!! And, as always, I Love the way you explain the specs of the products you describe in your RUclips channel!!!
And plz mamm, don't give any fake information and features as well of this gimble..... Lock mode is not working... I I switch to Lock Mode and start moving the the pan and tilt axis also work ....usually in Lock mode all axis should be locked...but it's not happening to me..... I m really very disappointed to this gimble
This looks like a cross between the dji 3 and smooth 4, looks like it’ll handle wide lenses better that the smooth 4 and got more controls than the dji but not being able to use filmic pro is a downer.
Counter-weight suggestion: choose a desired weight Phone holder; Plastic or aluminum e.g. Ulanzi Brand
Mmh I love colour. Almost tempted to forgo the DJI 4...almost, but I'm still going for the latter, especially because I can't get the 24fps with android.

For an Android user I find it only so-so. It says it's doing a firmware upgrade but never moves off 0%. Sometimes the menus work and sometimes not. I'm trying to live stream with the gimbal and I think I've solved most of the lousy picture quality issues. Not sure if I will keep this one or not. Will give it a few more days. My phone is a Motorola Moto G Stylus 2021.

This is my 3rd gimbal. I'm dismayed that there are not more android compatible units. But I just got this one and will give it a try. Your video is very helpful. I cannot find any way to tell if the battery is fully charged. No indicator anywhere that I can find. But, will press on and see how this works for me and my android!

Be honest I think all of them are winners. We all get caught up about the equipment but it really does matter what are you doing with and what do you see through the camera that’s what matters the most.

For the counterweights, a pendrive or an OTG will do the trick. Even the type C to 3.5mm converter cable that comes with phones will also be able to balance certain external lenses. For balancing heavier lenses, some cheap earphones can also be connected.

I’ve used rubber bands with hardware plumbing washers as counterbalances on different gimbals. Not very pretty but a cheap effective solution.

Hello Zdenka, I bought the Bomaker version( the same gimbel ), there app is on Android play store as iSmart Go. This works fine with Aochuan model, has 4k 24fps & 60fps! Regarding your balance problem, there are small-ish spring loaded clips with tripod bush, which may solve your problem on Amazon, I have tried with my Redmi Note9s and clears the gimbel OK. Thank you for your videos, much appreciated, I visited Brno in 1971, very different from now !

Just look up how to film in different frame rates
i followed your review with attention and bought it (instead of the OM4) as i have android phones....so far my xperia 5 II can film in 30f+24fpsps (4k,180,720) , no 60 or more fps (but i have the sony app for that), no clue how to update the firmware (no info nowhere,no button in the firmware section), slowmo is in 720p and ?? slowed (intelligent mode, no clue) and can t use both front/back lens while filming, the xperia 5 II can be blocked in the inception mode if the gimbal is not totally straight (21:9 ratio phone?), so far i can use more thing that i could expect and probably more than the OM4, your review decided in my choice and so far, so good. thx.

Hi Zdenka! First of all: I subbed your channel because of your very clear and structured way to explain.
You are a RUclips-Lady that deserves to earn good money with it, hats off to the way you got there, including Modelling/Photography.. (yes, I watched quite a few of your videos so far ;-))
Now to my main concern in this comment: I bought this Aochouan Smart XR for my new Galaxy S21 Ultra. Phone is at 230 grams, but it handles the weight quite good.
The only thing missing (besides the 24fps) is the anti-shake mode! That's too bad, as your test of it shows a big change in video stabilization..
And I can only pick ultra-wide and normal lens. Samsung has these as only ones available in native app "pro mode" .. maybe will be "free for all" after some updates.
Ah, and that multi-lens-shooting is not available either, minor fail.
But I'll keep the Gimbal anyways (testet Nimbal V3 with horrible wheel plus no grip and FeiyouTech with bad apps..). It has this wonderfully working Focus-Wheel!
And I will learn a lot from you, looking forward to all this. Great help for my new B-Roll attempts for my FPV-Freestyle videos on my own channel ;-)

Bought it for my Galaxy S20 Ultra.
Phone is too big for it, so it touches the Gimbal when moving in some directions. Also the App has serious problems with autofocus. Works very slow, sometimes not at all. If I knew that, I would not have bought it.
One more thing in addition: With Galaxy S20 Ultra there is no motion timelapse. It only makes a motion (programmable) Video in normal speed. This is not very useful.
I really have to say that I am very dissapointed. I expected it to be better with Android then OM3, but this is not the case.
Too small for my Phone, poor, nearly useless Focus, no motion timelapse.

Good news. Look on Google Play store for an updated version of the app... Get the Ismart Go APP. It's the same app, but for the Bomaker Branded version of this gimbal (identical hardware) but has an update to version 1.5.1 from Jan 7 2021, 24 fps shooting, and works better. Even has firmware update, but I would be cautious about trying that, especially since it shows same version as already on the Aochuan Gimbal

I am sorry this is a very old video and I don’t have that gimbal anymore. There is a possibility that the app has changed since that time or your phone is simply not comfortable. I would suggest contacting their technical support

lovely video. Thank you. I bought it after watching this. Love the wheel for focus but don't use it as its so difficult to get out of it. Hovely bit of kit for the price. BUT the rechargeable battery is slightly modified and longer, not the standard 81650 battery, and there are no suppliers. What? What are aochuan playing at?

I am liking this gimbal, but can find no documentation on whether it is compatible with my older LG G4 phone. This phone has served me well and I have no desire to buy a new one at this time. Most Android phones don't do 4k video. I guess Aochuan is a niche market. Re: counterbalancing, have you tried placing the phone off-center?

If you watch right till the end I will be talking about android limitations. You can do absolutely everything like iPhone has but you’re not going together 24 frames per second filming.... unfortunately

What is the best gimbal for the galaxy note 20 ultra? I have the smart xr and the phone sometimes hits the edge of the gimbal when I use the 3rd axis. Am I doing something wrong?
Your phone might be a little bit too big for it so that’s the issue. You have to try come up with different moves and if it’s not gonna work that it might not be the right choice for that phone.

Counterweight, use a rubber band with a metal nut. Rubber band goes around phone and nut is tied onto elastic.
I have an iphone 12Pro Max. Is this a viable gimble for my camera? Hope so.
It could be a little bit too big but he could handle it just look at the maximum payload

Japanese translation is very useful. If you want to balance the weight, you can easily get a plastic part that can be used as a tripod for this gimbal at a low price.
