Anytime the "What is going on?" feeling hits, I know our boys (any of the ones I've claimed as my "adopted" kids, lol) have completely blown my mind.
They're such sweet guys, but man do they fill up a stage with KQ-worthy talent and energy!! If anyone ever thought that ATEEZ was a fluke in any way, there's certainly no doubt now -- KQ knows what they're doing. I seriously love that company almost as much as I love the guys they've brought into our lives.
It was briefly mentioned below, but Xikers' lore is that they're hikers who travel through space and time (X referring to the "unknown" in equations & coordinates, plus "ikers" from "hikers").
Their concept is Korean goblins, at least for this album (we don't know at this point whether that will carry over). The Korean title for this song -- 도깨비집 -- means "Goblin House". Western culture has a different idea of "goblin", though, so a lot of Korean entertainment will do things like this to make it easier to understand the concept. To be as simple as possible: Korean goblins are trickster spirits who can be helpful or harmful; they're known to "target" a person to have fun with, and as long as the target goes along with their fun then they'll be rewarded with things they want/need (as we see in the video, there's success in the claw game, money, car); if the target fails to respond as desired, however, things can go sour pretty quickly; rewards may be real and remain even when the goblins aren't there, or they may be imagined; the goblins themselves can be seen at will by their target and others, can transform into blue fire (which may also be used to mark territory or be used as a warning of goblin presence), can show themselves to others or be invisible, etc. At the end of the MV, they have transformed into the brooms/brushes.
** I do not usually bring up other reactors in channels like this, but I make an exception in the case of Xikers (especially for "Tricky House") because "itsANDYandJAS" did such an amazing, detailed review of it that used their personal knowledge of Korean culture (they are Korean) to give insight that I never would've gotten otherwise. They note things like certain lyrics that actually come from theme songs for children's shows, etc. I highly recommend watching their reaction to the MV because it will definitely help you understand better than my quick run-down above. **
I absolutely love what you said about keeping an open mind about genres. We have such amazing artists, and even within a single album you can often find more than one "flavor", so I always feel like it's worth it to check out at least 5 songs by any Kpop artist before deciding I don't like them overall. Oddly enough, I don't usually have to do that with English-language groups, since they have most often stuck within one or a few genres and I can tell pretty quickly whether or not I'm going to enjoy their music.

You should check out Xikey! It’s my favorite song on their album. It doesn’t have a mv but they have performed it many times. It sounds completely different from Tricky House or Rockstar. They are very versatile for a such a new group!
