The primary focus of this women's desire what to obtain someone who done all these things and more. Her desperation made her selfish, knowing being mean was a split min of time, that could be fixed and apologized for. But this moment with him, would be short and eternity from him. Wouldn't you give anything, even if it was to wait 3000 yrs do anything to see there face? Hear their voice, and speak with them for 1 hr if it meant breaking a child's dream, only to return and apologize to the kid to explain why you were so cold? If we see in the movie, her face showed a certain surprise when the child talks about the women's past, and how inspired she is by this goddesses devotion to 1 man. As if she were seeing a reflection of herself, from the past. But then you see where if she grows attached to this child, she would lose site and focus of her goal that she desires. So her own objection is to be this cold person who strikes deals. Knowing money talks and bullshit walks, but the true of heart, like this little girls will make her more determined to find what she needs to obtain her loved one again.
