Hey John something you might consider. Update your trolling motor to one with spot lock. I noticed often times when you catch a fish that in the process of landing a fish that your boat drifts into the area where your targeting Also you won’t have to worry about drifting into shore. It’s also helpful when drop shot fishing. Appreciate you sharing your adventures , tight lines brother!
@danneyspain251 I was shopping for a new trolling motor and I decided to try my first minnkota. While I was shopping I realized how many fancy options were available. One was the spot lock feature. It also had a feature where you set it to a specific depth and put it on continuous and it would follow that depth without me having to even have my foot on the pedal. In the end I just went with the equivalent of my motorguide that I was using. I like this one better so far.
Nice video, John. You should try throwing a chatterbait more often. Use the same paddle tail swimbait as a trailer, just in a more natural color like green pumpkin. The big ones bite it.
@caskdrumcraft If I'm still doing this in 2025 I think I'm going to start trying different lures than I normally use. I have a small group of baits that I throw in the spring and a slightly different group that I throw in summer and fall. They are my confidence lures but in order to try and make the videos more entertaining I think I will encourage people to make suggestions like yours and then I will try a few each time I go. I will try to throw different lures every day. A guy named Tony recently offered to share some tips which I assume involved lure selection too. This channel is all about trying to entertain and I think that would definitely be entertaining.
Great video! I really enjoy what you're doing 👍
@frankmccutchen4410 thanks Frank.
