    I don’t understand how people go all day without switching their stance. It’s done wonders for my back.
    At first it was a little scary, but now I sometimes forget what my real stance is.

      That’s awesome! I’m excited that switch riding has been integrated so well into your riding.
      I think many people worry about what others might think of them, instead of improving their skills

    I ride goofy, but on more shallow runs, ill ride switch for a bit then switch back to my normal stance, even if its just for a few turns, I have noticed drastic improvement in my riding ability and comfortability. Great points and good video!

    I had to learn switch mostly to alleviate the pain from previous injuries and the fatigue factor from only riding regular all day. There’s a sense of accomplishment and I think it’s helped me improve my overall riding. Like going from a oval left turn NASCAR track to a FORMULA 1 circuit track with new tight turns and chicanes.

    • @AdventureLife365

      Exactly, there’s definitely a sense of accomplishment with learning similar skills switch. And it’s a great way to even out fatigue on your legs too. Both great reason to ride switch 👍

    I started riding switch all day to slow down because my main riding buddies were slower than me. After 5-6 days it no longer worked. Now I kind of forget which way is my normal stance… until I jump into the trees ;)

    I'm riding regular. Self-taught 36 year old (thanks to guys like you on YT, Tommie and SnowboardAddiction) I'm started last season only :D I can also ride switch but I feel my hips/knees/lead shoulder movements are over-exagerated lol I can carve but definitely have to concentrate on what i'm doing as opposed to riding regular because I oftentimes catch an edge riding switch :)

    • @AdventureLife365
      @AdventureLife365  Год назад +1

      That right! Riding switch makes you think through movements more, but overall really focuses you. Snowboard addiction had some great stuff on YT too 👍
      Honestly, I still catch an edge here and there (it happens to everyone) keep practicing, it’ll make a huge difference if you routinely implement switch riding, and thanks so much for watching the video!

    I learned to ride switch a few years ago (i go 2 weeks a year) and now I'm just as good, if not better, riding switch. And it's an amazing feeling. If I ride for a long day I notice i'll start leaning back. So I'll change to switch and I'll be perfectly balanced again.
    I now ride normal and switch during every run because it's so easy now I don't care which foot i put forward. Can HIGHLY recommend and wished classes would learn you sooner.

    Malcom Moore has the best exercises for riding switch. I highly recommend checking that video. I was riding switch blues last weekend after practicing those exercises for a couple or runs. And was having much from the top after wards going flat 180s, 360s (ground not air) and just felt so bad ass my regular riding opened up so much.
    ... then I ate it on my last run of the night and injured my MCL lmaooo. But that wast from riding switch, it was from trying to do too much on the last run out to the parking lot... smh

    • @AdventureLife365

    Unfortunately due to knee pain I have to ride with fairly large posi posi angles which makes riding switch not a lot of fun to be honest.

    • @AdventureLife365
      @AdventureLife365  Год назад

      Everyone has their own style, so if you ride posi posi I don’t think switch riding is an important skill for you 👍. I’m not sure what is causing your knee pain, but I’d try a bunch of different angles to see if any other binding angles work for you as well

    I have a directional shape board with an aggressive stance angle. Switch is possible, but not comfortable.

    • @AdventureLife365
      @AdventureLife365  Год назад

      I get what you're saying. The directional board isn't too big of a the deal when riding switch you just have to learn what adjustments to make on your board. However, your aggressive stance could be problematic depending on how aggressive your stance is.. What angles do you ride at? Have you thought of trying to get into park riding?

    • @AdventureLife365
      @AdventureLife365  Год назад +1

      That’s a great way to mix switch into your riding. By riding switch on green run and easy sections you’re allowing yourself to rest part of your body and still giving yourself a challenge even when the terrain is easier. Great job! I like to work in switch riding the first few runs of the day or whenever I’m riding with someone a little slower than me. That way it keeps me engaged and always improving something

    i really want to, but im only riding for like 10 days every two years, so i kinda dont want to spend this time learning how to ride from square 0. but im also riding goofy, so basically for 99% of the snowboarders out there, im already riding switch haha.

      I understand where you’re coming from.. it WILL improve your regular riding as well (goofy for you). And I’m sure you’ll pick up on it fast! It’s not as though you’re starting from 0 because you already know how to ride, and you improve it very quickly

      @@AdventureLife365 i did make the effort before to learn it, but after 2 days i gave up bc i didnt want to spend my very limited time learning and not having the fun i could have.
