Amazing explanation but Consumer Confidence Survey is a bimonthly survey and not a quarterly survey.

A population of over 130crore, survey sample size 6000, statistical significance can't get higher than this...

App 13000 people were surveyed in mood of the nation polls.
In your logic, the statistical significance would ought to be questioned

@@npd9758 yes... every other week n number of so called surveys take place over mainstream news chanels each claiming to be number 1, same thing happen on social media platforms, so no matter what statistical significance of such surveys will always be lower. Nothing more than a means to sway the gullible lot of the society.

@Charu and may I ask how it is linked with consumer survey? can I also ask you to do a quick little excercise? if you are representing a middle class family just like me and similar 70% population of the country, just quickly formulate your income to expenditures ratio for both post and pre-covid, and then compare the results. You don't need to tell me the result, you yourself will be able to tell the standing of our economic situation, without relying on some third hand info, which is derived from the data you can't access to perform statistics upon.

@Charu statistics is far more than just comparison... and there was a time when India used to get compared with developed nation rather than rest of the nations of Indian subcontinent. So, there will always be a country whose economic indices won't hold up with our nation. And highlighting a fall in global indices doesn't mean celebrating it, these are regarded as cause for concern. Indian parents lecturing their children for poor performance in exam and compare them to neighbour's child, it doesn't mean they are celebrating it. Or if we go by your logic can I also say that you comparing India with neighbouring nations, a sort of celebration that they are not performing well? To what extent is it OK for the child to say look there are also other students that failed the exam... And it is a general rule of thumb for progression, you compare yourself with those ahead of you not of those who are behind you.
