Great video Russ, looking forward to trying it out on my spindle sander, we’ll need to see what other things you come up with for it. I’ve only had mine for a couple of months but I seem to use it more and more often. Have a great rest of the week take care

Interesting but I agree it’s more complicated than it needs to be. I look forward to see what you do next on improving it and other interventions you mite have

I now have a project for my sander! I have a Triton and the dust collection port alone doesn't seem to do much. I need to look inside and see how it is supposed to work. Thanks Russ.

I suspect you can build an above table collector and split the upper and lower since there is only a lower chamber. Let me know and thanks, Dave.

I don't remember who it was but one content provider here on YT did discover that using an upper rear hose similar to your plenum, did improve dust collection, BUT it was on the later Ridgid model than yours. I wonder if the other chamber was eventually eliminated in production. Good information. At the very least it guides us to really dissect the dust collection arrangement on other power tools if improvements are desired.

It would work if the upper chamber was better sealed. then just a hood would be needed. I tried the hood, but it didn't work (not enough vacuum). Tanks boomer
