Saying Bighit wasnt mainstream was being generous, they almost went bankrupt and at some point all the members were told they needed to move out because money was so tight and there wasnt any flow of income coming to the company. The rapline refused to leave saying they had nowhere else to go and Bighit was able to pull one more loan to keep everything together. Like they were literally dirt poor because they used all their funding on production
their debut was literally possible because of that loan, and now they are THEEE BTS. like that’s insane to me. they worked their asses off for every bit of success they have now.
@@dennisnel8825 it was a venture capital firm called SV Investment. when the funding term expired and they exited big hit in 2018 it was covered by the news in korea a lot. it’s insane to me bc SV’s initial investment was $3.6M (30% stake in BH) but ofc after all of bts success until that point, the investment had turned into $75M (which is 29 times profit).
BTS did have rules to follow but they had a lot more freedom than other groups in other agencies. Especially when it came to writing and producing. BTS were really unique in that aspect as they were involved and contributed to their music but this was not common for Kpop idols to do. The main difference between BTS and other idol groups is that they are hip hop lovers and rappers who just happen to be in an idol group whereas others are regular idol groups who just include rap in their tracks. A distinct difference.💜
8:03 I get the grind and hard work, but please do remember to rest when you need to because if you get sick or down, you won't be able to do everything you need to do. So make sure to self care every now and then. Love how you find inspiration in these stories. They inspire me too and help motivate me to keep on going.
I really enjoyed your reaction! Especially when you said that it’s a good thing they’re going through this as a team instead of individually. As Suga said, it’s a relief that they are together and that they are seven. 💜Thank you so much for your interest in getting to know BTS.
Note that the ages mentioned in the documentary are their Korean age, which is usually 2 years older than their actual age (international age). 😊 so if they say they’re 20, most likely they are 18 at that time.
Aneesa is the ARMY that put this together, she's a professional video editor, and she included information about the KPOP industry for context, and to compare and contrast to BTS's experience. BTS's agency gave them artistic freedom and the members were involved in every aspect of their art. Many KPOP agencies were more controlling and used methods that weren't healthy to control their artists. And the general KPOP business didn't give their artists artistic freedom, or encourage them to write and produce their own music. Keep that in mind. What Bang Si-hyuk was doing was very innovative and unheard of in the KPOP industry, and BTS were the only Idol group at that time (and to this day that I'm aware of) that were bringing classic Western Hip Hop to the KPOP Idol industry. It was who they were and still are at their core. For that reason they got backlash from the Underground Hip Hop scene and the KPOP Idol industry. They were blocked and put down, told they won't make it. This is a great docu-series, and it takes you through their journey in their own words, and with their own content.
Omg! You’re Actually reacting to RISE OF BANGTAN by the inimitable Aneesa?!?!😍🤩 Thank you! ~ Take your time- there’s so much concentrated info, you might miss stuff or smush stories together!😂 #peace
Please continue with the other episodes as well. It is very apparent that RM is very optimistic from the very beginning. BTS has a very strong leader and I believe he is instrumental for BTS success in the west. His command of English is excellent and is a poet thus the master lyricist. BigHit Bang PD saw in him the intelligence at a young age and immediately sign him up . Thus, BTS was built around him.
Just wanted to say...this being older the stats on shows is a little off. For the PTD-LA and LV, tickets for all shows sold out in about 15 minutes. They had to cancel general public sales because ARMY snatched those tickets...6 shows in LA, 4 in LV, stadiums, not arenas. Its a bloodbath getting tickets!
The industry is big and has become even bigger. There are some more numbers later. What is essential that since ca. 1994 (or perhaps a little earlier) there have been a million people till somewhen in 2013 trying to get into one of those labels/agencies and debut as Idols. There were a lot less people trying to get into BTS/sign with Big Hit Ent. . I mean at the audition Taehyung went into were what? less than 10 people? The label was really small and in debt, too. The song was BTW "Swimming Pools" by Kendrick Lamar. JK was still 13 when he signed his trainee contract. (the way of counting age was a little different - officially it recently changed - but that applies naturally not to already recorded stuff. You are 1 year old when your born - counting the pregnancy or maybe the year that you are beginning and growing a year older on the beginning of the Lunar Year so that everyone born in the same year is also the same age. Which is also kind of important as they have a ranking system and you can only be truly equal to another person when you are born in the same year.) BTW there is a small misstake. Suga (Min Yoongi) was signed in 2010 as a trainee not 2011. Not sure why he made that misstake. Maybe he was nervous - IDK. He also had an idea to be a professional basketball player but decided on music and the accident kind of closed the idea of the other career forever, too. There is a trick to catching the hat... look closer. It's quiet fun but at shows they tried to expose it. The series gives a lot of context but the episodes are also thematic. You can learn a lot from them. I did. You nice! Keep going! 💜
New to your channel and Loving your reactions 💜 you're smart funny positive driven hard-working all the good stuff for success, I didn't have kids but I'd be so proud if you were my son! Much love to you 🤗💜🇨🇦
I just subscribed to your channel. I thoroughly enjoy your BTS reactions. Rise of Bangtan will let you know their ups and downs. Very emotional roller coaster. Please also react to their live performances. This is the Mic Drop/Idol performance. You will see how lit and energeized the boys are during their live performances. The are masters of the stage: ruclips.net/video/gMTHl2A7164/видео.html - MIC DROP / IDOL ruclips.net/video/aNu0DEWPuL0/видео.html - Dionysus/Not Today You will absolutely enjoy this. Once you have seen their lives performances and you're ready to be mind blown, it will be time to watch BTS 2019 MMA performance. I won't say much more than . . You're welcome! 😃😃
