I have the 10th Gen in silver, 256gb wifi + cellular....so many people bash this because it does not support the pencil etc but for anyone not fussed about the expensive accessories this is actually such a lovely ipad and you can do so much. I make digital art on procreate using a £15 stylus! I have a keyboard folio that cost me £35 and works great. I use this for Multiple work tasks using microsoft 365, meetings on this are so good as it has a landscape camera. not a gamer but I surf the net, youtube etc the battery life is really good and the A14 bionic chip is pretty fast, so I do not understand why alot of people complain. Also the non laminated screen is still wonderful and costs so much less if you are to crack it. Now someone who is not fussed about the expensive pencils and keyboards or laminated screens, this is a perfect 1st ipad. I upgraded from my ipad mini 1st gen (which after 13 yrs still works) so for me this is totaly awesome. I almost swapped mine for air 5 but the more I used my 10th gen the more I loved it. My next upgrade would be a pro in some years time. Though this will probably last me a long time for now ☺️
I am currently still using my iPad Air 2 since I purchase it in December 2014, lately I am using it to watch content. I haven't quite decided yet what my next iPad would be as I am always in a loop between the 10th generation iPad, iPad Air and the iPad pro. I would like to do some art content and use the tablet as an extra screen to my MacBook Pro. For now I will give my current device a year or two until I get a new one
I do understand why so many people complain. I owned 10 Gen for about 1,5 month and then exchanged it to Air 5. Non laminated screen felt for me very cheap and like plastic. Dust and other things were much more noticeable. Also the screen was very reflective, I was able to use it as a mirror. So the screen isn’t good in my opinion. Also it lacks P3 colour. CPU is great. I experienced some lag and fps drops with some games like genshin impact, but it’s perfectly playable. But CPU is older, so the longevity will not be as great as with more advanced models. I use Apple Pencil, so the situation with pencil for me was awful. I was carrying pencil in a separate box, a cable and a dongle. All that stuff was just terrible. Overall in my opinion it’s a pretty good tablet, but not so great iPad.
I love my 10th Gen as well. The A14 is pretty fast. I’m not a power user and I mostly use my iPad for checking emails, e-books, reading the daily news and watching content on the go. For the heavy stuff I use my MacBook Air. For casual users and as a 2nd go to device, the 10th Gen is sufficient.
This was interesting. I’ve watched about 8 tech reviewers discuss the 10th Gen iPad, and you are the ONLY one who recommended it! Everyone else said it was overpriced and underdelivered.
Because pretty much every single reviewer focus their review from the content creator point of view, so they see the ipad as a device for video editing and software for artists, while the majority of users don't use iPads for any of that lol. I love the 10th gen, it is fast, screen is great, and the camera position makes it very useful for Teams calls, I just don't care about the Pen, never use it

I love my new 10th gen iPad, I don’t know why so many tech reviewers bash it so much, I upgraded from a 1st gen iPad Pro and it’s a huge improvement over it, I also upgraded my wife’s Air 2 to one as well since we got a great deal on ours for 1/2 off plus a free year of 5G cellular service from our cell phone company (Xfinity), I’m completely happy with this thing it’s fast, it’s smooth, the cameras are great and the speakers are awesome, and the bright blue looks amazing, we use the new usb-c Apple Pencil and it works really nicely as well, so thank for a decent and positive review of this great machine

The iPad Air is £170 more in the UK, so it is another step up. For some, that £170 will be worth it, but for others, the iPad 10 is fine. Most will buy it as it has a non-laminated display, so if you crack it, you can fix it for about £20, rather than £150 for the iPad Air. With kids, schools and businesses having high breakage rates, the Air is a stupid buy for them.

Doesn't know what he's talking about. The iPad Pro 2018 introduced us to the modern Apple design style: flat edges and back and rounded corners. The iPhones copied this design in 2020. Not the other way round. (Not counting the 4-5s, yes they had flat edges and back, but it was a different design style than this modern one)

This is still an “entry level” iPad which is an upgrade from prev generation iPad9. Huge differences with the specs, so price will increase for sure. I like this iPad very much I really love the bright colors that apple added. And also u can know use the Apple Pencil 1 for the new iPad so you don’t have to buy a new one. And I like the new wallpapers and I just love apples new devices.

What problems? The iPad 9 is still on sale if you want cheaper. It cannot use the Apple Pencil 2 as it does not have a charging coil (impossible with the new camera placement). It is non-laminated because it is aimed at businesses, kids and schools that insist on non-laminated due to the high cost of replacing laminated displays. The new Apple Pencil 3's not due for a while, maybe in 2024, so you must use the Apple Pencil 1 or a third-party stylus. What are the problems, please?
It is because laminated displays are very expensive to replace, and if your kid breaks them, that is $150 to repair, but a non-laminated one is around $15, and you can do it at home. This is basic common sense, and I am a bit surprised you do not recognize this? If you want laminated, get the Air; very simple.
I bought yesterday used ipad air 4 256gb almost new condition for 450€. That's the best deal for someone who wants 2nd gen pencil support and has low budget.

I use USB-C headphones if you insist on wired ones. Or plug a dongle into the headphone jack and keep it in situ, and use USB-C on all devices. Nothing is beating taken away; we are just moving to newer, more advanced tech, IO specifically. In 10 years' time, the next-gen will read all the whining about the jack and wonder what we were smoking back then!
I want a future proof ipad.... I honestly like to play genshin impact on ipad but I have ipad 7th gen and it's literally a hassle..... Currently i play it on my phone... The OnePlus 8T.... I agree with this review, but I still think it’s way too expensive for what you’re getting. If you want to use the full potential of this, you’re spending almost double the price of the iPad if you want to use a keyboard and pencil, and at that point, you’re nearing iPad Pro pricing. Otherwise, it’s a great entry level iPad for most people.
It is expensive because it is a sign of the times. Inflation is rife, and exchange rates are crazy. If you are buying this year, then these factors are apparent, and you have to reevaluate your budget. It is not cheap (iPad 10), and no one will argue with that, but is it worth it? As you say, for some, it is, probably most, as it is a long-term investment. The extras are not compulsory, and you would have to buy them whatever tablet you bought, and, of course, there are third-party alternatives.
This is a review of an apple fanboy, which is really disappointing. The new ipad has got to be the worst addition in years. Better to just watch actual tech enthusiasts like mkbhd and dave2d for an honest review
Plenty of anti-Apple channels if you want to get your daily dose of trolling Apple. No idea why the iPad 10 is the "worst in years"? Looks quite nice to me, though you are paying for the new design. The 3nm was delayed, so the iPad Pro M2 is just a refresh. We will see a BIG upgrade in 2024. TSMC has had further delays to 3nm, but hopefully, the next iPhone will be okay. Still, Moore's Law has been slowing the innovation cycle, so maybe people should understand that times are changing and be more level-headed about expectations?

I ordered the yellow one thinking it was going to be a bright vibrant color. Instead I looks like more of a Gold color. I personally prefer the gold look. Definitely not disappointed but just a heads up to the ones expecting a brighter cream of yellow.
Being nice about tech doesn’t mean it’s an undisclosed paid video. It can mean the video creator wants more free stuff from the company. This is what this is. A grey area.
Apple, unlike Google, does not give away free products. Some YT creators get a device they must return in due course. Most reviewers doing Apple videos have to buy them themselves, unlike Samsung, which sends out devices to everyone to swamp the airways.

Price is subjective. For me, investing in a product that will last 6-years the price is reasonable, bearing in mind the state of the world economy.

I don’t really see the 1st Gen pencil being a problem with the new IPad, cause you could use your phone too charge the pencil.
You need to plug it into the iPad first to pair them
Base iPad is targetted more towards students and not every student uses iPhone.

I've been using iPad Mini 2nd gen (yes, i know). iPad Air is way too expensive. The new iPad is so great, it's for people like me.
I bought yesterday used ipad air 4 256gb almost new condition for 450€. That's the best deal for someone who wants 2nd gen pencil support and has low budget.

Don't use wired headphones, but headphone jacks are still helpful when connecting to speakers for group fitness instructors or DJs

I use USB-C headphones if you insist on wired ones. Or plug a dongle into the headphone jack and keep it in situ, and use USB-C on all devices. Nothing is beating taken away; we are just moving to newer, more advanced tech, IO specifically. In 10 years' time, the next-gen will read all the whining about the jack and wonder what we were smoking back then!
The choices Apple made on this iPad 10th gen is just stupid.

The new iPad is nice looking but I don’t think it’s worth it in my opinion.
I want a future proof ipad.... I honestly like to play genshin impact on ipad but I have ipad 7th gen and it's literally a hassle..... Currently i play it on my phone... The OnePlus 8T.... But it lags like hell and i can only play on lowest setting and 30 fps..... So I want to buy a new ipad which will allow me to play genshin impact and also use procreate and goodnotes.... So i am confused between ipad mini 6 and ipad air 5.....

I agree with this review, but I still think it’s way too expensive for what you’re getting. If you want to use the full potential of this, you’re spending almost double the price of the iPad if you want to use a keyboard and pencil, and at that point, you’re nearing iPad Pro pricing.
Otherwise, it’s a great entry level iPad for most people.
It is expensive because it is a sign of the times. Inflation is rife, and exchange rates are crazy. If you are buying this year, then these factors are apparent, and you have to reevaluate your budget. It is not cheap (iPad 10), and no one will argue with that, but is it worth it? As you say, for some, it is, probably most, as it is a long-term investment. The extras are not compulsory, and you would have to buy them whatever tablet you bought, and, of course, there are third-party alternatives.
I still use earphones.

Plenty of anti-Apple channels if you want to get your daily dose of trolling Apple. No idea why the iPad 10 is the "worst in years"? Looks quite nice to me, though you are paying for the new design. The 3nm was delayed, so the iPad Pro M2 is just a refresh. We will see a BIG upgrade in 2024. TSMC has had further delays to 3nm, but hopefully, the next iPhone will be okay. Still, Moore's Law has been slowing the innovation cycle, so maybe people should understand that times are changing and be more level-headed about expectations?

I ordered the yellow one thinking it was going to be a bright vibrant color. Instead I looks like more of a Gold color. I personally prefer the gold look. Definitely not disappointed but just a heads up to the ones expecting a brighter cream of yellow.

Being nice about tech doesn’t mean it’s an undisclosed paid video. It can mean the video creator wants more free stuff from the company. This is what this is. A grey area.
Apple, unlike Google, does not give away free products. Some YT creators get a device they must return in due course. Most reviewers doing Apple videos have to buy them themselves, unlike Samsung, which sends out devices to everyone to swamp the airways.
