Poor Genki. They should put that silverback and Gentaro in another area of the enclosure so that poor old girl can eat in peace. She has to shovel the food in her mouth so fast because she’s afraid she’ll never have another opportunity to eat. That silverback is very food aggressive and her eldest son, Gentaro, takes food from her and pushes her around. She’s the only female in that gorilla enclosure and all those males push her around. She needs an area where she can get food and eat in peace.
That was a GREAT Kick MOMOTARO did but not to Kintaro....Kintaros got so much Energy he doesn't know what to do with it... Then he gets so pooped out he Sleeps in GENKIS Arms.... SO SWEET.. MOMOTARO must know Kung Fu So WATCH OUT...I WISH I'd see them Eating More then just GRASS!!!!!!!! Where are ALL the Fruits & Vegatables????????? MY GOD... I See the Other ZOOS giving there Gorrlias lots of Fruits Vegatables!!!!! Some things NEVER CHANGE!!!!! UGH- - -
Maybe someone will answer some of my questions/concerns about Genius. Why does she drool when she's eating. Why is her stomach extremely large and why does she seems to always be eating when the others do not eat like her. Anyone know?
Genki has has teeth problems, I read somewhere she's missing some teeth which could be why she drools a lot. And since they're herbivores and eat plants I'm sure her bloated belly is gas.
it's her tooth problem,a lot of her tooth is rotten and gone. so she need extra time to chew ,also some un-chew grass (high fibre)can cause gassy on her belly,so she looks bloated.
At a previous zoo Genki was fed lots of fruits which are high in sugars. Gorilla's teeth have much thinner enamel than our own so are much more susceptible to cavities, as a result many of Genki's teeth are decaying which causes her bloating due an overproductive gastrointestinal system. They've been slowing dealing with them I believe but I know they are nervous to anesthetize her too heavily because of her age.

There’s a video of Genki running with Kintero on her hip…..she ran out outside to quickly scoff up some of the food before the two males come out there and leave her nothing to eat. I’ve seen the keepers bring Genki into an enclosed cage just so she could eat in peace and not have to shovel the food into her mouth like she’ll never get to eat again. That’s why she eats like a glutton because the silverback is food aggressive and her oldest son pushes her around. That poor old girl eats like she’ll never have another opportunity to do so. I feel bad for her. Plus, that little midget, with the big head, thinks it’s still an infant so Genki is still nursing that little goblin and has to fight for her own food. Very sad.
Well Genki older so she doesn’t have teeth like the rest. Also kintaro is still suckling so she needs to eat more than the rest. Just like humans they’re belly’s get bigger after baby and it also has to do with their anatomy. I hope this answered your questions and I hoping I’m correct even 50% lol.
I can see that the Gorilla enclosure is well equipped with items to enrich their lives. However, I find it sad that such majestic animals are having to live in such a confined space. It is even more tragic that they are under threat in their natural environment.
En este vídeo veo que no es el día de Kintaro, su padre le hace caer al suelo, le patea y no desea hacer caso de los juegos de su hijo. Gentaro por su parte también le da un golpe. Lo extraño que me ha parecido es que Genki descuidarse a kintaro porque en ningún momento ha ido a defenderlo. También Genki no le ha hecho mucho caso al pequeñín. No sé qué pensaría kintaro.

遊んでいたかと思うと、父ちゃんは頭を触ってふざけていたキンタロウを突飛ばして、さらに後ろ足で蹴りを入れた。
その時のキンタロウは、しょぼんとして少し考え込んだ様子。
モモタロウの背中を二回優しく叩いて抵抗したのか、コミュニケーションのしるしなのか、そんな感じが伝わってくる。
でも、気になるのか、また父ちゃんの近くに行く。
やはり、優しく受け入れてくれる母ちゃんの胸の中は、一番安心するみたいだね。
不満げなキンタロウも、母ちゃんがあくびすると自分もあくびして眠くなっちゃう。
