As an introduction to Cynic thought the Xenophon complete works from publisher Delphi includes the Symposium and for my problem of reading fatigue the Google Play Books version has the benefit of the pleasant young female A.I. text reader. One could spend a considerable amount of time with the presented texts and signposts inside the Cynic School. Looking forward to making progress in the vein of indoctrination. If I get more outdoors sex like Crates is reputed to enjoy, it's a win/win outcome.
Yes. The cynics are a fun school. Imagine a character that is part Marine, cranky antisocial person who studied with Socrates and lives rough on the streets, with a penchant for street theatre. As a literary character, he expresses in a dramatized and extreme way thoughts and attitudes that I think many of us have …entertained. Who are you callin' a dirty neo hippy?! I'll Thoreau the book at you! I wish John Steinbeck wrote a novel about a cynic (a small twist on Mac and the boys from Cannery Row?) Thanks this video is really useful.
