I agree with their talk about the age of losing virginity. I think people mature at different ages, both physically, emotionally, psychologically and (obviously) sexually. I think you're lucky if you can have certain milestones take place at the appropriate juncture throughout your life. Such as, losing your virginity, having a serious relationship, experiencing a period of casual dating/sex, pursuing personal/selfish goals, learning to live alone for a duration time, becoming one half of a true partnership, etc...
You have to experience all of these things.. and hopefully these will occur at the most appropriate times throughout your life. Rarely does it work out that nicely, but even so, it helps to layer your life experiences... What I love about Bobby, and other insightful people, is the ability to find meaning, and humor in the moments when this timing doesn't go right. Anyway, this is why I love TigerBelly.. it compels you to reflect on these experiences and gleam humor from the moments in life when things don't happen the way they 'should', but also appreciate those instances when "the stars align."
I love how there's a different Bobby in every frame. Got the real thing up top, the North Korean portrait on the bottom left, and then a classically framed monochrome photo just chilling on the floor behind Asa.

the perception thing and the Woody Allen movie reminds how addicts live most of the time; we talk ourselves into thinking we have to do the things we do to obtain the high until we actually believe it... then eventually you're living in the twilight zone and your moral compass is completely the opposite of what you valued when you were sober..if you're lucky, reality smacks you in the face and you have some kind of earth shattering spiritual awakening or you wake up from an OD with a new found appreciation for life. the hardest part is listening and not writing it off

I love this series and this is an exceptionally insightful interview.
All, that I wish to close with is that Asa's experience with a naturopath is a difficult one to claim as being true. Asa had her condition for quite some time. I do not know what the condition was nor was there an evidence-based diagnosis. There are far too many unknowns in what Asa is claiming to have experienced. Asa is an exceptional woman who may have been duped by a "health and well-being" industry that preys upon our propensities to believe in nonsense. No one is immune to being conviced that something nonsensical is valid/true/real.
