Everytime the show ended & I saw David walk away alone. The swell of emotion would start to build in anticipation of this magnificant piece of music. My soul would be transported inside the pain and loneliness of those first 4 keys of piano playing. Makes me tear up everytime I hear it.

This song alone made the Hulk seem like more than a schlock action hero series. It made it adamant how damaged Banner was, and how human he was after all. Oh and of course Bill Bixby's incredible acting.

Say what you will about this show, it captured the 'tragic Hulk' pretty damn well, in my opinion. There are a number of good plot-angles for the Hulk, but focusing on the tragedy of it makes a great damn story. Also, all hail Bill Bixby.

Alan Reader It was a sad song, but the pain comes from the burden he must carry, a beast inside of him and that it can hurt people. He is still on the run, people who knew him thinks he is dead and he must search for a cure. But as soon he find himself a nice place, the hulk appears some way or another and he must then go on again. He will always be alone and never find happiness. That is why it is sad.

Absolutely. It was the combination of Bill Bixby, Lou Ferrigno, and the amazing music that sold this show for me. I still love watching it after all these years. So glad I got the complete series box set as a Christmas gift a few years back.

The Incredible Hulk is an American television series based on the Marvel Comics character The Hulk. The series aired on the CBS television network and starred Bill Bixby as Dr. David Bruce Banner, Lou Ferrigno as the Hulk, and Jack Colvin as Jack McGee.
To this day I still appreciate the quiet, reflective, melancholy role of Dr. David Banner In “The Incredible Hulk” Bill Bixby, the actor who played David Banner is still one of the undisputed pioneers of the Marvel cinematic universe. Truly back in the late 70's when special effects were occasionally downright laughable, and other comic book adaptations of Marvel characters for television met with failure, Bill Bixby helped to bring integrity to life for many young viewers like myself as he portrayed this role, he brought belief to what many at that time thought was an outlandish science fiction story. Bill Bixby's character in “The Incredible Hulk” was a nuclear scientist who was motivated by personal loss, and he, David Banner made a choice to never be powerless again in protecting the ones that he loved. The result was a foolish decision that made his life far worse: an overdose of gamma radiation that caused repeated transformations into the Hulk, forcing him to live in fear of the danger to others, and making it impossible to establish any lasting relationships with anyone. A Tragic Story of a man constantly pursued by the press mainly Mr. McGee, yet still a Positive Story of the countless lives that he touched with his love and kindness, and with every episode watched we all wanted him to someday find that cure that would remove the "Hulk" which raged within him. Truly "The Incredible Hulk" was an Amazing Story to watch, and Bill Bixby was a Great talent to believe in. In closing I just want to say that the music for this Television Series was as good as it get's. Joe Harnell, one of Kenneth Johnson's favorite composers, composed the music for The Incredible Hulk. He was brought into the production due to his involvement with the series The Bionic Woman, which Johnson had also created and produced. Some of the series' music was collected into an album titled The Incredible Hulk: Original Soundtrack Recording. The show's main theme, "The Lonely Man"-a sad, solo piano tune-is always heard during the closing credits-which usually shows Banner hitch-hiking.

You can never replace Bill Bixby as Bruce Banner. He was the best. He truly was one great underrated character actor. Got little to no recognition for his acting ability. So sad. He was also second banana to all his costars. His costars got all the glory. Funniest thing is he didn’t seem to mind. Now that’s what I call a very humble actor. May he R.I.P.

Bill Bixby fez a melhor interpretação do Doutor David Bruce Banner .
A série e adaptações feitas p/ tv deram mto certo .
