Celina (far right) carries most of the high end harmony ( two notes during the chorus had a operatic value) so Almira can open her tones .. think of there voices as different instruments ... Mylene (far left) alto sax ... Almira as cornet ... Irene as a sweet trombone ... Celina as a flute ... listen ... these sisters have been singing together for over 15 years ...
Norman DeLise I like your analogy of their voices like instruments. Mylene does the arrangements and when asked by an interviewer “you guys must practice for hours to get those harmonies “ she replied “ we just instinctively know and I just put it all together. They are so humble she said at the end “ I hope it sounds ok”
4th Impact is a Filipino girl group composed of sisters Almira, Irene, Mylene and Celina Cercado. The group rose to popularity after competing in the 12th series of X Factor UK, where they finished in fifth place.
I have never heard of this group before but just by chance I came upon their video right before I found your video and I felt chill bumps listening to them and thought they were absolutely amazing on their version of the song.. I have heard a few other variations of this song plus have seen the movie. so far this group almost completely blows the song out of the water. Hoping see more of them. I also just found a video of them on one of the TV shows for talent singers, heading there next.
One of these four sisters won vocal training in a singing contest when she was young and has taught her sisters. I love these girls they are the Queens of harmony!
They auditioned on British X Factor originally as group named 4th POWER, but there was challenge to their name so they changed to 4th IMPACT. You can watch their original audition as 4th Power on season 12 through RUclips!
New subscriber here and what a great analysis of our girls and Let me tell you a bit about 4th impact, they are sisters from the Philippines, they started singing as a group since very younger age (2001) Almira was 13, Irene 11, Mylene 9 and Celina 5 years old, and they have great different talents, of course singing is one of them bsut... every one has a roll in the group, Almira (30) is the belter and provide the high notes, Irene (28) is the swagger, the choreographer and the beat boxer of the group, all the choreography of the songs before the live shows and after x factor UK tour are her creations, then Mylene (25) is the arranger, all the songs incredible vocal arrangements are coming from her, and Celina (22) she is the rapper, video editor and the beauty queen of the group (all of them are beautiful anyways), now vocally, Almira is soprano with powerful raspy voice, amazing , Celina is soprano as well but with softer melodic voice, both with a huge voice range since they can do whistle notes (please react to "Oh holly night " so you can see their vocal range), then Mylene is a mezzo soprano with her nasal soulful voice and finally Irene is a contraalto providing the low notes to complement the whole range of the sound spectrum, now you know and can understand why these girls are so amazing, beside they are very nice human beings, family oriented, well educated because all of them have finished school careers, no drinkers or other stuff like many in this industry, God followers and incredible humble. If you want to know more about 4th Impact please click on this link blog.myertha.com/4th-impact-biography-chasing-the-dreams/ Thanks and keep reacting to them.
Thank you for reacting to the Philippine Pride :-) 4TH IMPACT is a total performer , they can sing, dance and even rap ! They always sing from the heart thats why their music is always amazing 😊 #4THIMPACTRULES😎 #PROUDTOBEPINOY🇵🇭 #ILOVEYOU4THIMPACT😍
Check their audition in X- Factor UK, you can somehow know their very inspiring, humble origin. Simon loved them so much. I love these girls, too. Please check on KZ Tandingan in Singer 2018. She had 6 amazing repertoire she arranged and adapted from other big artists as if it were her own. Please check on Marcelito Pomoy’s The Prayer.
These young women have been singing as a group since 2001. They are sisters and were children then joining singing contests and maybe events accompanied by their mother. They achieved fame when they joined X Factor UK and made it to the finals but were eventually sent home to the dismay of many fans.
Always a pleasure learning from you, Carl John. I just subscribed now though I've been watching your reactions already. The ladies are the Cercado sisters, Mylene, Almira, Irene and Celina (from left to right in this video). They used to be called The Cercados (their mother's surname); MICA (their initials) when they competed in Superstar K6 in 2014; : 4th Power when they auditioned for X-Factor UK in 2016 and finally 4th Impact due to a copyright claim during that competition. More power to you and your YT channel!
If you want to hear a vocal masterpiece you should watch their cover of the Jackson Fives I'll be there on Wish 107.5 I'm old enough that I got to watch the Jackson Five perform it live and I swear these sisters take it to another level!
The vowel pronunciation is a tough one to analyse with the Filipino singer, because their vowel use regularly is an open vowel use in their regular everyday when speaking English. I used to think it was their PH accent. There's a lot of cross over so who knows.
The Truth, Vowel pronunciation is different in speaking voice than in singing. In singing it depends on the singers' choice of techniques/dynamics whether to use open, close, or half-open/close mouth in vocalizing vowels.
And I HAVE to add this in, the original song as sung by the wonderful Loren Allred ALSO HAS the Open Vowels that were discussed. It's how SHE sang it, so that is what Fourth Impact are doing here. It's also what Katrina Velarde AND Morissette Amon did with it. That's the song, not necessarily the vocalist.
4th Impact. 4th Power are a Filipino girl group composed of sisters Almira, Irene, Mylene and Celina Cercado. The group competed in the 12th season of the UK X Factor and finished in fifth place.
They have been singing together for more than a decade, but the thing that brought them to the attention of much of the world was their jaw-dropping audition on The X Factor UK, in 2015. They flew from the Philippines to England, in pursuit of their dream, and gave an incredibly entertaining and inspiring performance that now has more than 112 million views on RUclips: ruclips.net/video/H7YRRaOgpUk/видео.html. By the way, they were called 4th Power at the time of the audition, but had to change their name, part way through the competition, due to copyright issues.
I totally agree with you! Mylene is truly the boss, as her sisters call her. Her arrangements are very professional! I also love her voice. Almira is my favorite vocalist. But Mylene is my favorite sister. Although I love them all!
Hi Carl, Something different and a change of pace, but could you perhaps please analyze Elvis Presley and what made him "The King" and so vocally appealing? Thanks, Michelle
almira the one who used to sing the highest notes was the first singer among her sisters. i used to be with her (Almira) practicing in a studio. Celina was the youngest that time.
thanks for reacting this video of 4th impact ...and i have a little request from you if ever you have a time i would like you to react a video of Angelica Hale a contestant last year america got talent 2017 you can check it out of her performance and many events too she did ..thanks
Have you ever watch the original of this ? lol. she also tends to open the vowel isn't? i think they just dont want to remove the uniqueness of this song . luhhh
If theyre from the PI (Philippine Islands) , karaoke is basically all they do for fun, at least in the more rural parts. There are all in one machines reminescent of acrade sized game cabiniets that are the equivalent to the bouncy castles here in the USA. The cabinets have monitors that display the words/videos. There was a month long "family reunion" on my dads side and we mainly drank at night and the more courageous would sing. There weren't many things to do out in the "sticks/boonies". I had brought my gameboy and a rubiks cube. The main purpose of the trip was to redesignate the boundaries of my dad's family's land to make sure it was on paper. Then my grandma divied the land amounst those relatives that still lived in my parents hometown and are most likely gonna stay there. The show business side of things is kinda weird there. The stars over there all the same and rarely do they have new talent join the stable. Also imagine all the stars from only one main network, like NBC in the US and all those stars have a "monopoly" over the entire nework. The main thing I dont like about that is the same stable of stars will be the cast for one show and when that series is over, they will just be automatically cast into the new roles. I guess it's good if you a die hard fan of a particular star.
How high can Almira (center-left) get? She has 3 or 4 levels of whistle pitch. That's pretty high, and impressive. I'm saying that as someone who really likes hearing a female baritone, which Mylene tries to reach in different songs. She's the bottom of the four natural soprano voices so she gets the task of working to get all the way down to female baritone (which is not the same as alto).
Celina (far right) carries most of the high end harmony ( two notes during the chorus had a operatic value) so Almira can open her tones .. think of there voices as different instruments ... Mylene (far left) alto sax ... Almira as cornet ... Irene as a sweet trombone ... Celina as a flute ... listen ... these sisters have been singing together for over 15 years ...

wow... beautiful comparison 😍
