A look at the new (2021) Formex Reef with the snow white dial and interchangeable bezels. Formex Reef - formexwatch.com Cotton Twill Shirt Jacket - www2.hm.com/en...
This is a great looking watch, looks different than all the other divers out there. I'm buying this watch over an Omega Sea Master 300 white dial. The bracelet is much more comfortable than the Sea Master, and finishing on the Reef is also better. I get brand recognition may not be there as of yet, but this is a high quality Swiss Made Watch. If this watch had another more established brand name attach to it as it is , it would go for at least $5k.
Great that you mention the weight. It has good specs but so unoriginal in design it’s a Patek Philippe Nautilus homage watch, and I’m just not into homage watches . 170 grams is too heavy for me , not comfortable on wrist above 130 grams but that is my personal opinion. Good review though.
For a while I’ve thought Tudor should do something like this. Imagine a GMT with swappable coke, pepsi, and a black bezel. Or a Pelagos with swappable bezel colors. 🤯🤯🤯
Sorry that is not a good design for a dive watch which is a tool. This is a gimmick, I would rather a version one without the pop off bezel. This doesn’t make me want to buy this watch.
I’ve been hyper obsessing over this watch when it first came out and I have probably watched this and random robs review 10-20 times easily. I have finally decided to pull the trigger on it and just in time for my 25th birthday!
Wears like a 42 ? Or a bit smaller ? Amazing watch. I wanted to see the white dial with the different bezels and that's exactly what u gave us. Cheers 🍻
A new market for bezel purses has become a reality. I had to pause for that brief rubber strap moment. I love the way that kinda shows off the shape of the case more.
Formex has been on my radar for a while now, they are technically flawless... But none of their designs really speaks to me. I have the same thing with Grand Seiko, utmost respect for their watchmaking but have not been drawn to any of their designs. I wish the watches I like would learn from those, I would love a thin spring drive with a formex bracelet in a nice rugged (no Zaratsu for me please) case if reasonnable size (42max). One can dream. My aquaracer Bamford is on it's way, btw.
Though the design is not my cup of tea this is actually ridiculous value. If someone were to list these features off and you had to guess a price I don’t think anyone would guess under 3.5k but here it is a HALF of that
Saw the Reef at the WindUp Fair. Great level of detail, with a very technical look that doesn't come-off as gimmicky. Blue on blue looks great, and the silver bezel gives it a Rolex Yacht Master vibe.
If they did this on a vintage-ish diver, they'd be sitting on a gold mine. I realize Formex is super modern, but I bet they could pull it off (pun intended).
Great watch! I think there are not many brands that offer so much value for the cost!!! Unfortunately i haven‘t seen a Formex in real life yet… maybe soon!!! Great Video!!! I like your style a lot!!!! Wether i like the watch or not, your Videos are worth beeing watched! I appreciate that you give a lot of respect to every watch you review! And you never show off!!! I‘m a fan 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I guess this is something Formex could do because they're a smaller brand, without the baggage of heritage. Honestly it looks a little too clunky for me right now but I really like everything Formex is doing otherwise! - Han
Wow! Congratulations! You have the most adoring, compliant, perfect-spelling posters I've ever seen. Anyone would think you'd written them yourself! 😂 Keep up the good work!
Growing up in the 80's, the only thing i don't like about this watch is the "-ex"(Formex), reminds me of washing powder or something. But hey, it's now part of my life, youngsters don't know these endings on words, i lived with'em... Thanks for bringing this up Evan, be well mate.
Not gonna lie, I was expecting a much higher price tag.
Glad you noticed!
ohh youre helping sell this shit? ahhahahahaa
A lovely fabulous video! AS ALWAYS! You reviews just bring me joy!
I’m glad
The blue bezel with white dial combination is gorgeous.
Not bad, right?
@@YoureTerrific no, not bad at all. I don't think I've ever seen that combination of bezel and dial color before on any watch that comes to mind.
Hope to see chronos applying this swappable bezel system someday. Telemeter, pulsometer & whatever meters need more attention than tachymeter!
Love that idea!
Really smart idea.. @formex : take this cue for your next chronograph!
Wow this thing is awesome! Love the looks of the piece too. Hope for their success
Bro!!! You killed it with this video. This watch is awesome!! I love the white with the green bezel 😍😍😍
👍
Dude you deserve way more subs. Great watch.
I appreciate that. I just want to show interesting pieces like this. Subs aren't all that important to me.
Subscribed, I was reading comments, saw this and couldn’t agree more.
Magnificent watch and affordable too. The brand should get a lot more attention. Thanks!
👍
This is a really cool watch within the hydroconquest price range but with cool tricks. Thanks for sharing 🤙🏻
👍

Looks great without a bezel. Clear Nautilus inspired case design.
I see what you mean. I think that if it didn't have a big dive bezel it would need a larger dial.
@@YoureTerrific or a smaller case and a tapering bracelet
Decent piece from Formex...Excellent presentation Sir 👌🏽
👍
Absolutely love this. I'd totally buy it if it was 2mm smaller (40mm diameter, 20/18mm bracelet). Just a tad too big for my tastes
I'll bet Formex is listening.
Hey YT, are you interested in reviewing the Phoibos Leviathan line? I have three, each in a different material.

Would love that.
Looks awesome 👌
Great video
39,5 MM now !
Great review and great watch. 👍
👌
Wow, love it!
If you're not careful popping that bezel you could rub it against the brushing, scratching the case. Not a great feature to have for durability
This is a winner!
👍
OMG! 😱😱😱😱😱😱
What? Did I break it?
@@YoureTerrific Not the watch, but my wallet. :D
Ouch
Sorry that is not a good design for a dive watch which is a tool. This is a gimmick, I would rather a version one without the pop off bezel. This doesn’t make me want to buy this watch.
Woah .. once you pop you can’t stop - best tag line for this reef! You are terrific !! 👍👏
Stolen from an old Pringles ad.
@@YoureTerrific haha .. thought so !! Formex is listening to the watch enthusiast. Formex will win lots of fans with this one !
I’ve been hyper obsessing over this watch when it first came out and I have probably watched this and random robs review 10-20 times easily. I have finally decided to pull the trigger on it and just in time for my 25th birthday!
How are you liking the Reef? Did you buy it?
@@carlosraygoza9153 i did, bought may last year and im loving it. I just wish i had waited for the GMT to come out...
Raphael is really doing a fantastic job with the brand. I love the Reef and the new bezel change feature is just awesome. Thanks for the video.
👍
Man this is pretty cool. Would definitely go for it with a smaller diameter size
If they hear that from enough people, maybe they'd do a 39mm.
very nice... pls Formex make the 40mm version of it, 20mm lug width tapering to 18mm. Thanks.
Wears like a 42 ? Or a bit smaller ? Amazing watch. I wanted to see the white dial with the different bezels and that's exactly what u gave us. Cheers 🍻
These formex reef's look so good. I really have to contain myself NOT to buy one.. love the bezel insert design.
Don’t fight the urge.
@@YoureTerrific hahaha. I'm currently debating between this watch , the Maurice Lacroix Aikon and the Omega Dynamic 3 chronograph.
Great options.
Anything that helps add versatility to a watch is a big plus imo
Totally agree
This watch has some awesome features.
But more importantly, I love the style of your videos!
I have the Formex Essence 39 in white and I love it, really well finished and put together. Great to see a brand trying new ideas
Totally agree.
Now it is time for a 39mm version..
Would be cool
HAHAHAHA formex gotta be the worst foking name for a watch! they should sell concrete mix instead! lol gtfo
Great video! I was looking at this watch earlier this morning. It is a neat concept. Keep up the good work.
Thanks
I own the original Reef and these watches are built incredibly well. If you're interested in one I highly recommend it.
I was wondering which watch company would introduce user swappable bezels. Kind of generic looking diver, though.
How does this compare to the Monta Ocean King?
Hmm. For my 6.5” wrist this has ProPlof lite vibes. Maybe? Maybe.
how anyone says this is an original design is beyond me it’s a nautilus with a bezel lol
A new market for bezel purses has become a reality. I had to pause for that brief rubber strap moment. I love the way that kinda shows off the shape of the case more.
Seriously
Nice but I just don’t want to wear a watch on my wrist with a name that sounds like a lotion for genital warts.
*reaches for a can of pringles*
So hungry.
“No one’s going to the hospital” you guys using your teeth to change straps ?! 🤣

Once I stop, I cant pop.
Then you’d better not stop.
Zelos killer?
That white and green is my cup of tea 👌.
Production of the video is top notch as always, well done!
Yeah. Good stuff. Thanks.

I’m jealous you were at WindUp.
@@YoureTerrific you made it!!
LOL Freedom DOES have a cost..
For real
If they did this on a vintage-ish diver, they'd be sitting on a gold mine. I realize Formex is super modern, but I bet they could pull it off (pun intended).
Formex.. i really think the lug width sud be 21mm tapering to 18mm, the rest is just perfect. Thanks for the review.
Seems like a nice feature - hit something hard and expect the bezel could come off. A Diver is not safe anymore.
Fantastic Idea interchangeable Bezel Great job Guys simple things in life worth smiling.
Dude you should wear it without the bezel
This is a game changer 🔥
Impressive watch.
terrific!
I like it! ⌚

Awesome as usual
The video or the watch?
@@YoureTerrific 😆 your writing and filming. That said, Formex really try to innovate and try new things and that’s commendable!
I guess this is something Formex could do because they're a smaller brand, without the baggage of heritage. Honestly it looks a little too clunky for me right now but I really like everything Formex is doing otherwise! - Han
There's a freedom to being a younger (20-year-old) brand.
Game changer!
Great looking watch! I know the case diameter is 42mm, but what's the bezel diameter?
42. The case is wider.
The Reef was a watch I didn't really care about when it first came out but now it's really grabbing my attention
Same
You have something specific than other You Tube reviewers.
Also the camera is sick !
👍
Wow! Congratulations! You have the most adoring, compliant, perfect-spelling posters I've ever seen.

Keep up the good work!
Posters?
Curiosity: What's your recording setup? And what do you use to edit?
Edit in Premiere, record on a Sony a7III.
Maaaaan, I love your chanel!!! Best!
Great video, thanks!
Thanks so much!
I do this with my 16710 and all 3 of the inserts. Lots of fun
Love it
Would be cool if they released 12hr or a minimalist bezel. This opens up so many options!
I'd love that.
I love your army style jacket !
The Formex is cool too.
Thanks. I put a link to both in the video's description.

Like Rolex?
@@YoureTerrific You're damn right! We still have (in Greece) a cheap machine/hand wash powder called Rol...
you are terrific ! How is the lume on this ?
I showed it in the video. Pretty good.
How do you like the bezel action on this? Can it compete with more expensive pieces like your Breitling or Proplof? (If yes, you may have sold me.)
I think it's better than both of my current divers. 120-click too.
@@YoureTerrificDammit.
Sorry
I didn’t know this was a trick, my Vostok has a changeable bezel; so does the skx
Yeah, there's a rich modding community with those brands, but Seiko and Vostok don't officially support it and provide parts.
@YoureTerrific oh okay; I understand now. that somehow completely went over my head, the manufacturer support, smart move on their behalf
Very. Win-win.
hahaha omfg 1800 dollars FOR FOKS SAKE!!!!
