  • Decluttering A TON of Baby Clothes, just brushing the surface to my journey to minimalism 2022. I really am hoping to get my home simplified and streamlined. Baby clothes are sentimental so i wanted to make it easier to find what i need later if we every have another baby.
A Baby clothing declutter is definitely hard to do, My baby is only 2, so getting rid of his baby clothes is really difficult, looking at them reminds me of how little he used to be.
So in this massive baby clothes declutter I go through a lot of feelings.
I hope you enjoyed this video!

You are doing a great job. It's a hard task. Something that helped me declutter baby clothes was picking a number to keep (example: 10 sleepers size 3m)
Like you I do laundry often enough that at this point I keep about a week's worth of clothes for each of my kids and that works for me.
Also after having my second baby I decluttered my baby even more, it just takes time.🤗
    Keep up the good work.

I kept the outfit my daughter‘s wore from the hospital when they were born and I also kept my favorite outfit out of the first year and put it in a memory box for them then they can do what they want with it as they grew up they love looking at them they couldn’t believe they were that small

Love the decluttering videos! I recently went through my 4 year old clothes, I had like 10 tubs kept! I found that each time I went through it I got rid of more and more! Anything with stains, or things I didn't reach for for my fist I got rid of! We honestly don't need so Much as we think! It is so hard but it definitely gets easier 💕

I definitely would say a pull a few baby outfits to put in like an actual baby box for him. There's probably a chance you're not going to have another preemie. So even if you don't like all of it now in the future whenever you want to it might be nice to pull some of those favorite teeny tiny outfits for a memory box. I really should put together memory boxes for my kids I have like a couple baby boxes that I haven't gone through since they were probably toddlers so that's something I would like to and be more intentional about in the future and see what is actually in there.

@@Lindsay_Lexus I know I have a new born outfit and hospital bracelets and the baby hat in there. No clue what else. Been so long since I opened them. I think I have the first shoes they wore when they first started walking in because that was really sentimental to me. I think a lot of my second daughter stuff was stuff that my first wore to though so there is some crossover I know there is a few specific dresses like I think they're Easter dress and a Christmas dress which actually I think the one Christmas dress is actually in my daughter's dollhouse. But that is one I would want to hold on to. I'm pretty sure I've actual like hospital paperwork in this boxes too so I'm sure there's some that can go. I feel like the teeny tiny baby sucks though we're kind of a big point of sentimentality for me I feel like I've weighed too many pairs of that. I do have some sentimental clothing though too separate from the boxes. I definitely have more things that I could go through or pass along still because they're always growing. I think ideally I would be down to one been a baby girl stuff and wouldn't been a baby boy stuff for sentimental clothing or to save for their kids because that is fun. 🙂 Definitely have a ton to get rid of still though. Definitely not a minimalist here. I am very sentimental about things. Toys are the hardest catagory for me.

Keep in mind that I am not a parent however intellectually if I was in a position to do this I would just treat it like my clothes and figure out how often I want to do laundry (1x / week) and then times that by 2 or 3 and only keep that many outfits. (14-21 in example)
    Is that bad?

Baby clothes are really the hardest thing to declutter. I just started decluttering my sons baby clothes, because I just got a baby girl, and I'm not planning on having another baby anytime soon.
I got through size 50 to 68 (0-6months), but it really takes like forever. It's like I'm fully letting go of him being a baby, he's getting so big already.

My daughter is now 12 I have a large box of memory stuff baby stuff is now hospital bracelet, outfit she wore leaving hospital one tiny dress and her first pair of shoes, and a hand knitted hat, and the blanket my mother made her, also in same box are school certificates special cards, and art, she has a similar box for memories that are important to her but it has to fit in the trunk which doubles as bedroom seat. At present you aren't sure your family is finished so keep a selection in each size, don't keep anything torn or stained you will not want to put a new baby in damaged clothes also a second child might not fit the 6 months clothes in the same season 6-9 month old coats will be no use if next child is 6-9 months in June to August you will always want some new stuff for a second child too

After deciding what to declutter-show us viewers the pile( or size of donating box) just once and get it out of the house quick. Just saying! I'm a nurse working with adolescents. One of the things I educate my patients on is independence. Part of my spiel is telling them that no matter what age they may be, they will still be their mommy's baby even when they have babies (hopefully not too soon) of their own- but if they show some accountability and responsibility then their parents can rest more easily on giving them more independence. So please don't stress about Dan no longer being your baby as he will always be your baby in your heart.
