Hi all, hope you enjoyed this episode! If you want to drive a tank then go check out Armourgeddon tank battles for their tank driving experience days. They have gift vouchers available so perfect for Christmas! Www.armourgeddon.uk
As I am a large man that DOES NOT handle small spaces well, the better question would be: "Would my tank mates survive the 300lbs of gorilla panic that would ensue if you put me in a tank?"
One thing not often mentioned about manned air assets, drones and portable anti-tank missiles is how many it to destroy one tank (from misses, to didn't destroy the tank, to hitting a tank already knocked out or that is a decoy from a even a few hundred metres it is very hard to tell especially when you are worried for your own safety). Well in terms of drones it's well over 1,000 for unguided ATM's it just under 1,000 and for guided well over 100. In terms of air assets the claimed and actual have such a wide disparity that it is pointless even considering I.e. NATO bombing of Yugoslavia they thought they had destroyed 120 tanks, in fact 13 tanks had been destroyed, however all had marks from other ammunition as well such as Artillery, ATGM's etc. When you watch footage of the successes it looks very easy but in reality they don't show all the misses. Doesn't make them any less of a threat or any less scary but it does put it in perspective.
Agreed, i was on the abrams in the hot and heavy oif dog days of the mid 2000s. But for the uninitiated and civvy world, they see track and pew pew, they see tonk
He seems to confuse a gun with a turret. The turret is the big round thing that moves round and the gun, or cannon in this case, is what you fire at the target.
Ok, they spend that much time to make this a possible, let's just put some modern speakers and electronic equipment to recreate the SOUND!! They can create a tornado simulator, they can make it truly realistic.
The loader is not the lower rank in a UK tank it's normaly the 2ic / lcpl as well as loading he also has got the radio sets next to him and is incharge of the vehicles coming to alow the commander to command the tank.
Love the channel, but could you guys do a bunch of shows on history on other parts of the world for a change? We're all WW2, medieval, and European history experts by now. How about we learn about other parts of the same world?
This is a sham. I was a tank Commander during the Korean War. Our tanks were Patton M48’s with a 90mm cannon and turret, mounted 50 caliber machine gun. They were considered the newest and best tanks at that time. They wouldn’t stand a chance against the new Abrams or Tiger. When we were being fired on and as much as we were trained, we were almost in a panic. After a few minutes, adrenaline and training took over and we became the aggressors. You can have all the training you want, but you never know how you’re gonna react when the real shooting starts. Once you realize this is for real, then you become the trained master of what your trained to be. I am in my 80s now, but I still occasionally have nightmares. Not very many anymore thank goodness. God bless all the service men and women who are willing to give their lives so that we can have ours.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Not in this age of airpower, drone and portable anti-tank missles. I.e. why nations are pursuing drone or minimally crewed tanks controlled from remote sites.
I do think one thing when people talk about air assets, drones and portable anti-tank missiles take to destroy one tank. (from misses, to didn't destroy the tank, to hitting a tank already knocked out or that is a decoy from a even a few hundred metres it is very hard to tell especially when you are worried for your own safety). Well in terms of drones it's well over 1,000 for unguided ATM's it just under 1,000 and for guided well over 100. What's happened to THAT video about the Soviet Union? Did you take that video down only because of a complaint from a so-called "historian" from RUclips? Are you serious?
Agreed; the range seemed extremely limited, even allowing for safety considerations, and the ping-pong paint balls often seemed to be bouncing towards the 'enemy' tank without enough force to burst on impact.

Now this is going to be a great episode. I can already tell
Hope you enjoyed!

Fair question. I (small woman that doesn’t handle small spaces well either) probably would, because we’d panic together.
@@jofi4580 you’d be fine the back of one of these, they are designed to carry a section of men (7 men) with all their gear - plenty of room

Agreed, i was on the abrams in the hot and heavy oif dog days of the mid 2000s. But for the uninitiated and civvy world, they see track and pew pew, they see tonk
It’s an armoured personnel carrier FV 432 😊
What a great enjoyable upload, thanks for sharing :)

Fascinating
That’s not a tank, it’s an Armoured Personnel Carrier

Don’t assume every war will be a static war with massed assaults on flat terrain without aircover or proper combined arms.

It's not a tanks
Who would win? A 40 ton war machine beast made of steel and iron, or a 50$ remote controlled toy going brrrr with some explosives attached to it?
"On sh1t, my tank's on fire"...
Um, that;s not a tank, that's a AFV (Personnel Carrier)
I can't even survive in this capitalist hellscape.
please use metric system !
What's happened to THAT video about the Soviet Union? Did you take that video down only because of a complaint from a so-called "historian" from RUclips? Are you serious?
That aint a tank its a afv wich is very different
Surving any form of battle is pure luck, there is no skill in any battle, if someone aims there gun at you thats it
Glorified paintball marker it ain't no tank and better yet just an apc😂 we "Americans" have real tanks" haha
The shooting of the gun was very disappointing!
Agreed; the range seemed extremely limited, even allowing for safety considerations, and the ping-pong paint balls often seemed to be bouncing towards the 'enemy' tank without enough force to burst on impact.
If I wasn't hit by an AT weapon .....normally enjoy your work but that just annoyed me .
my guy, that's not a tank
