Thank 🎉you. I am from the U.S. and have just discovered my African Ancestral Tribal Clan is ( Te’ke’ ).. of Gabon, DOC & DRC… and that 2nd major language spoken behind French is “Lingala”. So at age 65, I am using these videos to learn the native tongue of my Ancestors. Thank you so much. 🙏
Yes my husband is a Congolese, most of the words in his speaking are in Lingala, yes I have been telling him long ago that Lingala is a Lingua Franca just like Portuguese in Angola. Thank you E. for the explanation. I am in the middle of learning these sentences because I am planning a trip to Kinshasa in the near future. It will be so funny!
Ah, now I understand where Lingala is spoken, I though it was just in the Democratic republic of the Congo! That's soo good to know about it. Thanks a lot
Without a doubt you are the best Lingala teacher, thank you so much for taking the time to teach all of us that love listening to Lingala music and conversations and desired to understand it because now we can cos your tutorials have opened a new world.

By 2039, lingala wil be in 15th the most spoken language in the world . By 2075, it will be in 12th after urdu. Lingala language is really great language. If you know how to speak and understand spanish, arabic, urdu, hindi, tagalog, bahasa indonesia, malay or any sister language, you will not find difficuty to pronounce the words. Polyglot will find it easy and fun especially it is mixed with french. That's my review after 10 minutes watching this video.
Wow, it's been a while! The 100 most used words/sentences. So Lingala is also spoken in the Congo Republic right? Oh I was not aware of that at all. I am a Portuguese newly qualified teacher. I know that Portuguese is spoken in a lot of countries of Africa including the central of Africa. I was thinking Congo Republic also speaks Portuguese, right. Congrats and thanks for the info. Lots of love!

Can you tell me what the phrase Lela Lela means? I have been listening to the music of Kanda Bongo Man and I can't get the song "Lela Lela" out of my head! On this video ruclips.net/video/76VFiJsFIcc/видео.html there is a subtitle that says "Let's laugh till we cry". Does that make sense to you? The reason I am asking is that I am thinking of naming my new puppy either Lela or Lela Lela and I want to be sure I understand what it means. Thank you so much for your help. Botondi!
Ko lela means to cry. Lela may be considered as imperative form of the verb to cry however, in this particular song he was referring to a person. Anyway, I will ask him (he is a family friend) and will get back to you.
