I think this kind of tour suits a purpose if you're short on time. But really, the Sahara is a destination in its own right and would be a lot more enjoyable if given more time. You can easily put a trip together out of Marrakech using the CTM express buses to some of the desert towns and then using local outfitters to do the "desert tour" bit. You've then got options regarding where you eat, where you stay and what kind of desert experience you want. The buses are great; air-conditioned, air-suspension, cheap and well-organized. Another great 1-2 night trip from Marrakech by bus is to the coastal town of Essaouira. Like a laid-back mini-Marrakech by the sea, with its own microclimate.
Yes you do not get long on the tour and would be great if you could spend more time in the Sahara. I went to Essaouria and is a brilliant place to spend a day and would recommend.
I allways love my visits to Marrakesh ,
It's a a unique place which has lots of history and is very interesting
A pretty bucket list activity for us to be fair! We can't wait to get over to Africa!
I would definitely recommended you go!
