    The capacity seems to be the main concern.

    • @robmausser
      @robmausser 2 месяца назад +4

      it wont be, people just don't know math. It will have close to the same capacity as Leviathan. Its not about trains or seats, its about riders per hour. Leviathan takes 3 minutes from start to finish when you consider being stuck in the brake run. Alpen Fury takes just over 1 minute. You can run 3x the trains in the same time through the system. You take away a lifthill that takes more than a minute to crest and being stuck in the brake run with a 3rd train you can run many many more trains per hour. All that matters is that dispatch is fast. Hopefully no seatbelts and things should move quick.

    7:39 I really hope it's no lockers. The parkfinally got rid of the ones at Guardian. We don't need more. Yukon/Guardian's new bin system is great. Happy to have that, if that's what the park does.

    • @unseeninja

    I feel a way to work the capacity which would be a headache for sure especially the long line. Offer free lockers for loose articles? But do it like velocicoaster have ppl place their things in locker right before the staircase to the station. This way guests can have their phones for photos and phone things lol. Then u hopefully eliminate the need for netting at photo op areas.
    As a former op at wonderland their biggest issue is guests taking their sweet time with their loading and unloading. If u look at (it's been a minute since I've operated at wonderland) backlot stunt coaster the op starts ur ride with "quickly take ur seats and pull ur restraints as the doors are now closing!"

    For the most part, I agree with these points. The two train thing as well as the “no airtime” critique. You actually touched on a point I was about to make in the comments at the end of the video. After you mentioned Leviathan’s RPH, it only strengthened my point about the bins. I really hope we don’t get the traditional bins for this ride because I’ve noticed that the reasons dispatches are so slow is because guests take time to put away their loose articles which also makes me hope the trains are good.
    As for the airtime thing, I’ve actually seen that more people are quite happy with it not having much airtime but for the people who are complaining about there not being airtime: as someone who loves it, I have to respectfully ask. Why do you want MORE when you already have two big rides in the park that give more than enough airtime?? Not everyone likes airtime that much. Like Brendon said, an inversion based coaster was what the park was lacking. We have quite enough airtime at the park in comparison lol.

    I don't think the capacity numbers will be as large an issue as people are worried about. That is unless they're down to one train. Which would be awful. AlpenFury is pretty much exactly what CW needed. The coaster adds so much to the skyline of the park. It'll be amazing.
    Then next I hope they rip out Time Warp and Flight Deck to build a new style coaster that would mirror the placement of Levithan. The front gate would look so epic with the three coasters all meeting near there.

    The inversion argument is just wrong as I’ve heard people say it does five of the same inversions in a row on the return run and that’s just wrong, the only repeat is the two back to back corkscrews and they are both profiled very differently anyways. The capacity argument is also pretty silly because I’ve only seen it compared to our B and M coasters but they are the best capacity machines in the industry so of course they’re better but I’m personally glad we’re not getting a fourth. Also alpenfury will be surrounded by 5 other coasters, all with worse capacity, it might actually provide some relief for rides like fly, thunder run, guardian, the bat and vortex

  • @alexandercrew2538
    @alexandercrew2538 2 месяца назад +1

    My biggest complaint is lack of theming. All the teasing with the whole Dragon Vs. Yeti thing in the trailers, and an incredible backstory for the ride, yet it seems to be totally absent from the ride itself. I wasn't expecting Expedition Everest or anything here, but I wish there was SOMETHING inside the mountain other than just a tunnel. Even the cue/load station being outdoors instead of using any pre-existing areas and pathways in the mountain seems like it could have had better theming. The first portion of the old Walkway was indoors, I realize the outdoor portion can't be used anymore but I was pretty confident the old entrance was going to be incorporated and we'd get some decent thematic stuff.

    I fully agree that the ride should have a spare train if they’re planning to run two trains operation. But I agree more with ElToroRyan that they should have added an unload station like on Millenium Force to add another block zone to have a three train operation. This would especially help since the trains are hard to get in and out of.

  • @Rhythmmical

    I disagree about the inversions not being repetitive. After the turnaround, there's a roll, and then another roll...and then another roll, followed by another roll. Then an actual airtime hill that hopefully might provide some much needed powerful ejector...and then another roll. The rolls are planned out in a unique way, but we're afraid they'll all feel the same. I think a better counter is to point out how everyone loves repetitive airtime hills. The inversions are repetitive after the turnaround, but that won't be a problem because they'll probably be airtime packed and fun still. Repetition isn't a bad thing if the repetition is fun!

    Do you think that having a launch in the mountain with a tight tunnel will have a negative impact on inspection/maintenance for the 2nd launch? Will it be harder for maintenance to check it if it goes down? Will there be a staff door to reach the segment?
    One more question, will there be any lighting or effects on the 2nd launch besides the fire effect on the top of the mountain?

    Don't lie to us or yourself. There is no way in hell this gets RPH of 1000.
    For it to have a chance, it would need 3 trains and a separate unload station (like CW existing Premier launch coaster).
    There is no reason it shouldn't have had the capacity for 3 trains. Besides cost cutting.
    It still has a very good chance of being Premier's best coaster.

Skyrocket at Kennywood is a great ride by premier but the trains are really uncomfortable. The negative comments I've read seem to be mostly just jealousy. The most important thing the park can do is streamline the operation. No lose articles whatsoever. This will help with load/unload times.
    Do we know where the transfer track will be, to store trains? Could they store trains inside the mountain? I'm trying to visualize where they would put a building to accommodate 2 trains, without it looking over crowded. I do wish this was a bit longer. I like the layout, the inversions, the theming. CW will definitely need to have a top team of crew members running this attraction. Even keep a supervisor on site.

    I'll be the first to say this. I bet the lineup for Alpen fury will be tunneled under the mountain. And the entrance to the line will be through the big wooden door on the Northeast side of the mountain, behind the waterfall. Right now this door has the Alpen fury logo on it. The theming through the line will tell the story as you embark into the mountain. How cool would that be??

    Don't understand why people don't like seatbelts on coasters. It gives the gp peace of mind. Without them a lot of people wouldn't ride them. Enthusiasts only seem to knock them, probably because there spoiled when it comes to rides and them Parkes.

    I think the lack of airtime concern is valid. I do wish there was another airtime hill or two with EJECTOR air, something our other airtime coasters do NOT have. I think I'll love this ride but I also feel I would enjoy it more with more airtime. I'd rather have 3 well rounded coasters rather than 3 specialized coasters for airtime, inversions, and speed for example. It makes for a better and more varied experience. Most of the consensus top coasters in the world have a variety of elements, not just a specific gimmic.

      He thinks there might be upside down ejector which isn't the traditional airtime most people refer to and he's not even sure about it as it's hard to confirm compared to traditional airtime. Until we ride it we won't know but there isn't a lot of obvious ejector airtime, even if you'd like to believe different based off of one person's guess. Ever heard of confirmation bias? In the end I hope he's right but don't be so sure just because you want to believe it. All we've seen is a render afterall

      This is a good point. The growth of pay per ride fast lane was mentioned at the investor call last week as a strategy to bring in more money.
      "Guest spending on extra-charge products during the period was up 1%, driven in large part by increased Fast Lane sales, which benefited from the broad rollout of our new single ride Fast Lane product.."

      @@billybob33366 Have you visited parks outside of Wonderland? I understand Wonderland wants to make money, but not at the expense of making fast lane customers unhappy. Did you know Cedar Point had to put a restriction on TT2 for Fast Lane because they knew both lines would be too long? So I don't believe Wonderland purposely doesn't care about capacity because they only want to sell more fast lane. Maybe Cedar Fair will adopt Flash Pass virtual cue appointment system
