As an Englishman I have huge respect for Gavaskar - what a player he was.

I know, we didn’t have proper middle order. Only GR Vishwanath was reliable batsman. We were dependent on spinners. England pitch specially lords and Birmingham were not spinner friendly. Only Abid Ali was medium fast bowler. Madan Lal came as new player.

1974 test match audience seems to be as full as 2018 test match audience

To Kid Zoom: Daytime cricket in the weekday, every day is difficult for the working person, maybe the later afternoon and weekends fare the best.

Is it just me or did Madan Lal had a four times longer run up but bowled slower than Derek Underwood?

Madan Lal was much quicker than Underwood.
