Yay
That color was well worth the trouble. Very good.
I've had my '23 Bolt euv Lt since early march '23; I bought it as a commuter only, but like it so much I sold my gas and diesel vehicles -- crazy high used car prices helped that decision too.
The euv has good interior room for the size, and I find it quiet and a great ride: I love the quiet. I wish a heat pump was optional for better winter range, but I know what it is, and plan accordingly.
I got the LT -- with the driver and heated seat packages -- as it was thousands less than the Premier package, and I don't buy sunrooves anymore (they all leak after a time), and I didn't want supercruse.
Had a Fiat 500e for the last five years. Loved that and it only had 80 mile range! Just got a 2023 Bolt EUV. I love this even more! Will never go back to ICE.
I've had a Fiat 500e for 5 years just bought a 23 Bolt EV!
I got a 23 EUV in February. So far we love it after nearly 7,000 miles. Going to put it up for sale and pull the profit out of it soon. She accurately described driving the Bolt (or any electric car) compared to driving an ICE car. Excellent description. We paid sticker, no markup at my dealer in SW Michigan.
We have gone full EV and totally forgot how unpleasant ice vehicles are. We were recently on a trip to Montreal, had a brand new Lexus RX hybrid Uber, and it was so tiring hearing the engine drone of the car in stop and go traffic and straining to go up the hills. We later had a bolt Uber, and it was a much more pleasant ride as the EV effortlessly went up and down the hills.
You just bought the bolt and you are already selling it, why.
I feel the same about my EUV as she does; Dear hubby, No, it's my car, you cannot add or change it as you see fit, lol. I do let him drive my EUV but he's not allowed to change the settings etc. He can change anything he wants on HIS car. This was a fun review to watch!
I've owned this car for just over a month and I love it. I bought it because of the price but was pleasantly surprised with how fun and comfortable it was.
Great video...got my LT EUV without markup a couple months ago..drove ~40 miles into rural Illinois to avoid any dealer markup. Super happy with it so far...getting 4.5+m/kwh. My home charging is only running like 11 cents a kwh...
leather or cloth seats?
I’ve watched 100 videos about EV’s and Bolts in particular and yours is the Best!. It’s amazing how similar our thoughts are… I got the EUV Premiere because it’s the one that came in with my 1000 deposit… my wife and I were just saying how we never use the moon roof, just like you, I opened it on the Blue Ridge Parkway just because we have it. The Bose system is nice but CarPlay is what made us feel right at home so I don’t know why they’re discontinuing that either. It’s so funny that ICE owners seem to want to challenge you for buying an EV, all I can think of is how my father told how people used to yell ‘get a horse’. I love horses too but I’m not going to drive to work or the grocery store. I believe that EV’s are the future and I’m so happy I lived long enough to have one myself.
We Love Our Bolt EUV!!!! It’s really the perfect car for us, two adults with a small dog. She is So Right, Agile, quick, powerful, makes driving easy fun and fast” I quoted you because you said Exactly how our experience has been and you said it better. I’ve been thinking of quick comments like Quiet, Quick and Comfortable! The car is just a dream come true and so much fun to drive. My biggest concern or disappointment was when Chevy announced they were discontinuing the Bolt, oh and CarPlay. Why discontinue the bast car and the best seller ever??? The One Pedal driving is great as well. I have a CRV Hybrid. For a time I thought the hybrid was going to be my first choice due to no range anxiety BUT NO. The EV is just so much better in so many ways that you again, describe so well. It is like a golf cart in the sense that it is so quick and quiet but so much more comfortable and safe and sturdy on the road. I charge at home and basically drive for Free. My electric bill has not increased. I never stop at gas stations, obviously, but you don’t realize what a blessing that is until you have to go gas up the hybrid. EV - No gas, no oil changes, no tuneups, no exhaust or muffler system… I think of my Bolt as I think of my iPhone…. Why would I ever go back to a land line??? The only thing or the main thing that needs to keep improving is the charging network and the battery range which I’m sure will happen. I’m not, or did not do this to think I’m Saving Money, which I am, or think I’m saving the planet, which I hope we are but I’m driving the Bolt and sticking with EV’s because they are The Best Driving Experience! Thanks for your video!
During the first 500 miles on my 2023 Bolt EV L2 from August into October, it averages 5 miles per KWH.
I got my 2023 Bolt EUV Premier about 3 months ago without any markup by ordering it from the factory.
Totally think it is a wonderful car. It is my third EV and by far my favorite.
How did you order directly from the factory? Thanks
I find that I like the styling of the Bolt better than most of the competition. The Model 3 looks like a suppository to my eye, and the interior looks "cheap" rather than "minimalist".
Funny, at 16:02 you passed a Bolt EUV in the left turn lane. I have a '23 EUV Premiere with SC and SS. I got it slightly used with 2300 miles but for $32k out the door I couldn't refuse. I traded my 2020 Bolt for it. I use the sunroof to vent out heat when parked which you cannot do in a Mach-e or Tesla. It also has a shade the closes out the sun - It gets hot in Atlanta! Love the light blue! Sub'd. Oh and yes it does have built in navi.
Thanks for the video.
We've owned Bolts for over seven years, we got the sunroof because we also wanted navigation as Android Auto was hit and miss in our last Bolt. AA is much better in our 2023 EUV but the surprise is that we really love the sunroof, makes the whole interior brighter and appear larger - we never expected it but are happy we got it.
Nice honest review. You covered a lot. Thanks for sharing.
Bought mine in 1/23/23 to offset my SUV and i just broke 22,000 mi yesterday. Great Great fricking car.
Great having coffee with you guys this morning! What a sharp little car😁
Alissa’s reason for returning to EVs is exactly why EVs are better cars. Fun, easy, fast, agile, nimble, and one pedal driving.
Team DM, On the face of it, this Bolt is a sensible choice. Let's see how you feel about it after a year or two. 😁
Love the color
we bought a demo bolt euv, because it was fully loaded for the price of a base.
very happy with it.
supercruise is nice, since i live in a small town and mostly anywhere i go is supercruise highway to get there.
it's a quiet, smooth riding car that is cheap to drive.
insurance is low because of it's safety rating and features.
and energy from my house is 1/3 the cost of fossils or even a bit less.
the msrp of mine is where the tesla starts.
couldn't have got a better long range electric for the price.
kia and hyundai are more expensive too, and i don't like how they stand on warranties.
or don't stand, i should say.
after the battery problem, i have high confidence in the bolt as a reliable car.
you talk of gas savings. don't forget all the service savings too.
I’ll have to share this video with Steve, he wants a Bolt.
my bolt euv is fully loaded with super cruise and it is great to use on the highway the only difference in my super cruise to the latest version is i have to manually change lanes
In Chevrolet Bolt EUV sunroof is combined with navigation and upgraded Bose speakers. I like this package.
I charge my Bolt EUV at home only and pay Alabama Power less than $.08 per KW. Plus I also get that price for everything in the house from 9PM to 5 AM, so washer, dryer, dishwasher, and water heaters are on timers to work only during that time and we have hot water all day. It only cost me around $1.50 for most charges each week or so. It actually saves me more money than it cost me to recharge the Bolt!!
I love this color too for my 19 y/o son. He preferred the black so we got him the 2023 Bolt EUV 1LT, basic trim but all black. No mark up at Dublin Chevrolet. My son also qualified for DCAP (Driving Clean Assistannce Program) grant which helps paid $7500 towards down payment
Our complains so far are the snall rolling between gears when the surface is slightly sloped even we drive with 1 pedal driving. This is really annoying comparing my 2023 Model Y which never has that snall and I drive 1 pedal with the Y as well. Interior plastice trims rattling is also very annoying and it seems to be everywhere.
Alissa's reasoning behind wanting an EV is exactly why they are the future. the regular consumer is convinced. they just need a lower cost of entry and long distance charging infrastructure. We enthusiasts are the holdout because we care about ICE noise and feel.
I'd be happy to have an EV for my daily and a high revving ICE for my fun car. ICE cars will probably go the way of manual transmissions. They'll always be wanted by some, but their numbers will shrink.
Anyone who makes noise with their cars needs to grow up. Wroom wroom. Put headphones on with engine sounds and don’t disturb others.
@@DailyMotoryou guys are on point, that's the reason why my daily driver is now a Mini Cooper electric.
Would have been super helpful if you would have put an adult in he back set just so we could see how well someone would fit back there.
Alissa seems like a cool chick and she’s got a cool car that’s a bit of a stoplight sleeper. It’s super punchy off the line and hits 60 in just 6.5s. That charging speed sucks though if you need to do more than 300 miles in a day.
We agree with her. ICE vehicles feel so antiquated after driving EVs. We both love the smooth, seamless surge of power and the easy one pedal driving, along with less overall costs of ownership that we'll never go back and will only buy EVs that offer one pedal driving. Long distance road trips haven't been a problem for us at all, also.
The Bolt is a perfect fit for single people or couples without children, it is a tight fit for families with young kids.
Nice, helpful video. Lots of useful, real world insights not often found on reviews. Most car infotainment screens these days are nearly vertical but the Bolt EUV's 10" display is much less vertical. Are glare or sun on the Bolt EUV screen an issue at times because of its angle? Also, the display is lower on the dash than on some other cars. When you look at the display while driving (for instance, while using navigation), does it take your eyes off the road a bit longer than typical because it's so low on the dash?
It sucks that you had issues with super cruise on the Yukon as I drive my EUV on a multi lane highway (sometimes 5 lanes with lots of traffic) in Atlanta regularly and I can't remember it ever disengaging for no reason. Maybe it is an issue with the Yukon. There are times when I will set it and let it drive for the entire 25 minute trip to work.
The EUV is an amazing vehicle. I didn't think I could love a car as much as my 2017 Volt but I am already falling for the EUV. I bought the Bolt to replace the Volt but my wife also really likes the Volt so we traded in her car instead. My wife is a major technophobe and the Bolt (and Volt) are great cars for her because they both still operate like any other car.
I wish you could aim the air conditioning vents at the driver (I mean without cutting off the airflow), cause the A/C isnt very powerful.
Lipstick or chapstick goes in the silly dead space 😂
How about bolt update?
Just now buying mine. White/grey-white premier no sun roof or nav. Found a dealer on ca central coast offering Costco $1k discount and no markup. Just ordered the charger adapter from your site. Thanks for the earlier video. My first EV.
Wow, great find, that seems like a good deal! Not too much to update at this point; Alissa still likes it, I like driving it too. Did have one situation where the car forgot her phone for CarPlay and she had to pair it again. Also we might install some aftermarket speakers. Hope you enjoy! The white looks good.
@@DailyMotor which upgraded speakers would you consider?
Haven't looked into it yet. I'm not very familiar with the aftermarket world.@@pasoroblesbruce7370
That is a great deal. Is the Costco credit case by case or is that available for everyone? I have been talking to a local dealer and I can’t seem to find that anywhere.
@@johns1367 only found one dealer in my area, ca central coast was honoring Costco discount.
What is the price of monthly connectivity service for the Bolt EUV? If you do without it (assuming that's possible?), what functionalities do you lose?
That’s. nice colour bolt
Very helpful video - thank you. I'm 5'9 and wanted find out if it's possible to fold down flat the back seats and sleep overnight (camping)?
Good! I think it would be difficult. I would go out and try, but I'm not home this week.
I LOVE sunroofs though so it is a plus for me. I couldn't care less about the sound system. Half the speakers used in cars today and still garbage.
I'm trying to decide, but the only negative for me is the slow 55KW charger. I drive to Sacramento from San Jose weekly ~260 mile round-trip and don't want to wait 30-45 mins to charge.
Yeah, unless you're stopped in Sacramento for a period of time, I wouldn't purchase a Bolt for that trip.
@@DailyMotor fortunately, I do stay a few hours / overnight.
Hmmmm, with access to a level 2 charger? Do you primarily do highway driving? In that case, you might consider just getting something like a Jetta or a Camry. The 40+ highway mpg will cost about the same if not less than public EV charging.@@JB-fq9dp
just get comma x3 for auto drive. doesnt rely on car sensors tht get dirty and is better then super cruise and a bit cheaper.
The price of this is quite attractive
With 49kwh divided by 7kwh why let someone get on your roof
7:34 Be careful with the 360 camera - it doesnt see stuff to the sides if they are above the bottom of the side mirrors (cause thats where the cameras are). Like the little plastic handle on the rip fence on my table saw, is probably 3" higher than that. If I had NOT had the cameras Id have been looking over my should and probably seen it, but I was using the awesome cameras, backing slowly into the garage and _crunch!_ . $2400 to fix the dent. Didnt even break the little plastic handle on the saw. @#$!
This Car is Blue
nah. it's just another boring rainy-day colored car. If you want a BLUE car, get an Oasis Blue Bolt!
See Bart Johnson at Emich Chevy in Colorado. You can order with $ 500.00 deposit and there isn't ANY markup. Best buying experience with Bart and Emich. Such a great person and great dealership. Normally it's a nightmare at a dealer when buying any car, but this was the best buying experience I have ever had. Love my Ice Blue Bolt and keep finding reasons to drive it. It's crazy fun to drive.
Can you provide info on the California tax credit that you mentioned?
It was a good picture at night. What camera do you shoot with?
GoPro Hero 11!
Make it redline, Plasti Dip the wheels black and put red stripes from Temu on mirrors
$22 per 250 miles is about 8-9 cents per mile. My long-term average is 10 cents, with premium gas. So yea... can't do that at a regular gas station...
how tall is elicia in sneakers to reach the liftgate while its up--she reached it kinda easily
nice review
She's 5'2"!
To get more stop light action make it a red line, Plasti Dip the wheels black, red stickers off of Temu (adds .3 hrsprs)
I hate the fact that they will charge you $30 a month for Super Cruise after 3 years... what in tarnation!
Maybe they'll add battlepasses to cars soon too.
that has not been confirmed yet it is a guess people have been applying
Amazing,Why not introduce bolt in India.
Time for an update????
Coming in Augustish
I only buy American union made BOOK 📚 IT! 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲😘
I don’t like the brake lights and turn signals being down low
or that they are combined. brake lights should be SEPARATE from amber turn signals! it was done properly on our 2019 Bolt.. Why they fked it up on the new ones is beyond me!
No one talks about horrible charging times if you like roadtrips!!
Can you convince me to get this over the volvo c 40
Take the $20k you save, put $18k in a 3 month treasury bond for 3 months at over 5%, keep repeating that until the market crashes. Take $1k and do something nice for your partner or family, take the other $1k and do something nice for yourself.
You do realize that Nissan Leaf was the first mass produced EV, right?
... in recent years. There were many mass produced EV's in the past.
1 pedal driving is for perverts and muskrats, and you don’t strike me as a muskrat. Lol😂 jk, you do you
What about the seats? I hear they are not great for comfort.
I was worried about that at first, but we've done a few 2+ hour stints and I haven't had an issue. I think if you were large it might get tough.
Thanks. We just got our new Bolt EUV on Friday and as it turns out the seats are just fine. We LOVE LOVE the car. This was a great video. Like how you approached it from a user perspective. We also got Ice Blue! Best to you.
