This is my opinion as well as some sentiments I relate with from various articles on Metacritic:

I feel like recently, the music industry has witnessed a trend where artists often tread a thin line between drawing inspiration from others and outright replicating another artist's work or creating a lesser version of it. To me, Utopia adds absolutely nothing new to the table unlike specifically Yeezus and MBDTF.
Kanye is renowned for his unique fusion of raw emotion and audacious experimental sounds. His music is not just innovative but resonates deeply due to the risks he takes. These albums dive into complex themes like racism, materialism, and societal issues while blending diverse genres such as progressive rock, baroque pop, and traditional hip-hop. Kanye's music transcends mere sound; it offers challenging experiences that push the boundaries of both the listener and the genre, marked by a blend of different musical styles and a willingness to expose vulnerabilities in his lyrics.
In contrast, Travis Scott's "UTOPIA" seems to aim for a similar impact but lacks in depth. The features in "UTOPIA" appear more as a formality or an aesthetic choice rather than integral to the album's narrative, giving a sense of artists collecting a check without adding substantive value (for me, carti, swae lee, the weeknd, kid cudi, bad bunny and sza, all artists I like) In comparison Kanye has a knack of squeezing every last bit of talent out of an artist in order to elevate the narrative or feeling of a song. This lack of genuine emotional depth and integration of features makes "UTOPIA" feel more like a well-intended tribute rather than a heartfelt original. Lyrics wise, Travis is average or a little above average at best, better than let’s say Drake. But compare any lyrics to Blood on the leaves or Black skinhead... you can’t.
Moreover, "UTOPIA" is criticized for its safe production approach, which dulls the edginess found in past groundbreaking works. It lacks the raw, expressive quality that is vivid in Kanye's compositions. To me Utopia has no substance and feels like a stagnation in artistic growth.
Now I am NOT saying Utopia is particularly “bad”, Travis for me fluctuates between a 6-8 rating, which is totally fine. There are so many artists I enjoy listening to that fall in this category and even less. But I just don’t think comparing Utopia or anything else for that matter to Yeezus is fair.

@@asmrunitysingsreally enjoyed reading this, you should do asmr music reviews lol. One thing I will note though is that Travis has never been an artist that has any sort of substance, so I wouldn’t judge his music from a standpoint of looking for depth like you would on a Kanye or record. I think most people go to Travis purely for production, which I felt like he delivered for the most part on Utopia. I only compared it to Yeezus because the production is kind of similar, though not as experimental.
