thank Notch they changed the netherite tool upgrade mechanisms. Having to choose between antikb and mending in snapshots is a pain until they made it so you can retain enchantments with a smithing table.

Diamond is good, it is just a smarter tactic to make Netherite if you can, Diamond is very good for making Netherite, but tbh Netherite is better to use, especially with Potions and Enchants.

Netherite’s not worth it, It’s only a slight boost from diamond, The only thing that is worth netherite is the durability, which you can just combine diamond pickaxes.

1. Diamond was released before netherite
2. Diamond was the best before netherite

4. You can make a enchanting table
and 5. you don’t need to melt or craft the diamond, just mine it

1. you can make netherite armor and tools easily with just one netherite on a smithing table
2. Diamond armor and tools require too much diamonds just to make them
3. Netherite tools and armor are more powerful and durable than diamonds
4. Netherite can’t burn in lava
5. it’s the best in 2020, being the best before netherite doesn’t count, netherite is more loved than diamonds now
and 6. it will soon be the most used ore in minecraft.
