If Allen Anthony can see this, thank you brother. This song has and still continues to get me through a lot of hard times. Thank you for this timeless classic.
I was in college when this song came out. I was broke trying to enjoy my college experience. This song motivated me so much. I played it every single day. This song means so much to me.
WTF were Jay and Dame thinking? This is the coldest song ever to come from the Roc! Not to mention the pure soul and inspiration this song gives and the MF BANGS! Very rare combination in one song. They shoulda put AA's album out. Somebody holla at Hov and bring AA back!

@@californiajones619 I literally just listened to this song a few weeks ago. It’s a song that I still till this day get emotional 😭 behind when I reflect on how far I’ve come in my life and the trials and tribulations I have overcame that were placed on my path to destroy me! I GIVE ALL PRAISE, WORSHIP, GLORY, & HONOR to God and my spiritual team. Without them I wouldn’t have risen from the ashes! 🙌🏾
This was the shit!! I remember when it first played on VH1 soul! I was like he looks familiar, then I realized he was from the group Christion! I love the message in both the song and video. I was surprised to see him still signed to Rocafella. Classic in my book!
+NellyBelle I forgot that he even had the song for this they play the rap hook feat freeway so much. i always loved his voice (just off of that hook) so soothing. glad this was uploaded
Damn this still Flows 13 years later, I know All Black people in the Hood can relate. Peace to Real Music cause this Crap on the Radio now and the so called Artist Ain't Worth the Salt in Bread!! Chicago got Love 4 Real Music!!!!!!
Gotta down vote that comment Jeff. I love this song, and I also love the version with Freeway.. But to say literally "this is REAL music they don't MAKE music like this anymore" is a blatant slap in the face to Ronnie Foster. The "real" song is Mystic Brew. Most jazz cats that have their music sampled can't stand that part of hip hop, real talk. For the most part, the record company that owns the rights/masters gives permissions to artists to sample the songs. The actual creators aren't very happy with it at all. To quote a close friend of mine that is a world class musician who heard me listening to a Nujabes track that featured a Luiz Bonfa sample, "I can't stand this, give me the Bonfa and let it be"
One of my favorites.... But just paid attention to the message in the video..... Makes it even more of a banger... Sadly enough this era of music is gone....... Too positive
What I love about this song is that it has a message the brother is a good man and got love for his black people it's a positive black song it wasn't meant for you to dance it was meant for you to think and that why the Brother didn't get his props but Brother if you see this I'm giving you your flowers Power to the People ❤

I was 19 when this song came out on 35 now and still can relate to this song. I wish R&B was good. The early 2000’s was the last of great musical messages.

ROC-a-fella COMPLETELY dropped the ball on their r&b acts… Christion, Rell, Allen Anthony 🤦🏽♂️ they had a cold @$$ r&b roster and eff’d it all up
Dame saw it ....Jay Didn't.

If Allen never did another song/video he accomplished great things with this one.. alright !!
The Christion album he did with his brother before was amazing, but the label did a terrible job promoting that album too 🤨🙄🤦🏿♂️

I've never heard this song, I know the Freeway song this is in though. That Glenn Lewis song is such a good track
And all the Stevie wonder influence!!! We were so lucky to resonate these grooves into in existence.
Was just thinking the same thing as came back to listen to this gem..they both got that same aura about them
Yup
