Can Hollywood come up with anything original? This is a re-make of “Valley Girl”, a classic cult film with Nicholas Cage who played a punk rocker from Hollywood who falls in love with a HS Valley Girl who loves him back but is constantly worried about what everyone thinks when their seen together.
This looks like a Disney, CW drenched, nonsensical, over the top hot mess, play on the original Valley Girl movie, minus the Valley talk. Not impressed 😕

As much as I loved the Happy Death Day movies, Jessica Rothe is 33 years old. Speaking as someone who is 32 but has "baby face" I will say she is too old to play a high schooler. We just mentally can't relate anymore to teenagers. Same for Mae Whitman who is my age. At a certain point it's just not accurate. I think 25 (maybe even 21) should be the maximum age to play a teen. That way you can probably still remember what it felt like. That said, I will probably still watch this haha. Edit: Apparently I should include Ashleigh Murray in this rant as well, she's 32. Ladies, stop letting Hollywood infantile you just because of how your looks are perceived. We are GROWN WOMEN!
Absolutely. So good the aesthetic is roughly about 10% as good as the original. Just watched the 1983 version tonight and was very surprised by it. It worked! So many unique and interesting scenes. Actors would do things you don't expect and yet the story seemed inevitable in the end.
It's good for new generations who are not going to watch an old movie. Chill. Maybe it won't work for you because you already like the original, but it's good for new people to get to know the story. And that's ok.

this just looks like it was made by old people to show how "cool" they were and to make fun of younger people who don't feel like they can fully express themselves/arent understood, which is a serious issue as lots of young people feel like they aren't being heard in regards to things like politics and societal issues, then to create something like this is just another way for the older generations to make fun of younger kids and to write of their voices as childish, stupid and incorrect. also I know i did not just see one of the pauls in this like wow they really want this to fail. also love the black tokenism
