That was good advice. Thank you. Sometimes I feel I might blurt out things people may not be comfortable hearing. I am trying not to mention certain facts. Thank you.
That's a great way to tell someone, thanks for sharing Iam also living my life fully with my colostomy bag. Iam glad that iam alive and it saved my life
Laura...you are a ROCK STAR BOO!!!! JUST saw you on Tosh.1.0 or whatever its called...your awesome...a credit to all those who are challenged in the same way you are. I would love to formerly ask you to dinner. :)
So what if my having an ostomy offends someone. My poop leaves my body and ends up in the toilet just like everyone else. It just takes a different route to get there. It's not like I'm going to lift up my shirt and show you my bag or empty it in front of you.
Good question! In 5 years I've truly only had 1 really negative reaction, which was from a friend of a friend. When I explained my ostomy he said "Ew, that's gross." Simple, but damaging sentence. I replied by saying "You know what's not gross? Being alive. My ostomy saved my life." That shut him up pretty quickly and I hope it gave him a bit of perspective! My attitude is always that the people that enjoy being around you will be grateful you have an ostomy, because it's the reason you're still able to be around!
Does this question come up a lot? I feel like this is pretty personal.... I mean if its between you living and dying, this should be self explanatory. If someone had to get a heart transplant you wouldn't question them why they did it...
If anyone has a negative reaction to learning about someone's ostomy then that person wasn't worth knowing in the first place.
Your original vlog page has been very helpful. I'm glad someone noticed your talent and brought you on to help their customers. Good luck to you!
komputec Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm so glad it was helpful for you! I'm trying to be a support to as many people as I can!

@@Shieldhealthcare I would have removed my ostomy bag and thrown it at him. And said "Now that's gross!"😀
