Dallas is the reason why this series isn’t 1-1. They had their opportunity in game 2, but it’s hard for the role players to get going when you have your best player being too ball dominant and dribbling the air out of the ball for 20 seconds straight and expect somebody to make a shot with 5 seconds left on the play clock.

A not timid JT(compared to 2022) who is not yet scoring at a high level, but is doing all the other right things. And I ask myself, just imagine if they did hit their 3 point shots as they do. Maybe one the MAVS will win. If we focus on Luka as an important part of success, although I wish him to be a better defence player, sorry to say, it won`t be better defence wise going forward even the next years. Actually, I expect him to be more injured during his upcoming career due to his physics. I observed quite a while Luka playing national team, Europe, NBA and can assure you his defence is at best mediocre. There are things difficult to express in statistics e.g. help defence (not speaking one on one defence where Luka is "swimming"). When he is shouting "nobody can defend me" something is shouting "Luka cannot defend anybody", Luka comes across childish. Watch him and only him on video tapes when he is defending, only put your eyes on him in defence not watching the ball. It is simply demotivating in the long term for other defensive players to play with him in a team. I had myself experience with such type of players (chubbiness works to some extend offensively, but those players are weak in defence, except you measure them against specific tasks assigned to them) taking most of the shots, dribbling the ball endlessly. Defence is not only box out and collect the rebound or stealing a ball profiting from the pressure created by other team mates. A good defender makes his assigned offensive player hand over the ball to your team mates or throw it away. It will be difficult to find the obedient role players to elevate Luka to the wholly grail of a won championship. If he won't make it this year, he will never. We will have to discuss this maybe in 5 years again where we stand. But that is my prediction which I don't even like myself. Bottom line for this series only 1 game for the MAVS at the most.

the Celtics usually sh*t the bed at least one game per series, unfortunately for the Mavs that game was game 2 and they blew their opportunity to take advantage of it. The Celtics who shot 10/39 for 3, who's star player in Tatum struggled the last two games still managed to run away with the victory, you have to imagine they are now feeling extremely confident and dangerous. Add on to the fact that they are 6-0 on the road this post season. (They're shooting 34.9% from 3 and 46.9% on FG on the road). I wouldn't expect them to have another bad shooting game

Well they’ve split the quarters. So it shows they are more equal than you think. Take Kyrie Mia and yeah ofcourse it’s the Mavs. Boston didn’t play great but we’ve yet to see Mavs play even close to their best. Missing wide open shots in not normal. Boston makes 10 threes? Dallas makes 6. It’s literally not them when Kai isn’t there in the 4th to switch the burden off Luka. That’s how they win.

The Mavs just aren't hitting their shots. It's that simple. Combined with Kyrie having off performances and Luka's turnovers, it's a recipe for disaster. Celtics didn't play particularly well in game 2 and still won. If the Celtics turn it up even a little more and Tatum finally gets going and has a big game, it's over. There's just so many guys with talent across the court who can step up if another player is having an off game.
Celtics were not hitting their shots either. If the Celtics made all the missed shots they still would have won and by double digits like game 1.

It was the fact that they kept jacking them even though they weren’t hitting, and that typically leads to Boston losing pretty handily; it’s what got them bounced from the playoffs last year. The difference in game 2 really came down to free throws and turnovers. Dallas turned the ball over 15 times and shot less than 70% from the line. Don’t care what team you are or who your playing against, 9 times out of 10 a team with those numbers is losing
