Thank you very much for the detailed instructions with actual settings. Some RUclipsrs clickbait us with "settings" but don't really teach us how. It most definitely must be a bug. If your mV caps out at 1070 and you reduce clock speeds on par with that, it will bug out and crash the entire driver regardless of the operation. I do notice when stressing out the gpu and turning down the clocks and voltage slowly, it slightly artifacts at 94% voltage or 1070, which means that the driver must have a built in protection to auto-reset the gpu when it detects slight artifacting? At 95% it's fine for the most part because the core clocks can't hit high enough on the most simplest stress test on furmark lol. GPU Hotspot temps of ~80+ celsius when on stock settings and reducing voltage will drastically reduce the hotspot temps to like 75-76 and such...
Thanks. I'm using a single fan 6600 XT. The GPU could handle a 2600mhz boost but it was a bit too much for the small heatsink. Dialing down to 2500mhz makes the boost clock more stable and a bit cooler. Managed to undervolt it to 1070mV. I think it could go even lower but benchmarking for stability is a bit of pain, so I'll just leave it there.
@@jerowe_5896 i just leave it on default with latest driver. they tend to prioritize low noise over everything else. i stopped bothering with undervolt too because it makes the fan spins much faster and noisier.
this has made a huge difference in my rx 6700 xt by undervoiting. by card is a sapphire pulse and i must say at stock voltage with overclock of 2.7 as min and 2.8 as max wasnt worth it. so i ended up with a undervoit of 1100mv's with clock speeds of 2.6ghz as min and 2.7ghz as maximum and boy this made my fans used to go over 3000rpm. now their running 850rpm up to 1200rpm if the card got warm. thanks so much anicent gameplay for showing this. it just shows that overclocking and undervoiting is a good idea because if the tempture is low and amps and low and voltage is low it will allow the gpu to boost alot more. makes sense just like on ryzen.
@@AncientGameplays yea I agree my junction temp was hitting about 110c and I have changed the thermal paste several times without thinking of undervoiting and by doing so and lowering the core clock by a 100mhz It's worth it.
Do the settings and changes applied in the Radeon software take precedence over any changes made in other programs such as MSI Afterburner? And if so do we need to have the Radeon Software open in the background or in the system tray in order for these changes to have an effect?

Thank you for this video. I got a powercolor rx 6600 xt red devil today and I got way better performance on the core with 1100mv and the memory , I was only able to get it to 2180mhz . I got 5 more fps in rdr2 at 1440p almost ultra . From 52fps average to 57fps average. Didn't test any other game cause I didn't test , so yeah , thanks ;) Edit : Now I've been playing rdr2 for like 2 and a half hours and it crashed because of the memory , so I'd going to 2050 mhz will be enough for it to be stable
Yap , I did test with and without fast timings , without it i would get like 20mhz+ on memory , but still get 2fps minus . So its worth keeping on. You think I should return it and get another model? Or the same one ?
Awesome! Like always, your videos are the best. I have AMD Radeon XFX SWFT 210 RX 6600XT and my card work best like your settings in this video. Playing RDR2 on 1080p ultra setings ray tracing on and never, never go under 55fps(night in town) average is 70-75fps, with OC like u said in the video...gained aprox 8fps. in future I will replace my monitor for 1440p and i thing will be playable as well :D
i've got the exact same card. I managed to get it stable at 1040 mV. But the card's junction temps still hovers in the 90s when playing Star Wars Fallen Order. Fan speed is set to constant 100%. Am I doing something wrong here?
I've been tinkering with overclock/undervolt for a few days. I set up my 6600xt according to your recommended values. Then i opened up a game. I increased the voltage a bit because i saw some weird stuttering. Tested again. Compared between stock and overclocked and got a few more fps in forza motorsport in both averages and 1 % lows. Today i was just watching something on amazon. And then suddenly i got a black screen. After rebooting the pc i got a notification from the AMD software that the tunning settings were reverted to default due to instability. How come i never got a black screen during gameplay for more than 10 minutes but i got blackscreen while watching a video stream? And this happened like 3 times already. I even tried using the stress test built-in feature in the AMD software. Ran it for 5 minutes. No black screen, nothing. But then im watching amazon prime with a few browser tabs open, and suddenly i get a blackscreen? Surely the stress test was more intensive than that, right? Could it be that my gpu dual bios mode is set to quiet, instead of OC ? I did raise the power limits to 20 % in the software just like you said. Anyway.. Should i switch to OC mode on the gpu and then try again? I'm pretty sure i have enough power from my power supply.. ( 700W evga psu). Hopefully my power supply didn't get bust or something. Might report more to this comment if i find a solution or anything changes.

A couple of doubts... On every check of stability I have to run games at its max graphics quality to see if it crashes or not? Or just with the VRAM check ? I use to play CSGO so, I don't usually play at highest qualities

i used these setting and put them against the auto overclock feature in the software, and the auto overclock got 30 fps more in furmark donut. I singled out each of the steps one-by-one, and I found that the worst offender was setting the minimum gpu clock 100mhz lower than the max clock. If you omit that step, everything else seems fine.
Hi ! For the 6600XT, I don't OC it because I have a 22 inch screen 1080p 60Hz so I just want to have the better efficiency ! Just the fact to block the GPU at 60fps made a huge difference but with UV/UC is more efficient and I love that ! Consume less, temp under 60-65°C, less noise ... just perfect !

Hey hey, the "traditional" Nvidia/Intel combo has died since Ryzen was released, and 5000 and mostly 6000 series made a good comeback for AMD in terms of GPUs as well. Still, the main reason is AMD sends hardware, and Intel and NVIDIA don't even care...
Is this a driver bug like the RX 5700 XT launch? Purposely reduce your core clock to 70% and your core voltage to 90%, and watch it crash when testing furmark? You can't purposely reduce the voltage in half while cutting the core clocks in half, say to test for stability or driver bugs? RX 6600 XT Sapphire Nitro+... I got it at Canada's Computer for 711.89 CAD (total), because it's +100 USD over MSRP from the current pricing of 629.99 (subtotal) on the site. Canadian prices are much higher due to tariffs and import fees. But this was nothing compared to AIB Vega cards when they launched. I am not sure if the GDDR6 are overheating too soon though.
Something very interessting for you: My MSI 6600XT Gaming X has in Firestrick, Timespy and Port Royal the same score if i compare Fast and Standard Timings on VRAM 2162Mhz. It is always about 5 Points more or less the same. My card has Samsung VRAM like most of the other 6600XT. Could you compare that with your card? Because if behavior is the same on other cards, than fast Timings is useless for the 6600XT. Than it would be better not to change it from default, for stability reasons.... if you get no benefit...
@@AncientGameplays Yes, i was wondering, too. And today it is a different picture. 2162Mhz fast and normal timings is ca 2% difference in 3D Mark scores at todays tests. Must have been something wrong with my 3D Mark and it was fixed after reboot. Can't reach 2200Mhz with fast timing. Games will freeze after some hours of playing. I thing 2140 Mhz (2128Mhz without offset) is the best i can do with my card. Other owners of 6600xt cards report around 2150 Mhz (2138 Mhz) is stable for them after intensive playing. You must have won the silicon lottery with your Qick and Red Devil cards. I personally think the manufacturers send the reviewers better cards than the average ones.

Did u notice that installing afterburner will force all ur oc settings to go to default again after each restart ? Version 24.3.1
Great video. Ty very much m8.
Thanks for watching :D
What tools do you recommend for testing the GPU and for how long (time) do you recommend testing?
I recommend heavy games
@@AncientGameplays nice , I will try with The Witcher 3 ultra graphics and Watch Dog legion ultra settings

@@AncientGameplays played some BF2042 earlier and actually noticed a nice 5-10 FPS gain, thank you so much! 👍👍👍
Works great, thank you very much.
Mine is PowerColor Red Devil variant, it can get as low as 1060 mV (undervolt only), and managed to stay stable with your OC values at 1090 mV.
Too bad I can't get my memory clock exactly like yours, but it's fine since mine's only 10 MHz lower (2204 MHz).
10Mhz do literally nothing, even 50MHz wouldn't render any visible gains
@@AncientGameplays true 🙌
Thank you very much for the detailed instructions with actual settings. Some RUclipsrs clickbait us with "settings" but don't really teach us how. Your 6600xt settings instantly got me to 31 Mh/s NiceHash, and 33 with some tweaking using the methods you describe. I have the PowerColor Hellhound. I hit that like button for you sir!

Overclocked my xfx 6600xt swift 210 to 2700 core, 2300 memory and it actually beat my RTX 2080's graphics score in fire strike!, My 6600xt is paired with a 10850k and 2080 is paired with a 5950x
Yeap, doesn't surprise me as the 5700XT was already around that card :D

You're welcome. I am sure i have way more videos of your liking
Great detailed video! Settings worked for me immediately on my 6600s. Performance on NiceHash jumped from 28 MH/s to 31 MH/s in real time. And now the 6600s are running 15 degrees C cooler.
Nice to know you liked it
Hey Man. Great video.
Which model is used here XFX Quik or Red Devil one?
Is the in-built stress test reliable or games to test the tunings.
Doesn't matter the model, this is the XFX i believe :D
It most definitely must be a bug. If your mV caps out at 1070 and you reduce clock speeds on par with that, it will bug out and crash the entire driver regardless of the operation.
I do notice when stressing out the gpu and turning down the clocks and voltage slowly, it slightly artifacts at 94% voltage or 1070, which means that the driver must have a built in protection to auto-reset the gpu when it detects slight artifacting?
At 95% it's fine for the most part because the core clocks can't hit high enough on the most simplest stress test on furmark lol.
GPU Hotspot temps of ~80+ celsius when on stock settings and reducing voltage will drastically reduce the hotspot temps to like 75-76 and such...
buying this card just because of you, love you man keep making this and how-to videos on AMD
Thank you my man :D
Nice to help
Just bought one too. The fan curve is messy tho. Have you gone through the trouble of finding the optimal curve?
Undervolting is a must for most hardware parts, people just don't get it
@@AncientGameplays yea I agree my junction temp was hitting about 110c and I have changed the thermal paste several times without thinking of undervoiting and by doing so and lowering the core clock by a 100mhz It's worth it.
really nice bro, extremamente detalhado parabens!

About the Smart Access Memory it's "resizable bar" inside the motherboard bios. You have enable resizable bar.
Yeah ofc
Do the settings and changes applied in the Radeon software take precedence over any changes made in other programs such as MSI Afterburner? And if so do we need to have the Radeon Software open in the background or in the system tray in order for these changes to have an effect?
It's automatic after you apply settings. MSI afterburner requires start up I believe.
Love your videos bro! Thanks so much!

Didn't test any other game cause I didn't test , so yeah , thanks ;)
Edit : Now I've been playing rdr2 for like 2 and a half hours and it crashed because of the memory , so I'd going to 2050 mhz will be enough for it to be stable
Have you tried fast timings (damn, you were unlucky on vram)
Yap , I did test with and without fast timings , without it i would get like 20mhz+ on memory , but still get 2fps minus . So its worth keeping on. You think I should return it and get another model? Or the same one ?
I meant to say I got 2150 maximum on it , not 2050 , im gonna do a stress test tonight , see how it goes

Can you do one for the 6650xt please 😅
The steps you see here are the same my man :;D
Might report more to this comment if i find a solution or anything changes.
cpu/ gpu temps are good btw
Much stable during games now thx alot😁

Every time i start my pc, the Zero RPM re-enables itself for some reason and can't seem to find a fix. Annoying to have 57c gpu temp on idle instead of 39c with Zero RPM disabled. Have you heard about this issue?
Very well thaks from spain!
Really nice video :)

Question. If i decrease the clock speed can i decrease the voltage further below than 1080mv ? its the limit for my card
Yes, exactly
These cards uses the same votage for GPU Core and for Memory power controller... Lowest voltage depends not only from Core but from memory controller too :(
Yeap, it was "the same" with VEGA cards :D
@@AncientGameplays There are some limit in frequency, when you reach like 2600mhz, all voltages are ignored and card works with stock voltage 😔... Only GPU-Z shows right voltage at the moment..need to test and find right MHz's 🤮

You're welcome
Hi I'm wondering why did you turn off zero rpm? wouldn't that setting makes the fans last longer than having them on continuously?
you're genuinely an angel
A couple of doubts... On every check of stability I have to run games at its max graphics quality to see if it crashes or not? Or just with the VRAM check ? I use to play CSGO so, I don't usually play at highest qualities
Run a benchmark and see if it crashes.
thanks just got it but the temps are so bad was able to undervolt it from 80c to 60-65c and overclock it heavily 2800mhz and mem 2250

I think I will do the undervolt, mabye a bit more if possible than in video and give memory a little boost and fast timings. It's already a really fast card for 1080p.
Hi, can u make a video about undervolting the RX 6650XT?
And are a be quiet 450w psu enough for a RX 6650XT?

Thanks for the tutorial! Do you use MSI Kombustor while testing the overclocking process?
Usually use gaming in several games and pushing several resolutions :D
@@AncientGameplays so do you have a game running on a small Window whilst you can adjust the overclock sliders?
I adjust and run a game till it crashes, if not i tweak again. Usually higher resolutions and heavy games
@@AncientGameplays thank you 😊
i used these setting and put them against the auto overclock feature in the software, and the auto overclock got 30 fps more in furmark donut. I singled out each of the steps one-by-one, and I found that the worst offender was setting the minimum gpu clock 100mhz lower than the max clock. If you omit that step, everything else seems fine.
That seems odd, maybe your GPU vbios doesn't like it or you're simply power restricted
I can play Fortnite at 2800mhz max, 2700mhz min, 1010mV and 2190mhz with fast timings, its ok?
if it doesn't crash, put the min clocks to 500MHz, some things changed nowadays :D

maybe a BIOS problem, OR, just not stable at 100%

@@milansarenac3335 you needed a clean driver install...that is a must all the times. Install chipset drivers as well
I got really bizarre results w/ my 6600 XT... The more I undervolt (with same clock and RAM settings).. the more the FPS increases... until it hits a point where it crashes.
I am currently stable at 2625/2725, 2125RAM and 990MV?
That's not bizarre. Lower voltage means more power room for the card to clock higher
@@AncientGameplays Lower voltage.. same watts, means more amps, doesn't it? So something is being more stressed with lower voltage. Interesting.
I only saw this with Furmark... tried other benchmarks, and did not see this behavior. Weird.

Humm, actually not, my 6600xt has no issue when sleeping
I would like to hear you on why you choose amd across the board instead of a traditionnal Nvidia/Intel gaming pc
I have an rx 6600xt msi gaming x and i can add only 4% powerdraw...
Listen to what I say
That makes no sense, you need to test in actual games and see the difference. Also, something seems off there
@@AncientGameplays Yes, i was wondering, too.
