    I specifically mention working breeds in my tagline because it's so hard for people to find sitters for higher drive dogs

    avoid paying through rover. They rover is getting pet sitters with 20% and then hitting customers with a dynamic service fee. After the meet and greet and you like the sitter, pay them cash.

    • @Gigichew
      @Gigichew  3 месяца назад +2

      :( ugh i know! The fee is so unfortunate. The rover insurance is REALLY good though. There is also some algorithm that wont work in your favor either. This is to your discretion but some important things to keep in mind :)
      1) Rover fees are in there to keep the company going (house always win, as i always say xD) but for good reason. when i didnt know much about Rover yet i had asked my rover sitter this very question thinking he can keep more of the take home. But he said he wantd to stay on rover and i said okay thats fine. And i'm so glad I did in this case because of a freak accident, my dog's foot was broken at this sitters house andRover covered all 6k of his surgery bill and I didnt have to ask a penny from the sitter. This is just my extreme example :)
      2) Algorithm: if you get a request and it doesn't get booked, it can count against you if you have too many of those. Theres a % the company will look at. Messages to bookings ratio and it'll affect where you show up on the search
      I do have an LLC and I do have booking requests from people that didn't come from Rover so for those clients, there is not 20% fee. But i totally hear you on that. It sucks having to see a lump sum but knowing some of it is going back to the company. However, if you look at your tax statement on your profile, you can write that portion off I believe!

      @@Gigichew I totally understand. I used to be a dog sitter for Rover in the state of Georgia. And it was this one parent that brought it to my attention of the fees that she was getting hit with. Long story short, I looked into my own scheduling software for dog sitters. And I’ve picked up dog boarding insurance from travelers insurance. I made to move cause my clients got fed up.
      And I agree with the algorithm. I used to get request for people that was clearly outside of my service area. And there would be circumstances not in my control and I would a ding on my profile for that.

      @@Ace_USVI awww that’s a bummer! Sorry to hear that :(
      I was looking into Gingr when they reached out to me, but I think I’m gonna stay Rover for a while. Have you looked into gingr? :) might be a good fit!

    How do you find clients instead of sitters?

    • @Gigichew
      @Gigichew  19 дней назад

      you will need to advertise on your own. There is a quick copy and paste link you can use for Craiglists under marketing and you can order business cards from Rover too, or make your own! :) put them up on telephone poles, meet people at dog parks. etc good luck!

      @@Gigichew what do you mean by copy and paste link for Craigslist? :))

    • @Gigichew
      @Gigichew  19 дней назад

      @@helloitislucie4475 oh shoot, I think they changed it. But in the past, you are able to copy and paste a pre-written post you can put on craigslist for your business. But I just checked!! and if you go under promote your business tab, you are able to copy and paste that link and put it anywhere you like including craigslist, Facebook, Instagram, etc.

      @@helloitislucie4475 you’re welcome! It’s thriving! I was tempted to go off Rover and just stick with my LLC because it is always easier to stick with clients that we know instead of meeting new ones all the time. but I decided to continue with Rover because my husband was telling me that since dogs pass away or they move away, it is always nice to have a platform for people can find us. How’s yours? :)
