I want to come back during the summer to film an unedited walking tour of the downtown area. I enjoyed my visit to Tillsonburg while making this video.
I was raised in Tillsonburg. (My back still aches)😂 Best years of my life. My family surname goes waaaay back. Farming, tobacco, etc. I attended Tillson Ave School in the 1970’s.
Exploring these Ontario towns...you are following in the footsteps of Wayne Rodstad's former show on CBC - "On the Road Again" and Johnny Harris - "Still Standing" still on TV - all are important for connecting people in our country and province together.....getting to know various towns with their unique cultures, encouraging us to get to know each other better.
If it weren't for COVID-19 restrictions and a limited budget I'd be travelling all over Canada. I'm glad my workplace adopted the continental shift schedule so I'd could go filming on days off. Thank you for your continuing support!
Two things worth seeing. Annandale House. And walking to the gazebo over the lake. Won't say why, you will find out when you do it. Shawn, did you do it?
In the future you could check out for any local songs or poems about the area (or if any shows/movies filmed there). I'm afraid you missed out on a great opportunity with the musical background....Stompin' Tom Connors had a song "Tillsonburg". (although have to check out copyrights). I like the attention to historical plaques - at times can give more background information.
I think copyright laws would present an obstacle however I have a great editing app on my cell phone. That's where I get all the background music for my travel videos.
My back still aches when I hear that word!
In all of my 34 years living in Ontario today was my very first time I set foot in Tillsonburg. Nice place.
Great video! I live in town so I'm glad you enjoyed your visit!
Awesome pictures of my home town OH HOW I miss Tilly

How about one on Simcoe???
Yes, I have a video on Simcoe too. Feel free to check it out.
I lived there from 1992 to 2002. A beautiful small town then. Was very sad to see the state of it in 2018 when I came for a visit.
